I'd love to know how to set up a stocks and shares isa...i sighed up but felt so overwhelmed by all the different options. Did you do yours through a highstreet bank or did you see a financial advisor? TIA x

Me & my husband are both self employed and we get paid each day as we work so it’s very difficult to keep track of our income. Do you have any tips for our situation?

If you have the margin to start, you could budget retrospectively. I know someone who puts all their earned money as it comes in into a savings account. Then the next month she knows how much she’s earning that month because it’s already in her account. Then repeat the process. While you’re living off of last month’s earnings, you put the new month’s earnings into savings.
Or, can you accurately forecast how much you’ll earn? Is there a minimum amount you know you’ll always get? Then make sure your everyday expenses are under this minimum. Then list your wants/extra expenses in order of importance and pay them in order as you earn it. Dave Ramsey has some good tips on budgeting with irregular income. Good luck xx

I would set a date per month to treat as a “payday” and use what ever money is left in your acc/joint acc then use this money to save/invest - doesnt mean change your habits, but add a habit of squirrelling money.. I don’t really scrimp or aim for a savings amount, rather just use what ever is left at the end of each month.. I put 50% into my Monzo easy access per month at 4.1% interest, 25% into stocks and shares and 25% as rainy day or paying off debt like mortgage etc I do this regardless of whether I’ve saved £10 or £500

Great to hear how well you've done! I find cash stuffing to be great too, but digital stuffing so I don't lose it haha. It's great to pick yourself up and try again if you do feel like you've not managed to achieve what you want, rather than spiralling and feeling like you've "failed" - much better mindset! xx

Best of luck! It's such an amazing feeling once you've done it - remember it doesn't last forever, and it is such a weigh lifted once it's done. Good luck! x
