For those who are unaware. Mark Cuban has a pharmacy in Tx that offers people like me, stricken w severe cancer, a low cost avenue to get our chemotherapy medication.
Although I didn't win my war against the disease and will succumb to it, I am so deeply thankful an individual like this is out there helping the desperate sufferers

Yeah even if it's a "Premium product" they're selling it at over 5x what it cost to make. They could drop the price by 2-3 dollars and still claim it's premium (Because it would still be more expensive than a bottle lol) and still make a bunch of money.
@@CovenantArmada Well, there are a lot of stuff that have ridiculous price markups where people are still willing to pay money for. 5x is actually not a lot considering that businesses have lots of cost to cover.

Most condiments are shelf stable anyways with the amount of sugar, salt and acid. Not to mention preservatives too.

One thing I think is severely limiting this product is it’s lack of versatility while I can use ketchup on a burger or sandwich I can also use it on fries chicken nuggets ect this product essentially takes a working concept and limits it.
I think you can look at it like cheese. You have slices for burgers, and you have dips and sauces.

The funny thing is here in Germany there was a tv show in which someone who had a background in the food industry (development of sauces, instant noodles and all that) was challenged to recreate common food products. In one episode he had to recreate this exact kind of thing: ketchup slices. When presented with the slices he had to laugh because he originally developed them like a few years ago. Why no one ever heard of sauce slices before? They were usually used for microwave burgers. I wouldn’t call microwave burgers a rich people thing and most definitely not a premium product 😅
Such a terrible product, I mean sauce does more then just add taste. It can make the texture of food seem juicer and less dry. Good luck doing that with dehydrated sauce.

I agree with you both. Kevin's offer was way better - way less equity, and the royalty was only 10 cents which wouldn't have hurt the cash flow. No one ever even counters Kevin.

If its not cheaper than what people pay for with the bottles, then its not a replacement. This item is destined to fail unless they can get their price lower than how much bottles cost.
If they can do that without sacrificing taste and quality then I can see restaurants and fast food places buying it simply because it would be cheaper to ship.

Most people use sauce to “help” a dry burger or sandwich- I get that; but, the concept of this may be similar to that of a starburst. Think how watery your mouth gets when you eat one of those or a fruit rollup and neither have water in them. Now, consider the same affect while eating a burger due to this slice of sauce 🤷🏻♀️
I’d absolutely buy it to try it, but imo- Barbara was right that the price point for 8 sandwiches is steep vs buying a whole bottle of sauce that can last for months. Although they use quality ingredients, you can purchase a bottle of sugar-free organic ketchup for the same price and it will last longer.
I love how Barbara, who is a billionaire, is complaining about how many sandwiches she gets out of her ketchup bottle versus a slice...

Such a niche product. Even camping or picnicking or whatever you can simply get smaller bottles and the whole mess free/soggy buns is such a minuscule problem compared to what you lose in texture and taste of sauce. This would only be good for toddlers.

Imagine paying nearly the same amount for ketchup and meat.
You could just buy regular ketchup, squeeze it out on a pan, put it out in the sun or an oven on very low heat, and when it dries cut it into sandwich sized squares and wrap it in saran wrap. I don't know why, since the product sounds nasty, but if it's something you crave that's a way to get it for cheap.
I honestly feel like when Kevin really believes in a company he offers simple equity deals but when he sees a huge risk he offers royalties it’s a loan shark move but it’s to protect his money

You’re taking the cheapest part of a sandwich, the condiments, and you’re making it the most expensive part. A giant bottle of store brand organic ketchup is like $3. That’s enough for like 100 burgers. Or I can spend $6 for enough ketchup for 8 burgers. That’s literally 25 times more expensive. And ketchup has so much sugar it’s fine out in the heat all day once opened. Too often people don’t realize that most of the country can’t afford to spend 25 times more money for some convenience.

Condiments add much needed moisture (for lack of a better word) to an otherwise dry sandwich. I would probably try this only once and never again.

Great idea, but I'd only be in if it serves the masses and not just the premium market because it just costs too much, for me personally, I LOVE IT WHEN MY MAYO, KETCHUP, BBQ SAUCE or whatever the case may be, is drizzling down my burger or sandwich, there's nothing I dislike more than a dry burger or sandwich. 🤔

I wouldn't be surprised if the packaging is one of the highest expenses.
8 slices are $6,
but maybe they could do 25 slices for $7
or 100 slices for $8.
It would be foolish to do 1 slice for $5.
My point is, you have to figure out what quantity is the most cost effective for the customer at a reasonable price per unit and per purchase.

No restaurant is going to pay more for ketchup unless they charge the customer more. Why would they do that?
This is literally the *worst* idea for a sandwich. Sauces and other viscus condiments add moisture and lubrication to a sandwich. They're an integral part of what makes a sandwich great. It's no surprise they went out of business because this is genuinely awful unless you're just trying to add the flavor in addition to a traditional sauce. Otherwise you've just created the driest sandwich in the desert.

This has been done by a restaurant before, they call it ketchup leather (see Buzzfeed's Tasty The Best Burger I've Ever Tasted episode) and it's just tomato ketchup dehydrated. Some people have dehydrators and ketchup is cheap. The prize is just 😒

Should’ve done a slice of ketchup, mustard and mayo all swirled up and mixed together. I hate having to get all those bottles to set up my burger and then it’s too much and spills over. With a slice mixed of all 3, I’d be a happy camper.
