Man, I have to BEG people to come do baron. When they finally come do it we win. But I have lost too many games because our team tunnel visions, dies in enemy base, and then enemy takes baron.
Yup. I see that issue a lot too. We could have gold advantage and all kinds of leads but people are terrified of doing baron for some reason. Even after a couple picks.
Very instructive game. You mention that it was easy because it was a counterpick but somethings only a counter pick if you actually know what makes a counter a counter. This was very instructive from that point of view.
Yo Shok, I'm happy you're learning Irelia as somebody who plays the champ quite a bit after subscribing to Irelking. One thing that I don't see you thinking about is your end position in your Q-series, whatever Q's you do during this (especially when clearing minion waves) don't matter except for the last one where your end position will be. When you're clearing waves and trying to stack passive you are Qing the three casters to last one, when you can be Qing caster minion #2>#3>#1 to end up near melees/cannon to keep clearing wave with autos. If you're looking to push as fast as possible towards a tower, you want to Q a caster minion at the end of clearing the wave to be a position to keep moving forward. If you're trying to fast clear a non-cannon wave before retreating, Full charge W hitting 3 melees then Qing minion 2>minion 4>minion 6>minion 5>minion 3>minion 1 will put you into starting position. There's tons of waves to manipulate it, but you're mainly just thinking about end position. Hopefully this helps! It's weird to explain over text.
SHOK ON IRELIA 😩👌 Irelia is one of my favorite champs, and while I’m mechanically very good at her I can never play this well because I always push on accident vs harder match ups. This video was so fun to watch!!
I'd love it if you blinded some Champs that are not very blindable in your unranked to master series because most of your uploads you have a good matchup and show how to punish it. I feel like it would be cool to see you salvage a bad matchup
I cant wait in the future when technology evolves to the point when people can download other people's brains and insert data into their own and everyone will be able to play like shok
you know how to play a lot of champs. Do you think that is neccessary to have a big champion pool to climb high elo so you can counter your opponent or main one champ so you dont have to remember how to play every champ?
If your goal is to climb, 1-2 champs is generally the rule for climbing. You can only play one champ per game anyways so you might as well bring your full experience every game. Obviously some champs have awful matchups and sometimes your ap champ doesn't work well with your rumble/eve top side. Some people just choose to dodge those games if they are a one-trick, but having at least 1 ad in your pool is good. 3 champs is pretty standard for a pool, but when you get to 5+, then you are likely doing too much.
imo keep your champ pool somewhere in the 2-4 range, I know how to play a lot of champions because I've played a long time + I just have good fundamentals overall, but I 2 tricked my way to master originally and 3 tricked my way to challenger
5 whole days friends, until the truth is revealed unto our eyes, may your bio-arcane barrages be blissful and your icathian suprises be intrinsic. i will see you all on the other side of hope, KogNation.
I mean the video is probably good and I will at least give it a try later, but wave control videos with Irelia in general just suck. Irelia is like the single champion that is best able to dictate wavestates in midlane which I guess showcases optimal play? but other than that is not really useful. People would not struggle with wave control if they could play the wave freely (look at irelia mid otps - they mostly play waves decently cause their champ thrives on wavecontrol and abuses it heavily early game. It would be way more interesting in control mage matchups or assasin matchups where one side has not the ability to perma cheat waves if the need arises.
he doesnt play assasians, and youre talking about control mages wave managment? he has so many control mage and mage in general wave managment video that like a quarter of his road to rank 1 last season videos
but is not about irelia, is just freezing : an important fundamental to win lane and not all people know how to do it or they dont care. it doesnt matter if its irelia, yasuo or syndra.
@@ShokLeague oh yeah I know and I really like those, I just noticed in the last couple of weeks that most of the videos about wave control (not from you specifically but in general) are made when Irelia lanes in a good matchup, Maybe should have worded my comment differently since it comes of more criticizing than I wanted it to be, sorry for that.

It’s wild that it’s taken me 10+ years to find someone high rank that actually breaks down his thought process in game. It’s such a huge help
I feel the same way! Even more so cos he's a kiwi like me haha
Pekinwoof is also a midlaner youtuber that's chill and explains his thought process! Watching both pekin and shok helped me improve a lot.

100%. Or see a game where he is counterpicked/forced to neutralise rather than having a winning matchup
I do have a couple more difficult matchups coming!
Great content. Have anything on games that you’re the only one on the team with kills?
I do have a couple 1v9 performances coming
yes more of irelia plz. such a cool champ and her playstyle.
21:17 most based irelia
"i should probably stay on the map until i have steraks, which is now"
why did this kill me lol
Hey do you think Vex, Ahri and Asol is enough for me to main?
get some AD in there. I recommend Jayce.
Should be solid, you could add an AD pick if you wanted but I don't think its 100% required
I cant wait in the future when technology evolves to the point when people can download other people's brains and insert data into their own and everyone will be able to play like shok

I've always heard u should have 3 to 4 champs 2 ap and 2 ad

I have many examples of control mage wave control in my other videos so check some of those out
