    100% regret sharing. They were okay hearing the struggle but called me a show off when i was surpassing them. Lesson taught and learned :)

    A real friend will respect your choices even if they don’t understand it. I didn’t share when we were getting out of debt with too many friends, just the ones I trusted. Not every one is happy for your success, some will make fun of judge you. But you just gotta do what’s best for you.
    Great points made , enjoyed watching your video.

    Certain people weaponize all personal information against you. It's a very good idea to keep your finances private because they're probably going to be gossiped about and that information can fall into the wrong hands. If people ask about your money, they're either trying to size you up or take it from you. Zero upside, a lot of downside.

    It's sad that I thought I could trust my long-time friend, telling him that I had no credit card debt and on track to paying off my car. Instead of being happy for me, he tried to 'flex' and show me some fancy Chase Platinum card that he had, listing all the 'perks'. He also asked when I was going to 'upgrade' my car since I have a kia sedan and he has a Mazda SUV. Nope! Never again. I've been moving in silence ever since and continue to live below my means.

      People are pathetic. Bought a new car, good for you. Blew all your money on a drug fueled binge in Vegas, good for you. Cleared your debt, invested hundreds of thousands in the markets and retired in peace and happiness, even better for you.

    People always laugh at the car I drive, especially the women, the black women, and I'm a brother. Unbeknownst to them, I have a couple of million in my account, and I'm retiring in 12 months in my 40's. It's funny how people judge and not knowing the secret to wealth is simple being content with God. Because to Love God and his word, there's no desire for the world. I spend all my time at the park reading my Bible. Not caring about anything else. I just love buying people cars, roofs, houses, and food. In

      That’s AMAZING!! Wow! And that’s the way to live. Contentment is the key to a successful life when you’re trying to live for The Most High. And yet you are still wealthy without needing to show it off. I love this!!! Thank you for sharing!💙

    I disagree - discussions on pay is the only way the society can progress towards pay equity. I also think another commenters point about real friends being respectful is the right path.
    The mentality of “we don’t talk about money in this society” is the reason why financial literacy is so poor. Talk about it and share the knowledge.

    • @Velveification
      @Velveification 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The problem come from parents not teaches finance to their children. Instead of teaching all this social stuff, school should teach being responsible.
      But teaching personal responsibility is taboo.

    • @sobeliever1638
      @sobeliever1638 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but I think it is wise to not talk about it to just anyone unless you have a platform.

      100%!!! My parents taught me little about money and finances. Mostly because of old school “We don’t discuss money” but partially due to their own lack of knowledge.
      I’ve taken a long time to pay off debt, save and grow. I’m teaching my child EVERYTHING. If I see friends or family not doing great I’ll offer to help with advice but if they say no thanks then fine, that’s their business and I respect that.
