Hi Shawn! My son bought the Abrahms that you featured last year. He's Still loving and playing it in church every week. Loved this story today - Literally hung on to every word! That lady that you spoke of - she lived back in Jesus' day too! She also had a lot of friends that made the same comments to him. Eventually, they spit on Him then hung Him on the cross. Keep following Him and kiss the church "Karens" goodbye! Love your heart!
@@brandonin_ny Brandon I sure do appreciate that man, and I love you too my friend! I love all of you guys, and it’s a pleasure to try and share a little something now and then. No one tells stories anymore it seems, and while I may not be very good at it, at least I will give it a try lol.
Hey Shawn. It's so good to finally hear all these recollections. I remember back when that it was only a thought. Truly a captivating storyline. I've been away from here for awhile with reason, but look forward to following the recall. Be well my friend. B.
There just aren't words to say how thankful and blessed I am that God brought you and the family to Middlesboro! I am sorry about the lady at the church. She proves that often church people can know more Scripture than they are willing to put into practice and sometimes even the Scripture they think they know, they don'treally understand. I wrote a note to myself when you talked about the internal struggle with new ways vs. old ways as we grow. Thank you so much for these stories!
@shrolltrain you know Chuck, after we moved back, a friend asked me how I was liking it at home. I told him, they will never drag me out of here, even if I have to find a tree to live under lol. when I was growing up everyone talked about how you had to leave if you ever wanted to make something of yourself, that may or may not have been true, but I tried it for 24 years, saw the world, only to discover in the end nothing was really better than home, just different. I thank God for you and for the church, you have been a huge blessing to our family!
Great stories, Shawn. You have lived way beyond your years. You need to write a screenplay for a movie it would definitely be a hit. I can definitely say you have inspired me to be a better guitar player. If jesus was ashamed of you, he wouldn't have blessed you like he has.
@@joepayne7843 you know man, I don’t know that a screenplay about me would be worth very much lol. I have for sure lived beyond my ears, I feel like I have lived a few lifetimes honestly, not that I’m complaining about that mind you LOL. I think you are right, I wouldn’t have received the blessings I have without the love of Christ, I just wish I had been wise enough to know that at the time.
You carry a lot of emotion around with you brother clear back to when you where young that woman that judged you in church was a hipakrit no judging people in church no matter what they look like I love hearing your stories sir thxs.

LOL Still laffing over the " with every hit he gave him some wisdom " story ! Great stories as usual Shawn. It sure seems like the good Lord put some great friends in your life along the way, thats very special, good friends are hard to come by. I think we all have a story or two about judgmental Christians from back in the day, they certainly did more harm than good to people. The more I learn from Gods word the better I understand we are not to judge others, we are to be discerning to protect ourself, but not judgmental. Here in these past few years I am learning to be " unoffendable " , this I find difficult at times , but when I know what I am in the Lord's eyes, others opinion just dont seem to matter much. Based on older video's of your I have watched, I thot you were living in Texas ? So I was delighted to hear your in Kentucky ! Some great playing on the Mandolin, I like the sound of one for sure. Looking forward to more of your playing and stories ! Till then May God Bless you Richly my Friend.
@@darrellcollins877 brother I sure loved Texas, but was glad to just pack up and move on back home, even though the winter time is hard for me lol. I find myself freezing to death when it gets below 75 lol. indeed, judgment is a problem that I struggle with, so I have forgiven that lady long ago, as even though I struggle, a lot of times I try not to voice it and I try to reprimand myself when I get involved in judgment. still, Lord knows I ain’t perfect, and like most things, I need to try harder. an interesting thing about hypocrisy in that church; it was about six weeks after my experience there that the pastor got caught in the parking lot with one of the member’s wife. I always wondered what that old lady might have had to say about that.
That's pretty cool you and Michael were that tight. I know y'all had some jams. I can realize you have had a trying life. And that lady at church was wrong for what she did. I love the Lord and got saved at 36 years old. Trust me, I was quite a hellian before that. I regret all the years of drinking and playing places I shouldn't have been. But we all have a past. Except in Gods eyes, thankfully. I was offended by a fellow when I was about 7th grade or so. I was staying in a dorm at a Church camp ground with a friend that was learning guitar like I was. I was sing the song "Bear Tracks" and this fellow got on me and said I couldn't play it there. That offended me for a long time. Maybe I shouldn't have been playing it there, but I don't think that's a bad song. Just not a Church song, lol. Proverbs 18:19 says, "A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city". How true. We all need to remember that one. Wish we lived a little closer, I would love some jam time with you Shawn. Keep the music and the stories coming buddy. EE

Shawn, I want you to know, unlike what the lady told you at church, that Jesus loves you.
