I often heard that low elo players make tons of mistakes that Challenger players can easily exploit. But nothing has ever shown me this fact better than this series. You didn't cheese, you didn't greed, you just played correctly in every matchup. You opponents lost by a thousand cuts every single time. Losing my flash or dying to random ganks would often completely ruin my chances of carrying but here you were showing how to ward & lean. You didn't do any super extreme jungle tracking or anything, just placed a ward in river and leaned on it. You've mentioned a long time ago that you have like a "trigger" where you check the minimap more often when you're pushed up, and this was shown beautifully in these games where the enemy junglers just simply couldn't touch you. You were ungankable. This takeaway is the single biggest difference maker in my games. I went on huge winning streaks off of this alone. Another thing I never paid much attention to is TP vs Ignite. You made a huge point about how taking good trades against ignite can deny a ton of waves. I tried this in my own games against a player who ran ignite... Respected the all-in potential, but poked out 'em out of lane twice or so. He became utterly useless for the rest of the game and blamed his jungler. Crazy. Speaking of denying waves, you often fast shove to punish roaming champions. That game against the katarina was an absolute masterclass. She lost lane, took coinflip roams, but the advantages from denying the waves added up... and by the end of the game she was oneshotted if you even looked in her general direction. Another takeaway is to punish opponents who go for greedy/scaling runes. You essentially said that they lose on the spot. Taught me that runes can have an astronomical impact on the matchup. Of course, it takes a while for a gold player like me to actually execute all of these takeaways. My mental APM is still dogwater and I often miss important things on the minimap. I don't have all the matchups or cooldowns memorized like you, so I still lose lane sometimes. But the times where I'm winning, I'm winning x10 harder. Thank you for this series, it's the most educational series I've ever seen on the game. League of legends now went from a horror game to a stimulating intellectual exercise!
Graphics are fucking sick man, one suggestion for unranked 2 master, you should vod review the first 5-10 and explain what the victor did wrong or could do better
Hey Shok! Do you think ghost is bad on mid laners? When I was playing Brand I played with it and I also use it on Galio. It feels pretty good for fighting, but is TP just too OP?
I think if people know how to punish you for not taking TP then it's pretty rough, in lower elos though taking ghost is probably better (if you don't know how to use TP)
I need help with my champion pool, the only champ I genuinely like in the whole game is talon but he is so miserable to play, should I just cope with akali or what, change my player identity as a whole and start playing mages?
@@ShokLeague thank you so much for the reply, I'm feeling much better with him, I just had an unlucky streak where every single game I was playing had a really really hard matchup and it was frustrating me, i did play naafiri for a while and she's cool but I like talon more, honestly I just need to learn how to play the difficult matchups and how to have an impact when not ahead, I think I'm doing well all things considered since I climbed from silver 4 to plat 3 in 2 weeks, I'm just scared I'll get stuck here or in emerald, the only way around hard matchups I've found is going tp instead of ignite
@@FrameWinnerTennis well you can kind of see it in the video in thosw times in lane where shok wasnt ganked. It's basically impossible to consistently dodge brand e. You get good poke while also instantly shoving the wave. Personally I don't feel like I struggle into brand mid as I play a lot of xerath who outranges, outscales and can match the wave clear after getting a few levels and items. I would certainly say brand has counterplay and it's not too hard to come out even or win lane with the right champs, however, he does have a lot of things that are just incredibly straight forward and easy to do consistently.
Ayo boss that edit on first recall is nuts, you're definitely upping the stakes. Keep going!
4:30 WHOAA SICK ! what a sick edit hahaha
I was thinking the same thing, extremely useful for some bad at math like me lol
scrolled down to post this comment
love the graphics on recalls!! would be cool if you could add plates as well, to give a more complete picture of the gold differences
Ooh good idea

You can definitely get high elo with Talon, I would just stick with him if you enjoy him. Or maybe try another AD assassin like Naafiri?

I remember saying "I hope brand mid becomes viable again" on your last mid lane tier video. It's my fault y'all.
Hey! Any Annie game coming soon?
I may play one but I don't really play her
My goat
A vex game would be amazing
Don't even need to watch this to agree.. is my perma ban for a while now. Shocking that he hasn't been nerfed.
Easy to punish even small positioning mistakes.
@@FrameWinnerTennis yes but still too much reward for zero skill or experience. Allows bad players to go even/win lanes
@@sacuv5704 ? just dodge his skillshots.
