Trying the revered Strymon Dig for the first time - I think this is my favourite of the Strymon delays that I've tried to be honest?

The DIG has always stood out to me in demos as having something special. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but it just has a perfect studio sound.
The two delays can be combined in way no other pedal can do. Amazing.
I’m a DIG and Brigadier user - both V1. Both beautiful useful delays. Both occupy a place on my board. They can be combined for huge ambient tones.
I think it's impossible to say what their best delay is. The Brig and El Cap are just ridiculously good sounding. Strymon were so ahead of the curve ten years ago when they came out. To this day they still sound gorgeous.
12 bit, light modulation, tone at 10' oclock, repeats at noon. Perfection. It does a nice stereo chorus too.
I have one and I love it. I wanted something with the clarity of a digital delay with the ability to add some modulation and a tap tempo. The added dual delay is just a bonus for me. Thanks for another great video.
I just bought mine a week ago and I haven’t been able to try it out yet (in a band situation I mean). I love delay and reverb pedals and for a long time I used the DOD Rubberneck. I bought the Rubberneck when it came out. Immediately! I had to have it. Still one of the best sounding delays on the market if you’re searching for that specific sound. But I wanted a little more space on my board (just a little) and I wanted a bit more of that clear digital sound. So far, having played with my DIG (sorry for that!), I can only say that I am reasonably confident I found the right delay for me. ❤
I have always wanted one of these. The El Capistan is currently my favorite but the clarity on the DIG is undeniable.
Picked up a flawless Dig v2 this year for £220 and love it, a great pedal. I still maintain the El Cap is the greatest delay pedal ever made, I've got so much love for that thing, but the Dig is truly excellent.
I have Dig v1. Experimented with different amps, effects loops, no effects loops, and tube amp. Best tones were from my Roland JC-40. Surprised me. The Fender Supersonic 22 was muddy. Also muddy through a Triple Rectifier on clean.
Truly mesmerizing sounds, mate!
I run a DIG v2 in between my Timeline and BlueSky MX. As with every Strymon pedal I own, it’s about perfect at what it does.
I love the sort of sounds the DIG can deliver. It's a digital delay which doesn't pretend to emulate any kind of analog delay.
The two separated delays can generate beautiful soundscapes. The V2 is awesome and has all those usefull functions V1 hasn't.
Great demo dude! 🙏🙏🙏
100% agree with you on the ease of use. I am easily confused by lots of menu parameter setting, and had played with a few other delays. This one I can just fiddle with and quickly experiment until I get something like without really understanding what's happening. I've had dotted eights explained to me countless times but seem to have a mental block in being able to predict what settings I need for a particular sound. I currently use the Deco, Iridium, Dig and Flint in my chain and have never been happier with the ease of dialling in sounds. For me though, if I had to pick one of them - it would be the Deco. Not everyone's cup of tea but it opens up so many options with the 1 pedal.
I have Dig v2, full of good sounding possibilities. Thanks John for this great video.
Great vid and sounds! I am really liking the new Brig delay. Small and more simple than their other delays.
I really dig that pedal and what you make it do. I have trouble making tones of that nature with my shorts fingers. But, I enjoy watching you do it.
Love my Dig v2. Great companion to the El Cap.
The DIG shoots for a DD-2 /early DD-3 sound in 12 bit mode. I have a DD-2, but that alone would make it an object of desire for me.
It’d be cool if you did an El Cap vs Dig video.
i absolutely love this delay!
John will have two number 9's, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45's, one with cheese, and a large soda.
I wonder how long you can keep up the quality factoids lol. Then again I wondered how John could keep doing from scratch intros and good videos every day :-)
@@christopherjbutler _beep boop I’m built different. No man alive can match me_

I bought a used V1 DIG for under $200. I am still learning it but it's great sounding pedal.
Diggin’ Strymon in general. Currently rocking a Voilante. Not as PRO as the FM3 according to Cordy, which is the PROest of ‘em all, but still I’m able to issue some invoices from time to time. So all in all, not too shabby.
This is such a great delay.
Can you recreat something similar with the HX Stomp? A preset of DIG?
How does it compare to the Andy Timmons halo? I feel like they kinda do the same thing, but I’m undecided on which I should get🤷♂️
DIG and Brig are my fave Strymon delays
U should try the TI:ME by Crazy Tube Circuits, very warm tone old school
Great video. I have read the manual provoded by Strymon, but i cant find a way to factory reset the DIG v1. Is there a way to find out?
Nice video! Would you recommend the Dig if I have to run it into the front of my amp with my dirt coming from the amp? I don't have an effects loop and some delays handle in front better than others especially for amp generated dirty tones!
The DIG is great, so is the playing. Is this Lydian?
NEED HELP: What genre would you call the music John plays in this vid?
Pasta alla Cordy
@@RobbenBanks153 When I google it, nothing comes up.
Wouldn’t it be pasta fusion?
Why v1 at thumbnail?
My DIG V2 doesn't sound anything like this..
What guitar is that bro?
Love that
