I looked dragon ball going after man masculinity in modern era! Simple fact their characters went from OP all the way back in NERF OR NOTHING CATEGORIES! OTHER ANIMES OUT IN WORLD THAT TANK THEIR CHARACTERS EVEN IF ANY ARE SCRAWNY!
No No honestly I feel like janemba and cooler could be pretty cool and work well in cannon now. The other movie people not so much like turles makes no sense to bring back. Like he popped up in SDBH and is able to fight Super Goku and Vegeta?? Okay lmao sure.
They should have just done the new generation approach like boruto is doing with a bunch of new support characters around Trunks & Goten that would have been awesome.
Honestly, Akira Toriyama said in an interview that the Buu Saga was suppose to be the end of Dragon Ball all together. I think he knew all the way back then that the current direction was getting stale and repetitive. The last half of GT was sort of unique. I just like GT because of SSJ4.
@@JubeiKibagamiFez you would think after GT he wouldn't allow anymore half assed sequels. If it was about the money he would have let it continue. So why on Earth does he tolerate super? I guess since his kids aren't famous manga writers he may as well pass the torch to someone else to continue his legacy.
@@cygnusprime6728 I don't know? Maybe it's Toriyama taking a hands off approach again like he did with GT? Or Toriyama is just concentrating on the manga? I don't know. I watched the entirety of Super because I can't not finish something. There were great parts in Super, but there were more dull and "here we go again" parts. And way to many characters all at once... Like the creators were pulling a Season 8 Game of Thrones... All In, Win or Lose, like everyone involved was ready to move on from Dragon Ball altogether.
@@treemane0 Yep the story is just who has the bigger pp lvl. And don't get me started on what they did to vegeta in the manga... SPOILERS Gave him instant transmission💀
@@imedd3191 it used to be in the beginning and then it went away from power levels and now in dbs it's like if you not a God you not relevant and now all these dudes coming in without God ki smacking gods around like tf?
Early Dragon Ball villains: wrestling heels in a kung fu anime DBZ villains: the art of evil that can’t be reasoned with DBS villains: all antagonists but not all villains DBGT villains: walking power levels
I mean, king piccolo was different, plague and terror were a little different and pilaf and his gang were very different, but other than that... yeah... it was just a bunch of wrestlers/martial artists for every other major villain, i mean... the red ribbon army was cool, but all their leaders were martial artists or your average military stereotype... honestly my favorite dragon ball villain was octo-daddy
@@UnifiedEntity Well only 1 Villain & RETURNING Villain. Goku Black is Zamasu in Goku's Body so having him being Fused with a different Zamasu became 'Fused Zamasu'. Most of them are Antagonists, 1 Returning Villain, & 1 DB Super Villain. Returning Villains don't count really.
I think that the main problem has to do with Toriyama’s writing style. When the original DB and DBZ came out, there was nothing else like it. Toriyama basically singlehandedly reinvented the Shounen Genre as a whole and established the tropes that make modern shonen what it is today. Now that decades have passed, other mangaka have toyed with those tropes and that’s where we get more insightful villains like Orochimaru, Aizen, Pain, Meruem, Asura, etc. At the time he was writing DB, Toriyama didn’t have villains that were necessarily complex or diverse in philosophy because his writing style was pretty simple and he was already creating a genre-defining series. Now he is forced to compete with other anime that have followed in his footsteps and elaborated on his work, so he now feels like he has to create more complex characters. In doing so, it conflicts with his simple writing style that made his work so great and it makes it seem kind of half-assed.
Good explanation . Although, Toriyama pretty much just gives them outlines to fill in, so it’s more in the hands of toyotaro and toei, but this is a good explanation. I think goku black was a step for dragon ball evolving into the modern era where we have complex villains with sad ass backstories and all that. From what I saw with black, I like the direction they’re heading. Looking back at some if his quotes, he was a pretty complex villain and his ideology was interesting. I wanna see more villains like that. Maybe not the constant rambling (even tho it was pretty interesting), but the cold, calculating, smart villains. And they’re doing that with Moro so imo it’s headed in a good direction.
Jiren as a villain was a major downgrade, largely relying on hype. You don't learn how he got so strong. You don't learn how he's able to stand against perfected UI. You don't learn why he's a Trooper enough to even care about the "embrace your friends" subplot Super pushed. (Why IS he one in the first place lol) The entire experience in the tournament is waiting for his character to open up, and all you get is a few smirks, smiles, and remarks. Freeza on Namek was legit the same exact character, except he had LOADS more personality, depth, and weight. We watched him go from calm and collected (even polite) to pissed off and savage. And it was actually scary to witness.
B R he’s more of a antagonist than a villain but the thing is, There’s still so much to explore and expand about jiren. We could get a whole arc that goes more in depth of his backstory, and him going on some kinda investigation to find the person who killed his master and parents. Imo he’s a very underrated character and his backstory, although cliche as hell, made perfect sense for why he was acting how he was and fit him nicely. Tbh, jiren has the potential to be one of the best characters if handled right when super returns
Another Great part in which Buu gave no **** was when Piccolo said hey kill all the humans to buy time and Super Buu was just like Aight Bet and he does it in like 10 sec.
I mean it was clever the way he found a way to get out of it but then both characters literally just kept powering up and saying "no u" with zero skill. Hit can still be written as a good character, hopefully he doesn't get the piccolo treatment.
@@jamainegardner4193 i agree, but it was a nice little fan pleasing moment since it has been literally hundreds of episodes since the last kaio ken. It's too bad they didn't do anything creative with it, but kaio ken multiplies your speed so it makes perfect sense to use it to get out of a time stop. What doesn't make sense is how piccolo, tien, etc all trained with king Kai and never use it.
Cygnus Prime come to think of it, there’s dozens of characters in super that can still be written as good characters. Super just needs to give them the screen time so they can expand on them. Ex. We can literally have a whole arc about jiren, more of his backstory, and him going on a journey to find the person who killed his parents and caused his trauma. Toppo. Dypso. The gods of destruction. The freakin angels. The u6 sayains. Etc. Hell if they give ribriane a good backstory I would actually care about her
@@leultrainstinct406 until Japan gets over it's obsession with selling new super saiyan form toys and video games all of those good ideas will go to waste. I think toriyama himself recognized his own main character was hogging up too much spotlight and making it hard to write good stories when he tried to kill him off in the cell saga.
Cygnus Prime true they gotta chill with all that. I don’t have a problem with the firms, but if you’re gonna make them, they gotta make sense and actually have value. Not value as merchandise but something that’ll actually move the story along. Tbh I don’t wanna see anymore forms, just the ones we already have along with new techniques. Yea but he realized that goku is pretty much db. He did think ab making Gohan the mc, but saw I wouldn’t work out. So goku can stay, but The problem is the others don’t get enough screen time when they should. The solution: db needs to turn into a one piece type show where it may be long as hell, but that’s cuz many characters get fully fleshed out and that makes the story better overall.
Dragon ball does kinda need a reboot. The powerlevels are so meaningless now. Like ssgss doesn’t feel like it means shit anymore and I remembered being hyped about super saiyan god, but now that shit is just all thrown away by ssgss always being clapped.
my biggest gripe with super saiyan god is there was no subtext. i can forget about them learning to use god ki (especially since they trained for it in the anime), but there was an instantaneous jump to super saiyan blue. we were never given a clear scale of how strong super saiyan god was, and since super saiyan blue took the limelight, it no longer felt special, because it had no drawbacks in the anime and it was spammed. the fact super saiyan god was a lesser form just made it even less special
Reezona Fleeza Agree, there was no build up to SSJB and it just came out of nowhere, what the should’ve done is that in the Resurrection F saga, have Goku and Vegeta unlock SSJG, and then build up SSJB all the way to TOP saga and then that’s when Goku and Vegeta unlock SSJB.
Xander G. you’re both right; the forms are basically for selling toys now. it would have been nice to see them evolve and grow the form, but alas, the manga does this a bit better
Reezona Fleeza Indeed, In the Battle of Gods saga, they were setting up Super Sayian God. We could’ve seen Goku and Vegeta training with Whis working their way up to that form. And then once we got into the Resurrection F saga, like I Blue just came out of nowhere, and instead of them showing us how they reach that form, they instead just tell and just expect us to go with it. Now I’m one of few minorities that likes ssjb but it should have been explained better and shown a lot more how they reach. And it’s sad that ssjg never got the respectful build up, it was a form that they plan on setting up but then was just drop for another form. I mean after BOG, we never saw Goku go ssjg until TOP saga and we never saw Vegeta turn ssjg until the Broly movie
6:22 No lie ur right Almost all the moves in dbz are the same Theres some exemptions to it like beerus hakai energy, but bruh, it's like since they got the god forms they only got stronger and didnt get any extra abilities from it, they dont experiment with it. Gokus god bind was the newest technique they've shown, despite training with an unorthodox GOD for like 5 seasons. Characters like hit and morro were needed, their unorthodox abilities were a breath of fresh air, characters who brought sumn new to the table in they werent JUST strong, but their weird abilities is what makes them dangerous. I honestly feel like goku shouldve gotten the Megaman treatment, each villain he fights he learns something new from them, adapting goku blacks ki blade but making it his power pole instead, the god bind was probably HITS move, and maybe getting a new skill from broly. Morro was dope up till he ate someone and looked different from it. I think it's crazy that despite having god ki so long, it's not whis or beerus that teaches vegeta how to use the spirit fissure technique, its YARDRATS, like what's the point of calling it god ki? It's not special anymore, and it doesnt do anything but just makes u strong, but when u got guys like Jiren, broly, kefla, hit, and even 17 that can come in and dick u down with just regular degular ki, what makes u special again? I think that god ki has alot of potential to be explored, so far it's only a power boost, we could get a slew of new abilities from it, like maybe goku can shoot a ki blast in the air in god form, move his hands around and cause it to rain for his crops, grab a stone, crush it in his hands and pour alot of ki into it and make it shine and change it to gold, or heal people really well with it, even bringing them back to life, I always thought that's what he did to roshi in the t.o.p. If u ask me, they should introduce yamoshi into the mix, have him be some astral spirit that siphons off god ki the saiayns use to reconstitute his body, he can teach the saiyans things hed learned over the millennia of being a spirit all while preparing them for the 1st saiyan to come back and fight against it. Dont make it too op or too bullshitty but have god ki actually mean sumn, does it make u smarter? Does it let u semi predict peoples movements? Does it give u better stamina regen or just some regen in t he 1st place?
@@JaxBlade Thanks bro Also if I may ask What's your favorite goku? By that I mean his mentality is different in the different series and what hes about Which do u like most? Cuz for me its between buu saga goku(his attitude in the dub was A1 asf although he did fuck up in not killing majin buu 1st chance he got) and gt goku, he may have been a child but he had some good moments in there when he gets assertive, speaks from the heart, and really drops some gems.
I get what you mean. I mean we've seen goku do a unique ki blast that revived him from being killed by hit. And honestly I understand most of jiren abilities are bland and that he's just very strong but what stood out about jiren to me was that his unseen fist with his eyes that practically made him seem like a extremely powerful physic. I mean frieza has physic abilities but he doesn't expound upon it.
Like I would love a short series on Krillin as a police officer and how all the criminals in just freak out at how ridiculous he is. like if some bank robbers lock hostages in a vault then Krillin just walks in and rips off the door.

Yess, he was such a terror. Ss2 Vegeta would be a holding his own for a sec, then just get decimated. KB really get his head blown off just cuz he really just stop paying attention to the fight for no reason
I'd honestly love it if there was a Dragon Ball series that focused on the slice of life aspects. Maybe add some sort of mystery if we wanna have an overarching story with some big battle for the universe or something at the very end, but something similar to TFS' Dragon ShortZ, with Goku training Goten and Pan, Gohan being a scholar, Vegeta being a dad and Piccolo being an uncle is something I'd really appreciate seeing. We already know these guys are strong beyond comparison, now let's take a look at them when they're not fighting a monster of the week. (Also I'm imagining this with a Young Justice/Avatar TLA artstyle because I think it would look cool/fit the theme better)
Aw man imo Hit is lowkey underrated, i know that Guldo already did the time thing, but you know, after having plenty of antagonists who just shoot ki blasts and all, it felt refreshing how Hit just fights focusing on pressure points while using ZA WARUDO, i'm pretty sure he's never even shot a ki blast (at least in the anime). Still pretty good vid tho, and i haven't watch Mlp, but that Tirek guy definetly does not look boring at all.
I never had a problem with Dragon Ball characters having the same powers, it's a martial arts series, martial arts aren't boring just because everyone throws punches, kicks, and grapples with their opponents. Everyone is on a level playing field in terms of the things their abilities can do, which means every fight is actually a fight, and the series never loses track of what power means in its universe, like Naruto did. When the show says that a character has gotten more powerful, you know exactly what the show means by that because the characters don't have a huge variety of powers. Even the strange tricks that characters use, such as magic, can often be overcome through a character's physical abilities. Ki in the show is a universal thing that every being has, and every great fighter in the series uses, which in addition to my earlier point means that characters often have to come up with interesting ways of utilizing their abilities to get the upper hand in a fight, like bending a kamehameha wave, or using it to propel yourself in the air, blindsiding Frieza with ki blasts from underwater, launching a sudden offensive at Cell as soon as the fight starts to try and drive him out of the arena, reading Hit like a book in order to counter his time skip, trapping a power rangers wannabe with spheres to hold her in place while he hits her with a beam, laying a minefield with small amounts of ki, and even literally surfing another blast with a kamehameha. Hell there's even a guy who mimics the effects of modern weaponry by shaping ki. We wouldn't get as much of this if all the characters had drastically different abilities. For an example of this, look at My Hero Academia, where fights are less about the interesting things people do with their powers, and are instead primarily about how quirks interact with each other. Only with the very limited quirks, like Uraraka's, do we see the same kind of ingenuity. This is still interesting, and leads to some great fights, but it's just not the same thing that people love Dragon Ball fights for.
They should've let Buu participate instead of Krillin Even if he just laid on the floor unconscious he would still be unbeatable And he could just absorb people , imagine a Buu after he sneakily absorbs Toppo or Hit when they're exhausted!
@@chanceofbliss8175 More interesting techniques and strategies than Buu? Even Tien would be a better pick for that logic. Let's be honest here, Krillin was forced into the spot and all I'm saying is instead of him, Buu should've gotten the spot.
@@rewrose2838 nah I'm saying if your gonna take somebody out I don't he's the right character to take out. I would rather remove tien, roshi and even frieza(who tbh ide like that he was there in the first place). Tien is weak af, roshi is weak af and frieza keeps getting recycled for merch, and you wanna take Goku's best friend out the team? Nah
I LOVE Kid Buu, he’s the ultimate menace and he’s my 3rd favorite villain in all of Dragon Ball, right behind Frieza at 1 and Goku Black at 2. But IMO, Dragon Ball Super’s villains aren’t meant to thrive off of unique abilities, but instead through their character changes in their respective arcs and their goals and motives. I will say that Hit and Zamasu are still pretty unique though. That’s just my opinion though bro
With everyone having the same skills and powers character becomes much more important. This is why Beerus is probably the most impactful villain in Super. We love watching his reactions to ongoing events and his interactions with the rest of the cast. It's a big reason why he's stuck around compared to other characters. I can see similar things going on with Buu. People will say he's a very simple character in certain forms, but those forms have managed to leave a positive impact on many fans. They weren't character types we had seen before in Z and so it was much more interesting seeing them interact with the main cast.
I would like to mention janemba being my favorite movie villain, he's definitely the most unique of them all, and has powers and abilities unlike anything in dragon ball period, also super janemba looks sick!
Broly is my fav villain. I like both incarnations but the original has such a good soundtrack in his movie. He used grapples, wrestling moves and had more flowing combat because he was fighting multiple people.
@@InvestedGman it's been about the saiyans pretty much for the majority of z as well. The only time non-saiyan characters shined was in the android saga, as well as some earlier moments. The TOP in super was interesting to me because at least that made other characters somewhat relevant again, but aside from that in super even a lot of the saiyans are getting the backseat. It's pretty much the Goku and Vegeta show now. It annoys me because I'm sure Toriyama and the other writers could think up ways of making these characters relevant again, but instead they're just relegated to the slice of life/being the punching bag for the villains scenes.
Yeah Dragon Ball was amazing, and early Z carried over some of that at least till Freeza died. After that everything felt like an unnecessary add-on. (the villains in Z were very fun though, even if most of the characters were mishandled)
@@rewrose2838 imperfect cell was probably my favourite villain, just because there had never been a villain that creepy before and it was so different from the rest of the series. I loved that when he powered up you could see the souls of his victims flowing out, and he gave us some of the greatest dbz fights in cell vs piccolo and the piccolo vs 17 fight. The early parts of the android/cell saga were easily my favourite for the sense of mystery at the time. I also loved the idea of two incredibly powerful villains coming along and you as the viewer expecting them to be the main antagonists, and then an even more threatening villain becoming the focal point of the saga. I still respect the opinion of people who thought it went downhill from the Frieza saga, but for me the early cell/android saga was the peak.
@@lordthruxawe504 I didn't mean to come off as saying DBZ went downhill after Freeza saga. Heck I would totally agree on Cell (all forms) being my favourite villain in DB 😁. But the characters did get trashed after the end of Freeza, and most of them weren't even relevant after Goku got back on Earth. DBZ had to become a contrived mess to keep the story going. Compared to that, original DB and early DBZ managed to keep the fights interesting and personally engaging, while keeping the stakes high.
I love how you make what most people would think is a primitive and simplistic and usually superficial viewpoint of Kid Buu’s simplicity especially compared to the other complex buus interesting and meaningful with kid buu, haha I love it. Keep doing you
I was soo pissed they decised to cut Buu out of the tournamenr of power. I felt he could've been that 17 which he had chunks of himself spread in the ring and sabotage other fighters easily. Couldve had that diversity of stretching, regen, multiforms if absorbing people. A sucker punch chocolate beam to Jiren imagine that.
Thank you Jaxs for this video man. I agree with you about the villians you selected. Cell was my favorite villian in Dragon Ball z tbh his personality and humor and just overall his fucking confidence just made me love his character he was ready to brawl for fun despite wanting to take over the world lmfaoo
I completely agree with teh part where jax is talking abiut how everyone has essentially a different version of the same abilities. I personally found the TOP to be lackluster at most points bc most ppl could shoot ki blasts and shit. I mean like, what if ki controll was something only found in universe 7, and other universes each have their own individual powersets (simple ie: if universe 5 had something more similar to chakra, and universe 11 had something more similar to nen, etc etc.) I always thought it was a great opportunity that was waisted, but maybe that's just me.
Favorite DB Villains: Mercenary Tao and Piccolo Favorite DBZ Villains: Vegeta and Cell Favorite Movie Villains: Hirudegon and Janemba Favorite DBS Villians: Umm.. Favorite DBGT Villains: Didn’t Watch Favorite Super DB Heroes Villains: No
you know the only reason i even watch dbs heroes, was because the voice actor for the main villain is the same as Dio, and Hit (who's voiced by Jotaro's voice actor in the dub) fights him, so i took the whole thing as a big Jojo reference.
Dr. Wheelo and Lord Slug are my favorite villains of DBZ, i think Dr. Wheelo would make a good arch-nemesis for The Great Saiyaman tho like being a superhero movie with like... That evil mad scientist vs the good superhero vibe.
My favorite villain from dragonball was the organization RR when Goku was a kid. He had to do more stuff to beat that organization than what he had to do against all the villains 😂😂😂😂. Also a reboot idea: Shouyo 😂😂😂😂
It’s been a while since I saw the Boo saga, and it became my favourite one because I remember it having a real sense of desperation. Is my memory playing tricks on me?
Dragon Ball (when Goku was a kid) and Z are very good. GT and Super not that much. Especially, Super, it feels not the same as from the Dragon Ball franchise from the 90's.
I love that Kid Buu is your favorite, its something i rarely hear in the dragon ball community and I completely agree. Kid Buu and Majin Buu in general has always been my favorite villian in dbz. Hes just a pure beast.
The moment where a SS2 “rage” trunks is as strong/stronger then a super Saiyan God Blue showcases how they had no idea how to powerscale/handle the powerscale mess that is DVZ
@@itsover6668 N.... No. End of Z is canon. It was in the manga. It was literally how Toriyama ended the original series. I agree that GT is non-canon because it was an anime only story, and I would honestly be okay with Super getting the same non-canon treatment, but the End of Z is as canon as the rest of the original story (not counting the anime-only filler segments - I am referring exclusively to the manga, just to be clear) Edit: I will admit there were differences between the End of Z in the anime and in the manga, but that doesn't change the fact the End of Z was part of Toriyama's original story
@@itsover6668 I'd genuinely love to know where you got that statement from, because I can't find a single official source stating that they've retconned the End of Z. All I can find is a bunch of fans debating whether or not Z's ending is gonna get retconned and a couple of people mentioning that the official showrunners of DBS have stated that the current state of the series (i.e. the ToP) doesn't retcon anything (they don't provide any official sources either, admittedly, and I'm struggling to find any interviews myself where this was mentioned), but nothing to suggest the End of Z has been definitively retconned. Heck, Super even directly refers to the End of Z by having Dende referencing Uub
They could also just develop one of their spin off properties more. There are several re-imaginings of the original Dragonball that they could work with, my personal favourite is Path to Power, where they folded the Red Ribbon and Pilaf sagas together and at the same time did their own thing. Eighter with a built in jetpack is freaking cool!
I agree that it does get repetitive after Z. A couple of things I would have changed about Super. This'll be more of a rant with the things I'd change. I feel like in Z Goku was a bit more mature & I know that's mostly the English dub version of Goku & Sean & the crew said they wanted to be more faithful to the sub. I like Goku a tad more in Z than in Super. I'd change some of the writing on the Zamasu Arc. At first watch it was fascinating to me. Second watch you see the major plot holes that the moment I can't remember. Filler episodes were great. I would have given the artists & animators waaayyy more time to let them do what they do best. Getting back into drawing myself i know it takes a good while to get just one frame done let alone an entire episode. The art & animation suffered some in the beginning. Not nearly as much during the retelling of Resurrection F. Tournament of Destroyers was cool. I have a little bit of an issue with the Universe 6 Saiyans leveling up as fast as they did & their explanation of Super Saiyan. My favorite of the three is Cabba. I have the least issue with him. Caulifa & Kale are cool but they need more personality than just shy & timid & then Saiyan raging the next. Also kinda wish the didn't make Kale the LSSJ. She is kinda a copy & paste of new Broly minus her timidity. Caulifa is more of street figther as Whis pointed out. Her personality is mostly bravado. Kefla is too. No hints of Kale in Kelfa other than the outfit. I loved Frieza & Vegeta in Super. Jiren was pretty meh for me. & the reason he's so strong just isn't that compelling. You wanna talk about losing everything ask Vegeta & Trunks how they feel 😂😂😂. I'm indifferent towards Grand Zeno. I'd have to assume they gave him kid like qualities because kids are innocent & kinda know right from wring if you teach em right. If anything I wanna see new individualized techniques for everyone. No more forms, im satisfied with what we have just do more with them than a change of hair color & aura. I wished the utilized Super Saiyan God way more than they did. No real complaint ms about the Broly movie. If Dragon Ball ever comes back I want the techniques as I stated earlier, more family time with all the crew. Goku training Goten, Caulifa, Broly & Kale. Vegeta trains Cabba & Trunks. Piccolo & Gohan train. & I think that's everything. If you read all of this I appreciate it. Also check out EVL-J Squad & EVL-J Gaming on TH-cam. K bye.
The funny thing is I liked the idea of Goku Black/Zamasu. They just handled him so fucking wrong. I think he could have been great, but that would’ve meant the Trunks arc was actually a good arc and...well we saw what happened haha. Honestly, I feel like Moro is better than what we’ve gotten so far, but that’s not saying much. Still will always love DB! Great video Jax!
Love the video dude. I agree with everything u said tho like for real. Also Super Buu. He's my favorite, along with Cell, Broly, and Baby. Everyone else...eh they cool tho.
Bruv! Love your channel. I have a few podcasts and would have a 5 hour convo on why i agree with you about Buu. He’s a freaking gem of a villain!!! Lets do it if you’d be down!!! Keep up the awesome work bruv! Peace!
Unpopular opinion dragonball should not come back as a series just maybe like one or two more movies because everything they could do has already been done and some of the concepts super made fell flat on its face ie god ki its completely pointless because it's not really better than regular ass ki frieza broly jiren kefla kale all prove my point
I loved the slice of life stuff because it reminded me of of dragon ball .somewhere along the line z became less about the story and characters and more about the spectacle. There isn't much left to do anymore we have seen them fight for the earth, galaxy, universe, it might be time to end it and let them have lives.
The thing with the protagonists, aside from piccolo or the sayians when they transform, they don’t really have powers. They harness the life energy (ki) which can only do so much, but everyone has ki so if someone can do something with ki almost anyone can learn to do it.

As much as i love dragonball it does have the same archetype for most of its characters, which is guy who punches, kicks, shoots energy beams and screams whe powering up. Just out of curiosity, have you ever seen one peice?
The Buu saga was my first exposure to the series as a kid, so it's heavily imprinted on me. I think people tend not to like it because the overarching story up to the cell saga is just narratively more coherent. But as a kid, the Buu saga had so many things to love: so many forms all with completely different personalities, Buu befriending Mr. Satan of all people, Buu's existential crisis where he splits, the Super buu/evil buu creep factor, the Kid Buu insanity, Vegeta's redemption, Gotenks, Mystic Gohan, Vegito, and Goku taking Buu's reincarnation under his wing to name a few. It's just as enjoyable as the other story arcs if you don't take it too seriously like the previous arcs. Kid buu was also my favorite villain.
"Oh,I'm Jiren. I'm buff" LOL XD . 10:13 That would be awesome! . I think a villain's personality is more important than their abilities. . Edit: Ooh! GT!
Thank you. Kid Buu (whether you liked him or not) was just the peak to me in just how dangerous a Dragon Ball villain could be both in his nature and fighting style. Since then, every other villain seems like a retread of a previous villain but just with a higher power level.
I wouldn't mind seeing Dragonball go back to being more comedy oriented, to touch on the "Slice of Life" idea for the series. Go back to wacky adventures where weird stuff happens and bizarre characters keep showing up to make it weirder.
Saiyan Saga Vegeta all the way through Namek is my favourite DB character, the parallel to Goku as an elite who thought he was on top of the world vs Goku who was discarded by a society that deemed him "low class trash", only for Goku to thrive on Earth and become even more powerful than Vegeta is so damn good. (Till DB Minus wrecked it)
I mean they have 12 universes worth of storylines they could explore. Personally would love to see what stuff happened in Universe 6. Or a sayians origins story to look more into the history of universe 7.
I feel like Dragon Ball is heading towards a sorta good direction, with Goku having Ultra Instinct and Vegeta having his Spirit Fission we might be going towards a series with much more varied powers
you said it all at the end, Super is just here to sell toys. they changed the time slot from evening which Z had to morning, around the time all the super sentai shows come on. No blood, violence is hugely toned down. I think if Super had a later time slot like around 8 or 9pm, we would see a lil more violence and better written characters again.
Im filming a video and is my body trasformation using the training program of your zoro video, its been already 22 day, thank you very much for your video
Oh my god yes finally someone gives some credit to my boy Buu! Super Buu was terrifying yet funny yet creepy yet cool all at the same time and had the best fights imo
In terms of a Dragon ball reboot, my first thought is to do something like Spiderman life story. Get a talented team, give them a set number of chapters, and allow changes for more time for non sayian characters, and a different yet worthwhile story.
I just looked up the Moro & Tirek stuff and OMFG its SOO BLATANT, WOOOOW he really is a knock off of a My Little Pony villain who's done much better, I'm crying. I cant, I LITERALLY Can't breathe right now
Good points on Kid Buu. You'd get similar results if you maxed out Piccolos powers and made him batshit insane and hyper aggro. Regeneration, check. Stretchy, check. Duplicates, check. Shoots beams, check. No candy beam, but he could probably still eat you.

Janemba was awesome and deserves a reboot.
Rebooting would be cool but use gt instead
Kid Buu was primal, he didn't have a reason. He just wanted to wreck your shit, no more no less.
Dragon ball just raised the stakes until they couldn’t anymore.
You summarized the whole video. Plagueofgripes said this in his power levels are stupid video. Should have ended a while ago
It wasn't writers fault. It was said in end of Z that those 10 years were peaceful thus why they couldn't make higher stakes anymore
Dragon Ball will always have a special part in all of our hearts

Early Dragon Ball villains: wrestling heels in a kung fu anime
DBZ villains: the art of evil that can’t be reasoned with
DBS villains: all antagonists but not all villains
DBGT villains: walking power levels
Pretty damn accurate
I mean, king piccolo was different, plague and terror were a little different and pilaf and his gang were very different, but other than that... yeah... it was just a bunch of wrestlers/martial artists for every other major villain, i mean... the red ribbon army was cool, but all their leaders were martial artists or your average military stereotype... honestly my favorite dragon ball villain was octo-daddy
Pretty sure Frieza and Goku Black were villains.
@@GarciaXVLegend_04 LIsten,i honestly hate Super....but im trying to be fair lol
In doing so, it conflicts with his simple writing style that made his work so great and it makes it seem kind of half-assed.
well said
Honestly though he’s just giving them clip notes, I feel like more of it falls onto toyotaro and Toei now.
Then Piccolo was like what the fuck do we do now?
Hit’s powers were pretty cool but they wasted it because Goku literally just powered up till they didn’t matter.
They're using these forms like merchandise tbh
Thank you for including Baby! Lol

No lie ur right
Almost all the moves in dbz are the same
Theres some exemptions to it like beerus hakai energy, but bruh, it's like since they got the god forms they only got stronger and didnt get any extra abilities from it, they dont experiment with it.
Agreed

I get what you mean. I mean we've seen goku do a unique ki blast that revived him from being killed by hit.
I would be completely fine if the series just focused on Gohan’s adventures as the Great Saiyaman.
I honestly could take even more ranting videos of you in your backyard, I love your train of thought
This is still interesting, and leads to some great fights, but it's just not the same thing that people love Dragon Ball fights for.
it's nice to see these kinda vids from jaxblade

I'm so glad you said this. Your villain doesn't need to be smart or sexy. Just strong. That's the whole show.
JANEMBA A GOAT
they should bring janemba back for another film like broly
Broly is my fav villain. I like both incarnations but the original has such a good soundtrack in his movie. He used grapples, wrestling moves and had more flowing combat because he was fighting multiple people.

dragon ball is just a series that goes “IM STRONGER! NO IM STRONGER” for 20 years. that’s why i only like the original dragon ball
Too bad the human characters didn't get stronger in dbs, it's all about the Saiyans.

I completely agree with teh part where jax is talking abiut how everyone has essentially a different version of the same abilities. I love that Kid Buu is your favorite, its something i rarely hear in the dragon ball community and I completely agree. Kid Buu and Majin Buu in general has always been my favorite villian in dbz. Hes just a pure beast.
This had to be addressed Thank You Jax 🙏🏾
Imo Hit is my favorite, time skipping, and his character is just badass
Cell is my favorite villian, he wasn't even that bad dude, he just wanted be perfect
Please bro can you do a "would that work out work in real life" of BAKI SEASON 4 EPISODE 13. The workout of all prisoners.
Yeah for sure....that'd be gas!
The moment where a SS2 “rage” trunks is as strong/stronger then a super Saiyan God Blue showcases how they had no idea how to powerscale/handle the powerscale mess that is DVZ
Atleast ssb got stronger after that lol
ItsOver666!!!!! Honestly if it wasn’t set before end z and it’s own universe I’d hope those problems could be fixed so main characters could die again
Quickly form Wait so you want Main characters to die?
@@itsover6668 N.... No. End of Z is canon. It was in the manga. It was literally how Toriyama ended the original series. I agree that GT is non-canon because it was an anime only story, and I would honestly be okay with Super getting the same non-canon treatment, but the End of Z is as canon as the rest of the original story (not counting the anime-only filler segments - I am referring exclusively to the manga, just to be clear)
Edit: I will admit there were differences between the End of Z in the anime and in the manga, but that doesn't change the fact the End of Z was part of Toriyama's original story
I need to bing your content Jax... I can vibe to them
They could also just develop one of their spin off properties more.
There are several re-imaginings of the original Dragonball that they could work with, my personal favourite is Path to Power, where they folded the Red Ribbon and Pilaf sagas together and at the same time did their own thing.
Eighter with a built in jetpack is freaking cool!
Never watched MLP but by the sound of his voice I can tell he's an expert so Im inclined to believe him when he says its raw as fuck
I would live for a slice-of-life Dragonball. These characters are at their most interesting when they are just... living life.
Man I can't believe it I seriously clicked on your comment u posted on the DBZA is ending video to find out u had 400k subz bruh my mind is shook
I loved the slice of life stuff because it reminded me of of dragon ball .somewhere along the line z became less about the story and characters and more about the spectacle. There isn't much left to do anymore we have seen them fight for the earth, galaxy, universe, it might be time to end it and let them have lives.
“If you’re back it’s just for marketing.” Rip trunks.
The CHAD Tirek >>>>>> the virgin Moro lmao
Yo really good idea could you make a haikyuu workout because it is one of my faves thanks for helping me to get into better shape ❤️

Dragon ball should definitely reboot I’d love to see what trunks is doing in his universe
I'm buff" LOL XD
.
Reboot the OG Dragonball and put the broly animators on it, I'd watch that shit in an instant.
Shintani Style (DB Super - BROLY) for Original Dragon Ball Series as a Reboot!? I'm totally down for that!
Took a black cat training
The boy with gun in black cat anime
I don't know one of the parts where Buuhan goes in Vegito wasn't the best fight for me, it was very disturbing.
In terms of a Dragon ball reboot, my first thought is to do something like Spiderman life story. Get a talented team, give them a set number of chapters, and allow changes for more time for non sayian characters, and a different yet worthwhile story.
Suggestion: Luke Skywalker TLTT. Rucksack march/run, handstand pushups, and meditation
I just looked up the Moro & Tirek stuff and OMFG its SOO BLATANT, WOOOOW he really is a knock off of a My Little Pony villain who's done much better, I'm crying. I cant, I LITERALLY Can't breathe right now
With the reboot thing FullMetal Alchemist is a perfect example
That’s not a reboot, that’s just them actually following the manga
Jax u seem to like the type of villains that add more to the lore of the dbz world the more alien and special their powers are the more u vibe with em
Good points on Kid Buu. You'd get similar results if you maxed out Piccolos powers and made him batshit insane and hyper aggro. Regeneration, check. Stretchy, check. Duplicates, check. Shoots beams, check. No candy beam, but he could probably still eat you.
Moro is Tirek’s power’s and a lower level version of his personality with Grogar’s Design minus the centaur legs.
