3/4 in 5 shot groups from a stock factory hunting rifle and bullet is about as good as it gets . I would certainly be happy with that sort of accuracy.

Hornady 150gr SST / 52.5gr Imr4064 / cci200primer and ya got it. Works great in all 3 of my bolt action 30.06 rifles

My go to load for 30 06 that I have hunted with for many years in a 26" Kreiger barrel Remy 700 is FED 210M, RP brass, Sierra 180 BT, 57.5 H430 @2925 FPS 5/8" group. One shot kills at 361 yards on 700 LB elk. Very dependable, very repeatable it has never let me down. Bear Elk Deer all one shot kills that 180 Sierra is a snot knocker.

Based on the rifle use, it might not be necessary, but I'd definitely look into the top charge, at least 61.3/.4/.5 and maybe .6. The jump in velocity (2963 to 94) seems to indicate a starting point of the node. In any case, I agree with the premise that this is a major improvement compared with the factory load. Nice series.

Sorry off topic i run 139grn sst and imr 4350 max powder charge all custom hand load to my chamber. In my 7mm remmington magnum. 1" groups at 300 yrds. So yes hand loads are way better that factory loads.

I bet you that varying the bullet seating depth in 0.1 mm or 0.003 inch steps might possibly still improve the MOA even though for hunting within ethical distances this rifle's accuracy is more than sufficient.

Hi there, I am from South Africa and have recently purchased a CZ557 in 30-06. Want to develop a load. What is your recommendation for a good place to start. Using 178 eldx, and H4350 powder with Lapua brass. I would appreciate youyr feedback and recommendations.

Can you do a 28 Nosler load test? Looking for accuracy. TIA

How do you plotting those loads in the graph and get the numbers to show up on there I have never had to use a spread sheet system before

In Excel (actually Open Office), it's a matter of selecting the plotted data and inserting "data labels."

Sorry, I didn't get it. You have a reasonable plateau starting at 61.4 and all the way up to 62.3 (or up to 61.7 if to be conservative). But you are testing the major upward spike from 60.6 to 61.4. I just didn't get why not to try to test everything between 61.3 to 61.9. And, as some people mentioned, it will be nice to see what you can get with 178 ELDX or similar. The issue I have with 150 grains in 30-06 is that they have a tendency to go through an animal at lower distances (up to 100m).
    Currently used load for 30-06: Hornady 180gr SST, 52.5grain IMR4350, CCI200, trim length 2489, COAL around 3340.

Hi Anton, you are correct technically I tested the area that you wouldn't. I have had several people in the comments constantly telling me that the method I use doesn't work. Personally I don't care how anyone does load development but I did this as part if this video th-cam.com/video/paUMACbJxTs/w-d-xo.html where I covered results. using this method. I think the data is still relevant since the top charge is pretty close to as high as you really want to load this anyway.
