Okay but this also partly comes down to what kind of games you want to play. A big appeal of PC gaming to me are "PC" exclusives (saying this even if they are also available for Mac/Linux) like Total War, World of Warcraft, Endless Legend, and Age of Empires. Things like 4k also don't matter because I'm not playing on a 60-inch display.
True, by gaming I'm not just playing purely RPG, FPS, or recently releasd AAA titles, but also more diverse genres (and usually involve more grinding and researching that could easily surpass thousands of hours) like city builder, empire management, 4X, simulation, factory-like
This is probably the single biggest factor to be honest. We wouldn't sit around arguing if a nice steakhouse is better than a nice Sushi restaurant, we'd just go eat what we wanted. The same is true with gaming platforms it really depends on what you want.
Honestly i prefer pc, but im a controller guy and i hate games that are not full controller support. And most pc exclusives aren't which sucks fuxkin ass! JS 😁😁😁😁😁😁😂😂😂😂
Usual console points but you can hook up a PC to a TV too, and consoles now install games, updates, fixes etc. consoles have a pre configured software windows is a OS doing many task. Console price is "cheaper" but adding on the subscription fee, lack of sales to locked to one digital store, it's not. PC has a higher cost yes but you can tweak it all PC has *OPTIONS* and tons of them! and no paid online!
That's basically how i use my PC, it feels no different to how my Xbox One S felt, constant updates, logins, troubleshoots, that's why i moved to PC, because since last gen consoles just feels like locked down PC's, and for many problems you can mitigate it on PC, not to metion PC being an open ecosystem with options, PC's has multi generational worth of games, emulation, you can still find games that has been de listed thanks to the people who cracks and repacks games lol, no paid online, you can create your physical backups if you want to for most games, you can settings to play some older games even on weaker gpu's and you're not tethered to one OS.
I'm nearly in the same boat. I got my first PC in 2012. It was an i7 4770k and a GTX 770. It was a whole other world compared to console, mods, higher frames, higher resolutions, more options. I was playing at 1080p 60fps out of the gate. The Xbox 360 was a 720p 30fps machine that just couldn't compete. Its years later now, I'm passionate about my computer, I have an r9 7950x3d and a 7900xtx, I run 3x 1440p 144hz displays and the console won't won't have an experience like this for years and years. My last GPU actually died after only a year, a 6900xt which also blew the socks off any console experience, but while it was out of commission I went stir crazy and bought a ps5 off a friend so I could play games at all. I'd heard good things about the ps5, the games, the graphics. So I hooked it up to my 4k 120hz hdr10 miniled tv.... And forbidden west on vrr runs at like 20-30 fps and looks... Okay? It just doesn't run good at all. Racket and Clank rift apart looked okay and ran better but is definitely not 4k. Session skate Sim also ran okay. But eventually I got my PC back and I went back to greatness. A couple days ago I had the ich to turn on the ps5 and get use out of it before my missus complains about the fancy paperweight. I turn it on, I start up session, go get a drink, the game still hasn't loaded check my phone, and still stuck. I try restarting the machine (literally all the troubleshooting you can do) and it still won't load. Now I have an actual paperweight. Consoles don't hold a candle to PC's for now and I don't think ever will, they're made for the masses and also cut themselves to a price someway or another.
People unironically associate PC gaming with high end but the places where PC gaming do thrive are the places where most people have lower end PCs just because it can run the games they care to play on it
esport titles are the low end as their aimed to run on most low level hardware yes, to high end is mostly those maxing out games with mods and then VR.
y mayeb thats true but if u take out the whole PC gamers consoles will die really fast cause GamePass on PC is allmost 200% up while Xbox GP is going down and as for PS their pick sales numbers are 20m capped think about it 118m PS4 users and GOW 2018 sold only 18m copies for 2y,Spiderman 118m PS4 users sold only 33m copies while the cost of those games are going up every single day,i think i heard that Forspoken's cost was aroudn half a billion
@@christonchev9762 I think AI tools will need to progress and become more deeply integrated to simplify and speed up development of new AAA games which are starting to get so large in scope that they're almost unfeasible. Raytracing is one of those tools that can benefit the developer even more so than the end consumer, and other technologies in UE5 will have a similar, efficiency magnifying properties for developers.
This makes sense though. My girlfriend plays on PC and loves Metroidvanias and cozy games. I also like a lot of emulated retro games on PC. This takes little to no power.
My friend plays on a really crappy pc. Tbh I don't see the point, why not buy a console for better experience at that price range if most pc players are around there
I play on PC, Xbox as well as my Switch. Here’s my take: I think that objectively the PC has more advantages, I would prefer to play many games on PC rather than console. However, the possible low entry price of a console is a advantage, if your fine spending more later on, which varies in terms of price person to person. If someone were to give me a budget of around $500 that they were looking to spend on a gaming device, I’d personally recommend either-or, console or a budget pc, depending on what games they play. I enjoy playing on the three platforms that I own regardless, I will not say equally however, I find that sometimes it just depends on the time to determine if I’ll play on my PC or on my consoles, which for me it’s PC for the most part. I’ll say this: I see no reason to ridicule people for choosing a console over a pc, that’s just rude. But I think that advocating for better consumerism on consoles is necessary. These platforms are definitely not equal, but at the end of the day it’s up to the individual to decide, because people can choose on whatever the want.
That’s why I don’t want a desk job. It’s crossed my mind that looking at a monitor all day at work will make video games not fun when I get home because I’m basically doing the same thing. My job is physical now so going home to sit down feels great.
Personally I feel that pc gaming is more worth it once you've done the initial hardware investment No subscriptions to pay and the games are objectively cheaper especially on steam I had to skip ps5 and go with PC because I couldn't personally cope with the high game prices and terrible deals in the digital store
Totally agree. I have a PS5, first console I've owned since the gamecube, and I was blown away when I opened up the store and was introduced to $125 ($AUD) games that were months old (Horizon FW for example before it went on PS+). I still find the concept of paying to play online strange.
So just picked the last few games I played. God of War is $20 on PS5 and $50 on Steam. DMC5 is $24.99 on PS5 and $9.99 on Steam. Street Fighter 6 is $59.99 on both platforms. To get a gaming PC running recommended specs on SF6 it would cost roughly $1100 could probably get down to $900 if I got creative. It costs $15 a month to get online play (bullshit) and that comes with a catalog of free games to play on PS5 and it's discounted to $100 a year paid up front. So doing the math even with the $100 a year for online access and factoring games in at 20-30% less on Steam which isn't always the case plus not counting free games to download on Xbox game pass or PS plus it would take 4 years to make a PC purchase financially catch up to a PS5 or Xbox series x. The saddest part is that the consoles will probably be good for another 3-5 years and the PC will be needing more upgrades because the i7 and RTX 2070 wouldn't be cutting it by then. That's not even getting into exclusives and ease of use. I think a lot of it comes down to the type of gamer someone is. A gamer playing lot of one player action RPGs like myself is going to come out ahead on console most times. If I was a competitive FPS player that keyboard, mouse, and 120 Frames would be huge despite the costs.
As I’m currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 on my PC (not at the highest settings) and it looks better than the PS5. I think its the same situation i’m seeing when re-purchasing PS3 games on Steam. On PC it will look better and later down the line when/if you replay them your gonna be glad you bought them on PC, it will look better and you’ll probably have a better chance of still being able to play it. On PS4 & PS5 i cant access my PS3 library. The gap however is closing graphically, I’m just not sure consoles will ever be as good as a top end PC but depends what you want and what you can put up with. Console is good value for money. I feel you on office/man cave. I have the same situation. I bought a mini PC to play most games downstairs (have a mini keyboard for when i need it) , even leaving my 4k TV behind, games look fine in 1080p, Cyberpunk looks amazing.. Use my laptop for more recent games.
meanwhile i treat my pc like a console which doubles as my media centre, it's hooked up to my TV, i use a controller, and navigation isn't a problem, since i just bought myself a handheld keyboard/Mouse, it's has a qwerky keyboard and trackpad, once it's setup, it's as convenient as a console, with the added bonus of it being a pc, so endless options, i play PS2 games like i would back in the day on my tv via emulation(but much better) and if i use steam i can use big picture mode, which is a console interface.
I own a PC and a ps5 and honestly, for current gen i think console is the way to go. I have a 3060 with a ryzen 7 5800x3D and 32gb ram and for older games it kills it in 1080p. 100 fps no problem on ultra... but the new titles coming out, my ps5 can play in a performance mode at 4k and my PC just cant match that. Harry Potter, jedi survivor, elden ring, last of us remaster.. all very difficult to run on PC. Starfield is a mess on nvidia gpu's and cyberpunk just released a warning to pc users as the DLC is designed to run your cpu at 90% so upgrade your cooling! Yea no... im just going to play the cyberpunk DLC on my ps5 in 4k at 60fps. I think these are the factors pushing pc players towards console. You just cant afford that expierence right now when you can get an equal or better expierence on a 500$ console
As basically a lifelontg console player, i had a gaming rig for a little while during the 2010's but i mainly used it to make YT videos for my ps3 clan 😅 i actually think there has never been a better time to get a PC and thats what i plan to do later this year. Consoles have never been more expensive, PC parts are generally always getting cheaper. Console exclusives are all going to come to PC, plus there are just so many more things you can do with a PC besides gaming that can make the extra cost of one worth it for people. I also feel like consoles need updates just as often as windows these days 😅
Windows updates are usually once a month and you can do them when you Shut off your pc before you go to bed or something. Also he kind of overexaggerated with having to do alot og updates. Ive played pc for almost 8 years now and the only update that you have to start manually are either Driver updates for your Mous/Keyboard/Headset (they all work without updating anything) and Graphics drivers (always get a popup message when a new driver is available)
PC is better and will always be better. Didnt watch the video but just commenting this as i see the title. Edit: If your someone who only plays games like NBA 2k and casually other games. and when i say casually i mean you probably only game like every other week or day. meaning you play but barely. just get a console. PC will always give you the better experience. but to compare each other performance wise. PC is and will always be better. Also if you say PC is expensive its not... i mean it CAN be but it dosent have to be. The selection of parts is a wide variety. You can build a console equivalent which is a Ryzen 7 3700x , RTX 2070 super and 16gb ram for 500 dollars or even less if you buy from the right places. I dont hate console but its just strange how in 2024 this is even still a discussion. At this point its whatever you prefer but just so you do KNOW PC is and will always be better.
I do agree with you but PC parts pretty much are only that cheap in the United States. That setup you listed would be way above the 500 dollars budget in the UK and most other countries with them also earning much less money. I definitely think it's worth getting a PC over a console just worth saying the value in a console could be much more competitive depending on where you live for example.
Oh yeah definitely. But in the long run pc will be the cheaper choice. you also gotta factor in your paying like what 15 to 20 dollars a month on xbox live or playstation network online subscription. your basically still paying for the console you already bought. you bought the console game and you paid for your internet and now they are asking you to PAY again to play that same game online? ludicrous.@@Bargate
Well said. Your points align with my current situation. I'm at a point where I need to upgrade my GPU, at least, to play the latest AAA games at 1440, or even 4K. Looking at the price of a decent GPU here in Australia, even previous gen, is enough to push me to a PS5. I could, for example, get a PS5, extra controller, charging dock, and some used games for less than a single decent 1440 high fps or 4K 60 GPU. As I don't play any online multiplayer games, that extra cost is not relevant to me.
This is how I ended up with a PS5. I played God of War on PC and was starting to play more action games etc. My GTX1650 Ryzen 5 setup wasn't cutting it anymore so I was going to upgrade and realized the $1200-$1500 to get what I needed so I got a PS5 with GoW Ragnarok for $550.
Yea good luck with playing triple A games on a PS5 i played Horizon forbidden west in 1440p on the performance setting with ~50 frames max. Its just as unplayable just stick to 1080p on pc and wait for a time where u are more financially inclined to upgrade your pc
@@Annihilation99 certainly not my experience. My experience is the exact opposite actually. Very playable on both performance and quality settings, so is Hogwarts Legacy. It's quite rude of you to suggest someone waits till they are more "financially inclined" since you have no idea about their circumstances.
@@Annihilation99 Not a PS5, but I regularly hit 60fps/4K on my XSX. My console can push up to 120fps at 4k w/ ray tracing, but my monitor doesn't support that.
Hey thank you!! I may have skipped the PS4 but I'd be lying if I said there weren't some great games I missed because of that. Definitely going to have some catching up to do!
I have exactly the thing that mentioned in 15:20. I have work issued laptop and KVM switch with personal PC that by default login into passwordless account in big picture mode (and also starts Virtual desktop). It ever had Xbox one startup sound but for some reason it plays default sound now. Also i have custom bios picture that says xbox 720 and Aqua Shift controller. I use projector for couch gaming, since i have no way to mount a TV, and 65+" TVs are expensive.
Great video, I have all 3 option and to be honest I end up on my ps5 because you just turn it on and play. I love my pc and when I want to get sweaty on a fps then I will play on pc which is like once a week. I actually build a separate desk setup for game and have my work desk so I can feel the detachment.
PC is the same. I pick up my controller, press start button and Big Picture Opens and I can select a game and play. No different from Console for pick-up and play.
we're relatively early in the life cycle of the 9th gen consoles, so a pc with the same price as a ps5 can be expected to perform more or less the same (best case scenario) or worse, this is not new. what's new, however, is that the market is so fucked up to the point that even people are, more than ever, turning to and interested in previous gen hardware and especially gpus. this is simply unacceptable. the cpu side of things is quite healthy and competitive tho
Last gen Gpus still perform far better than any console. For nvidia even the 20 series are still great for 1440o gaming without any issue. Dlss is great for these older Gpus.
@@Annihilation99 >far better than any console yeah right. last gen console promised (upscaled) 4k at 30 fps. and they delivered. PC on the other hand.... and on top of that, cryptomining boom was a thing
The pricing is such a great great point: These days if you want to build a pc that matches a PS5 spec for spec you're gonna be paying literally twice as much. PC gaming is starting to be priced out of its target market. And terrible pc ports of Triple A games doesn’t help either.
@@Annihilation99 I keep seeing this argument but you could buy a PS5 and a decent home PC and still have money leftover for a Switch compared to a dedicated gaming rig. Sorry but to use your analogy that's like buying a Ferrari to go grocery shopping and to the office.
Nah, I can build a PS5 equivalent PC for around $600-700 now that prices have settled down a bit after the pandemic. Even PS5 class SSDs have dropped significantly to the point where I just got a 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 for $59 a few weeks ago. The biggest advantage of all is getting to bypass all the console war nonsense and being able to play the best of PS5 and Xbox all in one system, play all the PC games that don’t exist on consoles, and easily emulate the Switch. Then there’s the obvious benefit of being a full computer that can do so much more than any of them.
@@tronam Spec to spec? Yes we could easily make a PC at the same price. Performance for the price? Nah absolutely not. It's the one place consoles have people by the balls, the optimization is quite impressive. Switch is easy to Emulate PS4 and especially PS5 not so much and PC ports haven't been anywhere near as good as their console counterparts. Which is subject to change because the PS3/360 era I would argue the PC ports were actually the best way to play.
@@sadisticD I don’t find the optimization that impressive at all, at least not yet. So far current-gen consoles haven’t yet lived up to their apparent potential. How’s that 8K and 4K/120 gaming going after all the lead up hype and marketing? How is ray/path tracing coming along or AI upscaling? Even lower midrange PCs are outclassing the 2019 era hardware of these consoles and you get all the other advantages of a computer. I also save so much money on Steam sales, $10/mo GP and not being required to pay a ridiculous sub fee just for multiplayer.
If you don’t care about backing up your save data or emulating older consoles, then consoles are the play. I’ll take my limitless library of cheap games though. Games which I’ll be able to play again with my backed up save data 50 years from now, no problem
Without question PC is STILL better than any console out there. Not because of graphics and frame rate (or any of that other trivial shit) but for one simple reason... FREEDOM. The freedom to play what you want, how you want with no arbitrary cock blocking like payed subscriptions and the like (looking at you PS+). Switched to PC gaming a decade ago and haven't looked back since. Best decision of my life.
Dont forget we also get access to more gamepad support. Every gamepad can work. I have the OG Xbox controller that I plug into my PC with a USB converter to play modern games with and it's fantastic that this option even exists but no modern consoles can use it sadly.
PC gaming has always been a joke. Constantly missing out on the big is the best games absolutely no first party. It's top selling most played games look like mobile quality garbage and are like 20 to 25 years old. PC gamers only think it's relevant because they get old console ports. It's like African countries thinking the losing super bowl team merchandise that they got means that that team actually won.
been thinking about selling my ps5 and xbox one s and getting a pc. paying (i think) $120/yr for sonys version of gamepass ultimate + $70 a game is pretty rough. it’s the reason i’m not paying $60/yr for xbox live so i’m missing out on some cross play games my friends and i wanna play. i figure even if i spend an extra $800 on top of the presumed $700 from my consoles on a fairly high end build, i’ll at least break even on cost over the course of a console generation/need for a pc upgrade. thoughts on this? also great video and sorry for the word vomit lol
A big reason I got into PC gaming was so that I could play with my friends again, so it’s totally worth it. If you haven’t already I would check out pcpartpicker, that site has some good build guides that might give you some ideas if you’re thinking of building one yourself. Prebuilt PCs are also a valid options too, although I’m not as familiar with those. Nothing feels better than playing games online and knowing you aren’t paying Microsoft/Sony extra cash to use your own internet, that’s for sure!
@@RobSotototally! so many games like deep rock galactic im missing out on bc of sony and microsoft being so weird about cross play. i’ve been using pcpartpicker forever, always wanted to build a pc but especially over the last couple years it just wasn’t realistic for me with the prices of gpus. thinking i’m gonna go with a r7 5800x3d with a 6800 xt, might wait and see 4070/4060/7800/7700xt prices but probably won’t be better price to performance (4070 msrp for $650 at the very least). definitely looking forward to not having to pay extra to be able to use the internet i pay for LMAO
@@logangagnier8937 6800, 6950 are looking juicy at the moment with the recent price cuts. AMD's 7900XT/X are also offer a great performance to price currently. Alternatively, if you don't want to make the switch now, GPU prices will continue to drop. Just avoid anything with
PC gaming is also the most accessible and cheapest to get into, someone with a very limited pocket can buy an old office pc and get a gpu like a GTX 1050 ti, GTX 1650 or even the RX 6400 and and slap in there with some extra ram, and they can play games, and even if you maybe don't have a powerful pc, there's always something that will work on your rig and work quite well, also no add up of costs like paying for an online service and games are generally cheaper on PC. Also there's emulation and still being able to find game that have been delisted and PC is a great way to access games of previous generations.
Depending on the type of gaming someone does this is absolutely true. My girlfriend has a cheaper gaming PC but she plays a lot of Metroidvanias and cozy games. It's perfect for that. I played a lot of indy games and retro games so it worked well for that too. That is until DMC5 and GoW pulled me back into the AAA space then I decided to get a PS5 rather than start paying the upgrade prices.
@@solidarity9371 I've had thousands of hours of enjoyable gaming time by doing exactly what op said(got a used office pc for free, bought a 1050 and more ram). Most of the games I played I would've never been able to play on a console or play them modded. Might sound crazy but not everyone needs to play high graphic or modern games to enjoy gaming.
the simplicity of console gaming is what kept me in . game needs an update , cool update it and be on your way . i rarely ever have my games crash , 120hz on shooters feel good enough , loading times have drastically improved with this gen of consoles with the ssd . ive though about building a pc this year just because i have the money to do it but its not really something i NEED to do . all i play is fighters anyways 😂
I’ve been a primarily a console gamer most of my life, but I do play some PC games. Working on homework, then playing a PC game, just makes me feel exhausted. For taking a break from things, console is the way to go for me.
1:36 I mean these days the games they have a are basically remasters of past games and the ability to play existing games at higher resolutions and framerates. That's something PC has been able to do forever.
As someone who has a family, responsibility, a mortgage and a full time job, on top of a side business, I don't have time to be a computer nerd anymore. PS5 is the way to go for plug and play. In order to get the full use out of a PC, you need to have ALOT of spare time, and you have to want to play AAA games all the time. I play 3 games. Battlefield, RDR2 and I have a 500 dollar PC that I'll use once a year to get my WoW fix in. Other than that. I can't justify spending 2000-4000 dollars to get a PC with the best frames per second just to ignore my family to play GTA 5 or CoD. I'll just sit on my couch and relax with my nachos.
PC doesn't only cater to hardcore gamers... it's major focus is to casuals who don't want to spend extra money for a gaming device just to play simple games. A lot of casual gamers just prefer to download a game and play something simple when off work or something. I'd say PC and Mobile gaming are more casual than console gaming because it's more accessible. We all need a computer or a phone for daily life shit so it's less of a barrier to play on devices you already own. @@Annihilation99
PC will always be the best option for one reason and one reason only, it's practically timeless. Even when you upgrade to a better PC, your old PC is still solid for playing the same games 5-10 years ago. Only difference is online driver and software support and even then, those updates will get archived by someone long before the support discontinues
Honestly for me most of the games I play are older and indies so my interest in new hardware is super low where as someone on the opposite end gets the new 90 series Nvidia each time they come out and want to play brand new games at 4k 120fps. That's the freedom of PC that both people can exist and have what they want.
If you play on Linux, all the drivers should be baked into the kernal already so you dont even need to worry about online drivers. As for software support, on Linux, with proton on Steam, games will run better and last longer than on Windows sooo that gives extra points to PC gaming. Even if Windows goes to shit, we still have other options like Linux basically which is great to have for game preservation / software preservation.
@@DreamyAbaddon We already have Windows VM software for when that happens and if that doesn't work then we also have Wine and Bottles to use for the Windows apps we need(at this rate, we won't need any software ran by Windows by the end of this year)
That dude freaking out about installing updates must not have realized that you can pause updates for up to five weeks. You never actually HAVE to install updates. Good luck not updating your console and still being able to play online especially.
Something that may be is not being said at least for PS side (as microsoft will port games into a PC when they are exclusives for Xbox... they will reach PC sooner or later...) for PS games is not the case with exclusives games like God of War or Last of us, Uncharted, Ghost of Tsushima, etc, where PC gamers has to wait long time to be able to play them, in the past Console games were ok, PC games were better, but in noweadays, Console games are getting better, and is a shame PC gamers need to wait years long after release to have them, and sometime with risk of a bad porting (i'm looking at you Last of us PC)...
While this is true, I find there are soooooo many games I enjoy on PC, where I can play these dozens of other games while I was a year or so until consoles exclusives are ported (and generally save money this way too. I'm fortunate enough to own a PS5/Switch as well, so when a game I really want to play day 1 comes out I can. Also currently my PC is hooked up to the OLED TV in the main room because I'm playing a couple of story heavy single player games from the couch with a controller (at least until I get a OLED monitor). When I want to play online FPS or other games with precise aiming and fast paced movement, I can spend the 5 minutes unplugging the pc, taking it to the office and playing on my high refresh rate monitor. I love the freedom this platform espouses. I just finished writing this as you mentioned couch PC gaming with big picture mode XD Also for any gamers out there using an Xbox controller to play on PC, I HIGHLY recommend buying the $12-15 microsoft official usb dongle to connect your PC. It may just be me, but many PC bluetooth options never seem to be as reliable, efficient or have the range that the cheap dongle has. Plus I believe this is the only way to have 3 or more wireless controller connected for local coop.
I prefer PC over any console, because its a lot cheaper to game on The build might be somewhat expensive But with a neglegible amount of know-how you will never have to pay for any game again. Also modding
So went to PC during the end of Covid( wait, we need more TP) when a delux PS5 maybe with an extra controller, game or 2 was $1000 here in SD cal,so-was I to buy or pre built or build a PC? I ended up building one, which, was a blast, overall the PC($850 vs $1000 PS5) was cheaper, I did buy some Xbox, controllers but way more love my thrifty keyboard. I have another monitor/TV up or my friends when they come over , and we play our much loved Borderlands 3. Yes the couch has its benefit, but sit in my gaming chair, and amp up my massive 120 watts(Sony Entertainment system)on my hifi MB,B3, Cyberpunk, Redfall, well, that is a blast. I really am thinking of getting Game Pass, I still pay Playstation, who knows, it depends on your perspective, my friend wants to buy a PS5 , that's cool , yout video is really great , buddy!
I am very illiterate when it comes to trouble shooting a computer. I just got a gaming laptop but i don't enjoy it as ps4 experience is soooo much easier for me. I also think that it will outlast a gaming laptop since parts in a loptop overheat.
"Is pc an option?" Kinda stupid question tbh. Even though I am a console gamer still I'll prefer pc gaming over console gaming anyday, it's just that I can't afford a pc that is gonna deliver a console level experience.
What you said not true at all, as if you want to play on the console and trying to convince yourself of this decision 😅 PC on 2010 better than now ? ok
i do think PC is still the way to go the only problem this days is that Devs are to lazy to optimize games and they give us buggy games/unfinished and the upsite with consoles is that u can play them anywere and they are cheapper however they don't have the same power as the PC cause lets be real if u go full 4k/60FPS/full RT consoels will die seens RT req a lot of GPU power and the PS5 GPU is equal to a 3060 12gb
Console would be perfect if paying for access to online content in games was removed, and games were always 60fps or above. But it isnt going to happen so PC it is
Microsoft is already moving away from the console and game ownership since they offer cloud gaming on tv, phone and tablets as well as on PC. It's possible that they might discontinue making consoles after XBOX series x and s since their profit margins are so low on selling hardware but they are doing great on xbox controllers.
PS5 is my main gaming rig but I have a PC. There are just certain inconveniences with PC. With my PS5 I have 15 seconds until I can get inside my game playing, it only takes 4 buttons. It should be 1, the ps button should turn on everything but it's severely faster than the PC. Browsing PSN deals vs Steam deals is also huge. How the fck do I sift through 11,000 deals, PSN has 400 at a time and is manageable to find new games I didn't know I wanted. Exclusives are mana from heaven. PC just isn't for me as long as the price to performance doesn't get out of hand for PC. PS5 IS $400, not $500. PCs don't have disk drives.
It really a use cae. If you just want yo play games, i would argue espetially if you want to play new stuff, console is the way to go. If you want to play older stuff mostly, but some new stuff, and you dont have old console around to play on, go with a PC.
There are tons of games that only exist on PC, but if all you’ve ever known is console gaming, then ignorance is bliss I guess. I’m sure there are plenty of casual gamers who only play 1 or 2 titles 95% of the time, so for those CoD and FIFA folks it probably just makes sense to stick with consoles. Otherwise nothing beats the open ended, future proof flexibility of PC and being able to neutrally play games from all the platforms.
my main problem with consoles is the lack of high refresh rate support and no updates for previous gen games (this is a given on PC). The only problem with PC are the terrible ports! :(
Consoles have had bad ports too, PUBG on Xbox was a mess at launch. and it's only major releases having bad ports indie games oddly not can only wonder why.
@@itIsI988problem with that is you cant really play 1440p at 120hz. I tried it myself with Horizon forbidden west even on performance mode my console barely hit a playable res/framerates
PC IS CLEARLY BETTER IN ALMOST ALL ASPECTS......GAME TITLE CHOICES (ALMOST ANY GAME), THE FACT THAT ALL YOU NEED TO PAY FOR IS INTERNET (NO SUBSCRIPTIONS), GRAPHICS, PERFORMANCE, BACKWARD COMPATABILITY, AESTHETICS (PCS LOOK BETTER), STREAMING, PODCASTING, VIDEO EDITING, AND THE LIST GOES ON....CONSOLES HAVE SOME PROS, BUT NEVER MORE THAN PC!!! PC IS SIMPLY BETTER. THE FACT COMES DOWN TO MONEY. SIMPLE AS THAT. BUT THERE IS LITERALLY NO COMPARISON. IF YOURE BROKE, BUY A CONSOLE. IF YOU HAVE MONEY BUY A PC! ........(IF YOURE NOT THAT SMART, BUY A CONSOLE. IF YOURE SMART, BUY A PC! LMAO....JK...A LITTLE ) THATS ALL IT COMES DOWN TO REALISTICALLY SPEAKING. MONEY!!!! THATS ALL!!! OPINIONS WELCOMED.
PC operating systems really suck. Windows vs the PlayStation OS, PlayStation OS wins every day. It ensures apps don’t misbehave it works without a bunch of bugs and doesn’t get in the way. Windows really sucks. I don’t think people realize how bad it is. Our collective consciousness has blocked out how much troubleshooting we’ve had to do. The only ONLY thing that makes me irritated at consoles is the blocked online capabilities. But that’s a single irritation vs Windows hundreds of irritations.
Ok debunking time. 1.Gaming at a desk, plug your pc into a tv, problem solved. 2. Windows, dont like window? Ok use steam OS, its streamlined and runs jist like playstion or xbox OS, problem solved. 3. Troubleshooting, not much of an issue, doesnt happen as much as some people make out, also, at least trpubleshooting on PC is possible, you can sort out any hardware or software issue yourself and do some research on google and youtube, console? If you have hardware or software issues, your stuck, have to wait for big corporation and developers to sort it out, nothing you can do. 4. Price? After going on about having to pay for online, and then saying pc is more expensive?😂 yeah £500 for the console, then minimum of £60 a year for online functionality l, so for 4 years thats £500+£240= £740! Can i build a pc thatll outperform a ps5 or xbox series x at that price? Absolutely!
Good luck keeping it high end in the coming years (Imagine going through life believing that the prices for it all right now will be the end all be all) All I’m saying is I only had to pay $500 for my console and don’t need to continuously purchase hardware to keep it up to date.
@@gregc.9313 many old GPU's and CPU's still kicking on modern games look it up next. and duh a console is pre set on everything in both price and hardware *and they become outdated fast!* as the X1 series X and PS5 already have! and man, why y'all keep using a lack of ability to do x as a -own- for the other thing i don't get it!
@DiizRuptive PS5 hardware is equal to a GTX 3060 12gb(PS GPU has 16GB) but MS/Sony are selling at a lose and Sony relys on gaming sells tho they are not getting thme seens from 118m PS4 owners GOW just sold 18m copies Spideramn 33m and this is over 2y period and that's why they both are chasing the PC market cause there are $$$ to be made there,HZD sold 2,5m copies depsite been 4y odl game and a buggy port
@diizruptive_clipsyea forbidden west also runs stunning got a headache while playing the opening hour of the game. Constant fps drops and adaptive resolution dropping to something below 1080p to keep that poor piece of hardware alive
Ease of use is a big point for the console, but I think that the pc objectively speaking has more advantages compared to a console. It all comes down what advantages are more relevant to you. I could also say that being able to tinker with settings is an advantage for me. Especially in regards to audio, because I'm quite picky about the sound and like listening to music. The dac for my headphone alone costs more than a console (don't even ask about the headphone) and I still have to use EQ to get the audio to my preference (usally harman target with a tiny bit more bass). This is a level that you just can't reach with a console.
a lack of settings isn't a point against the other thing and duh consoles are pre set to run a certain setting out the box cause of their pre configured hardware.
I update my drivers a few times a year for new features. You click a button and wait 2-5 mins and it's done. It's no different from when I update the firmware on my PS5. I DO however really like the PS5 rest mode and how you can remotely download/install games and updates in a low power state. There are hoops you'd have to jump through to do this on a PC.
Consoles are good enough if you don't mind the 2019 gpu equivalent apus they're packing and downscaling resolution with 30 fps with said downscaling on modern titles. This whole topic is mute.
How could you forget Guild Wars 2!?
It definitely sucks to work all day and then game on the same chair and same computer.

Pc Gaming Blows Going Back To Console
Personally I feel that pc gaming is more worth it once you've done the initial hardware investment
No subscriptions to pay and the games are objectively cheaper especially on steam
I had to skip ps5 and go with PC because I couldn't personally cope with the high game prices and terrible deals in the digital store
PS Store and MS Store have hella cheap sales on AAA games all the time, like Steam.
@@josefpdx if so that's not the case where I live
The deals are always way better on steam
@@SynthXV That's awesome!
You can also hook your PC to your TV
And its easier than ever with the SteamDeck. You can just stream the game from your PC to the TV.
100% with nearly all the points, great vid!
meanwhile i treat my pc like a console which doubles as my media centre, it's hooked up to my TV, i use a controller, and navigation isn't a problem, since i just bought myself a handheld keyboard/Mouse, it's has a qwerky keyboard and trackpad, once it's setup, it's as convenient as a console, with the added bonus of it being a pc, so endless options, i play PS2 games like i would back in the day on my tv via emulation(but much better) and if i use steam i can use big picture mode, which is a console interface.
Great vid man! i like your vibes. You've earned a new sub!
Same.

Ps4 is still great. I just got a gaming laptop and it is not as easy and convenient as playing on ps4😊
@@DreamyAbaddonwas about t type this same comment 👍
I like my PC for classic and Indie games. I play AAA games on my PS5.
we're relatively early in the life cycle of the 9th gen consoles, so a pc with the same price as a ps5 can be expected to perform more or less the same (best case scenario) or worse, this is not new. what's new, however, is that the market is so fucked up to the point that even people are, more than ever, turning to and interested in previous gen hardware and especially gpus. this is simply unacceptable. the cpu side of things is quite healthy and competitive tho
Last gen Gpus still perform far better than any console. For nvidia even the 20 series are still great for 1440o gaming without any issue. Dlss is great for these older Gpus.
@@Annihilation99 >far better than any console
yeah right. last gen console promised (upscaled) 4k at 30 fps. and they delivered.
Yea but who buys a Pc for gaming only? Its like buying a car so you can drive it to visit people but not to got to the store or work with it
@@Annihilation99 I keep seeing this argument but you could buy a PS5 and a decent home PC and still have money leftover for a Switch compared to a dedicated gaming rig.
I have the OG Xbox controller that I plug into my PC with a USB converter to play modern games with and it's fantastic that this option even exists but no modern consoles can use it sadly.
what camera do you shoot with? Nice picture

PC gaming has always been a joke. Constantly missing out on the big is the best games absolutely no first party.

I played a lot of indy games and retro games so it worked well for that too. That is until DMC5 and GoW pulled me back into the AAA space then I decided to get a PS5 rather than start paying the upgrade prices.
Cheapest? lol not even close. What you gonna do with that cheap build, play emulator games? 😂😂😂
bro stop lying, pc gaming is expensive AF
PC games update the same way dude, turn the pc on, game updates automatically and faster than a console, ready to play
console gaming is still king
PC recieved the Golden Joystick Award in 2021 for the ultimate gaming hardware of all time, beating the PS2.
Consoles can't beat Steam.
Ps4 is still great. I just got a gaming laptop and it is not as easy and convenient as playing on ps4😊, so going back to my ps4
Yea but isnt that a nice thing? Consoles cater to casuals while Pc caters to gamers. Its always been that way and thats a good thing
I just finished writing this as you mentioned couch PC gaming with big picture mode XD
Also for any gamers out there using an Xbox controller to play on PC, I HIGHLY recommend buying the $12-15 microsoft official usb dongle to connect your PC. It may just be me, but many PC bluetooth options never seem to be as reliable, efficient or have the range that the cheap dongle has. Plus I believe this is the only way to have 3 or more wireless controller connected for local coop.
Emulation is enough of a reason to play PC alone. Love playing old console exclusives and switch games at 60fps.
I prefer PC over any console, because its a lot cheaper to game on
The build might be somewhat expensive
But with a neglegible amount of know-how you will never have to pay for any game again.
PC building is definitely a fun time, glad you ended up doing it! $1000 for a PS5 is nuts.
I am very illiterate when it comes to trouble shooting a computer. I just got a gaming laptop but i don't enjoy it as ps4 experience is soooo much easier for me. I also think that it will outlast a gaming laptop since parts in a loptop overheat.
"Is pc an option?"
Kinda stupid question tbh.
My ROG Ally gives me the best of both worlds.
If you want to play any multiplayer games its PC consoles only for singleplayer games.
The haptic feedback on the PS5 controller has definitely pushed consoles ahead but now PCs come with RGB lighting and that looks mad.
my main problem with consoles is the lack of high refresh rate support and no updates for previous gen games (this is a given on PC). The only problem with PC are the terrible ports! :(
A lot of games now have a 120Hz mode, even a lot of single player ones such as GoW Ragnarok. This is what steered me back to consoles.
@@Annihilation99 Yeah that sucks. Fortunately for me my monitor is 4k so I can choose between 1080p and 4k without it looking like complete crap.
@@Annihilation99 maybe your TV doesnt support it?
As someone who plays RTS games and 4X games mainly I have to say: LOL get real.

Absolutely!
If a game is bad without mods then the game sucks. Sorry.
Consoles are trash. There’s nothing like a high end desktop.
Good luck keeping it high end in the coming years
(Imagine going through life believing that the prices for it all right now will be the end all be all)
All I’m saying is I only had to pay $500 for my console and don’t need to continuously purchase hardware to keep it up to date.
@@gregc.9313 upgrading a pc is around the same price of a new console

@diizruptive_clipsyea forbidden west also runs stunning got a headache while playing the opening hour of the game. Constant fps drops and adaptive resolution dropping to something below 1080p to keep that poor piece of hardware alive
Consoles are better no having to update driver's and having to tinker in game settings to get games up and running its just good old pick up and play
Convenience doesn't always equal a better experience
a lack of settings isn't a point against the other thing and duh consoles are pre set to run a certain setting out the box cause of their pre configured hardware.
@@SynthXV Why tf not?
No
Consoles are good enough if you don't mind the 2019 gpu equivalent apus they're packing and downscaling resolution with 30 fps with said downscaling on modern titles. This whole topic is mute.
