Your content is real good. I imagine it has helped your viewers land a job. I have a 3rd interview with an organization tomorrow and I have used a lot of your videos. Keep up the great work.
Bill what do you think about leaving public after one year with your CPA license, and into a GP financial reporting role at an investment management firm? Do you think this a bad move for someone aspiring to become a controller?
Interviews are just lies you have to say in order to get a job. I hate them because you can’t be honest. I want to leave my job because I feel miserable, because I feel underpaid but guess what? We can’t say that in an interview. Which is contradictory because “why would you want to leave your current job if you are happy there?”… so this question doesn’t make sense to me… we (candidates) should be allowed to be honest or don’t make that question because it’s really uncomfortable having to lie about it. If you are happy at your current job, you wouldn’t leave it. So “why are you leaving your job?”… BECAUSE I FEEL MISERABLE, UNDERPAID AND WITH NO OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW
If you say “they are not giving me an opportunity to grow”, then they think you are not good enough and that’s why the current employer hasn’t given you an opportunity… everything is bad ugh
the problem is that the REAL reason behind 99% of cases in my experience is that the company is a bad place to work and the boss is a real bad boss....So, we are telling candidates that the best way to land into a job is lying.
Good point you raise. I am not advocating lying to be clear. Non-growth is a byproduct of the bad relationship you have with a boss/company. This non growth is a much more relevant discussion to have than a seemingly subjective feeling one has for his boss.
I feel like I’m accounting specifically a lot of people switching from public into private are looking to get paid more & better work life/balance. If your switching from public to public or private to private for similar roles then I agree ☝️

If I was a Manager/Boss I would appreciate more if the candidate is honest and tells me how they really feel

Staying a bit longer is better, 2 more years. But still you can make that move work if you are dedicated to learning in non public
Good sir, i was wondering if you can do a video about technical accounting skills interview Q&A? Thank you so much!

Please make videos about Acca sir love you.
Unfortunately, 99% of people leave their job because of boss / people / culture.

Idk. If you were in a place that was committing legit fraud or was abusive, that seems like something a new employer should know…
