Angelina Jordan signed a record deal with Republic records about a month and a half or two months ago
Actually, some of us have wondered if this was a message to Simon "I'm not a present for you to open....Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". Simon knew at this point she was not under and would not be under contract for anything more than the show. She clicked her heels (no shoes) and ended up at Republic Records.
Simon tried to sign her, she said no. It started a whole debacle where they took the videos of her performances down from their main youtube to not promote her further etc. She signed with Republic Records in August this year instead, the same label as Taylor Swift.
I fear (and suspect) that Angelina didn't do better in the final because Simon couldn't sign her - so he promoted another winner.
AGT did not take it down. Angelina had control of her version and copyrighted to her company Angelina Jordan INC. she and her company requested it.
People really need to stop repeating this story. It has no basis in truth and it’s origins can only be found in people’s imaginations. There is a well publicized interview by a Norwegian music industry site with Michael Astar, Angelina’s uncle and business manager. The link is below. He explains that they had not agreed for Angelina to go on the show specifically because they weren’t willing to sign away any of her rights. While the story doesn’t state this, I’m pretty sure that Simon Cowell is not an idiot, and he understands how things work in the music business. He is a businessman. Angelina had and incredible following of huge names in the music industry, including Quincy Jones and David Foster, maybe THE two most influential folks in that world. Angelina had nothing to gain by signing her rights away, unlike most contestants who are desperate for exposure. Simon is capable of figuring that out.
Her uncle states that the show eventually agreed to “give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs”. Simon Cowell was well aware, long before she first uttered the words “Anywhere the wind blows” that she was not going to be bound to sign a contract with him. Cowell doesn’t hide his feelings very well, and from where I sat, every single time he was shown during or after one of her performances, he was in awe. She was there because he wanted her to perform on the show.
There is another video by John Master Lee (“React to the World“ channel) where he provides a pretty rational explanation of why her Bohemian Rhapsody performance most likely wasn’t posted on the AGT channel and debunking the myth that this was something that only happened to Angelina Jordan. That link is also below. He also has a series of videos exposing the theatrics and manipulation by the producers of that show, but just to be clear, one thing he never says is that the votes are fixed. That’s where we start getting into tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy territory. And we don’t need to invoke that to explain why Angelina didn’t win or even finish in the top five. The “super fans” are frankly a bunch People magazine-toting TV addicts (OK I might be projecting a little there but that’s the image I have of them) who don’t really have a clue and get really excited by circus acts - including circus acts where a man sings as both a tenor and a soprano - and sob stories.
I’ve done it myself, too many times to want to admit. But we need to think carefully about the sources behind things that we post here. We have a tendency to post things because somebody else said them. Again, I’ve done it. Stories get twisted and perverted along the way. And then our understanding of Angelina’s universe becomes based more on fiction and fantasy than fact.

I actually think the true story, as told by Michael Astar, is a better one. It shows that Angelina is in good hands, and she is going to need that in the years to come.
@@xartisan576 I completely agree. It’s also a testament to the influence she already had in the industry, just by virtue of her talent. It’s not just anyone who can dictate those kinds of terms to a television powerhouse like AGT. And Simon said it himself. She made that show better just by being there.
She signed recently with Republic Records as a "Highly Preferred Artist," meaning she is guaranteed top-level treatment from marketing and artist development at the label. This is extremely rare for a new artist on her first recording contract. The label has on its roster... Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd and many others. Look out world... here she comes.
Actually Simon can invoke a record deal with any contestant, even take over her management. It's all part of the fineprint of the artist contract everybody has to sign. Well except her, because her manager used their urgent need for spectacular acts to negotiate a non-binding special deal contract. So you've been just watching a man who's looking at the largest jackpot of his life thats been hunted by the whole music industry for years like some sort of holy grail, knowing it's utterly out of reach ;-)
Actually, Angelina refused to sign Simon's SyCo Music/AGT contract. All the judges knew from the start of the auditions that she wouldn't be able to win.
I couldn't have said it better, you're right on spot with that comment, and yes!! to have that treasure right in front of you but somehow you can't reach it, it feels like is in another dimension that you can see but can't touch hahaha well said.

her golden buzzer was bohemian rhapsody from queen. the group queen heard angelinas version and said it was better than freddys cuz freddy just screamed and jumped around and they tryed to drowned him out with the instruments. they signed over the copy rights to angelina for her version and they have her version on their website.

Bohemian Rhapsody AGT, she received the golden buzzer. Yellow Brick Road was the second song on that series. The third song was the Lewis Capaldi cover, Someone You Love.
AGT has been trying to get Angelina for their show since she won NGT IN 2014,but as others have pointed out here her uncle and manager Michael Astar didn't and doesn't want a Simon contract limiting her artistry.Republic Records competing with others won the honor of launching this musical genius as a priority new artist.

AGT has been trying since '14 to get her on their shows, Disney and several other labels have flown to Norway trying to sign her since '14, but her family remained firm in their control of her immediate future. She knows she's "elite" without ANYone telling her. Christ, she wanted to go on Norway's Got Talent when she was 5, and her mom made her wait! But please, don't let your reactions be about the judges, stay on the performer. Thanks

I guess you haven't been keeping up with Angelina in the news. She originally refused to appear on AGT due to the contract requirements that are standard for all contestants, but they were eventually waived so she would join the show. (The version of Bohemian Rhapsody you reacted to is the one she released after AGT, which she could do because of the contract waiver). There's a ton of rumors about the circumstances of why she didn't win having to do with the contract situation, but I'll leave that alone because that's all they are, rumors.

The Golden Buzzer one was "Bohemian Rhapsody" and most of the clips of that performance cut off before Heide pushes the button for her. It's part of the conspiracy theory that that the show stopped promoting Angelina. Angelina only performed 2 songs and then another in the final show that did not count for the competition. The AGT the Champions is a cheap knockoff of America's Got Talent where America was not allowed to vote directly for contestants rather some hand picked mysterious "super fans" supposedly from all 50 states got to vote. AGT the Champions was totally taped months before actual TV showings with no live shows.
I know I'm really late here, but… I can guarantee you, you got at least 10 people telling you she got the golden buzzer for her perofrmance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" on AGT:C when you reacted to the studio version of that song. Just read your comments…

Just curious where info on her height is coming from (besides just being passed from one commenter to another)? Terry Crews on AGT is 6'2" (from several online biosources), so with shoes around 6'3"? Standing next to Angelina, he was far more than 3 inches taller. According to several online bio's, both Heidi and Simon are 5'9" without heels.
Every time her height is mentioned, it seems to get taller and taller... It doesn't really matter but I would like a more definitive answer before hearing about her super height. Lately, I've heard everything from 5'4" to 6'1". I would put her at around 5'9" to 5"10" at the most. Regardless, she's the best singer in the world!!
