I built one of these. I bought a bicycle from Sears and then I bought an engine kit. If a person has normal mechanical skills, these are fun to put together. The big issue is aligning the chain.
That is brill my friend, the self tapping screws to keep the tank and the chain tensioner in place are great advice. It really is hard to beat that energy density for range on a tank. For the price that really is good value. My best my friend.
These 80cc two stroke engines should be capable of mor than 25mph I had a 70cc Piaggio NRG tuned up had every upgrade available and that done 70-75mph I know these engines are basic but there's no weight to these bikes so with the correct jetting of the carb and decent expansion chamber exhaust it should be pretty fast
So my bike has a fat middle lower bar that couldn’t fit with the engine but I made it work. Ended up bending the bolts enough to let the engine somewhat fit in. Then I had the carburetor just not fitting at all no matter what I did but guess what I made it fit lol. Literally not a millimeters to spare. Not done yet but looking good so far
Great video 👍👍 I always laugh when I see people on the bikes and the engine kicks in😂😂. I'm almost finished building mine, of course my bike frame is over thick on the down bar and other places but good fun to build regardless. It's a great project for kids I think. Two questions: Once you install this, you are basically foregoing the cycle function of the bike ? ( It's still possible to cycle but just extra weight) Can you use it on the road/towns/cities in UK? I can't imagine Mr. Khan being a fan them on the streets of London.
You are the reason why I got my bike together and kept my sanity. What are the odds that the first thing that I typed in TH-cam led me to your video with your exact motor(except for a couple of minor things)?
My dad gave me a bike with one of these. Its an old Schwinn stringray that looks like a chopper and is the size for a kid maybe around 12. Whoever put the kit on did an awful job. The engine is crooked, muffler blocks the pedals (lol) and not enough room for the air filter to fit fully onto the carb. Its also missing the lever mechanism that tensions the drive chain (forget the name) so i figure ill buy another kit and use the spare's for parts. Im gonna fix it up and find a kid to give it to who will have fun on it. All the fun for me is in fixing it up. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the upload, great job on the build! 👍 I'll be doing one of these kits in the very near future and have watched numerous videos on how to do it properly. Your vid is one of the few suggesting greasing the clutch mechanism and using the self tapping screws on the tank and tensioner. Im guessing the folks who haven't taken those steps are the ones who have issues and leave the negative feedback. 🤔🙄 How's the engine been holding up for you, still working good after a couple of years? @@RobertlDavis-sp3rv it's an awkward way to start it since you would have to push the bike quite fast, and these engines can be hard to start as well. I think you can get pull start systems for these engines though, might be better. But really, I don't see why you would need to remove the pedals.
