💞 What a treasure trove of valuable musically minded advice this conversation holds. I am excited about the harp journey will immerse myself, trust my gut, give myself time and above all LOVE IT 💞.... and buy your CD Amelia (thank you Talking Harps and Victoria).
Trusting your gut and giving yourself time, and love it. That's beautiful, Paulin-Ann! So much to be excited about. :) Hope you'll enjoy "Levers Engaged"; I am loving Prokofiev's Prelude in C lately! - Victoria
Thank you Victoria for pointing me in Amelia's direction, this is exactly the convrrsation I needed to listen to right now. Will check out all the previous ones and of course her work and website. Thanks!
I love how this interview brings out the fact that lever harp can do more than play folk music. I LOVE folk music! But I also love being able to reach beyond that. Amelia's creativity reminds me to stretch myself and be creative because creativity can help me GROW and mature as a harpist. :)
Thank you for this conversation! 🌼🌼🌼
My pleasure! - Victoria
Thank you for this. I went and listened to the album, and loved it. I’m not really a fan of shoehorning the harp into anything and everything, but when it’s done sensitively like this and with a focus on first and foremost creating a great piece of music, the result is something that seems like it always belonged on harp (or lever harp). Very inspiring!
Very inspiring indeed. :) I am grateful for musicians like Amelia who are so dedicated to their craft! - Victoria
Amelia is such a great harpist. I love her music with ethnic instruments and Im curious if I also like this clasic music..
Anyway I finished cutting nails with you conversation in background =D so now I can (need to) go back for practise and then go to workshop to make new harps. Yaaaay! =)
Tomáš
A workshop to make new harps sound very exciting! I personally is not a big fan of classical music; however, harpists like Amelia Romano bring a different perspective to the music and I am developing an appreciation for them! Hope you had a wonderful time with practice and at the workshop! - Victoria
@@TalkingHarps hi Victoria. I mean workshop not as a seminar but as a place with machinery where I build harps and kalimbas :)
Well Iam a big fan of small part o clasic music - that what I consider as "uplifting" but I really do not appreciate long complex composition without this positive feeling...
So for me its much about repertoire but of course the way of playing can make a big difference... Tomáš
Some times I really wonder how long it takes for a person to really identify where they belong in the music world. Beautiful playing Amelia.
