    My old sportcheck brand downhill ironhorse served as winter transport to get across st.johns Newfoundland.
    This kit allowed me to do that faster than the average motorist. . . As I blatantly passed red lights and four way stopps swiftly in the background. When it came to the chain guard. I was limited In tools.
    Used my Gerber to fold the edge into the main cover. Worked really good, and no sharp edges!
    Keep at it RF9!
    great way to build fundamental knowledge.

      Its not that hard. Most problems regard legalities (dont care, small town) and making the "universal" parts fit your bike.
      Nothing some cutting and bending cant fix. Make sure to give the engine a break in period (only use full throttle on your 3rd tank) and have a correct fuel/air and oil/fuel mixture.

    I got die grinders, milling machines, angle grinders, metal lathe, 3d printer all for hobby DIY projects. Oh yea and i have a decent mountain bike i haven't been using and since resale value is 1/5th or less than what i payed for it, it kinda makes it a perfect project for me. That or i would have chopped it up and used most of it on other hobby projects. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Is it ok to use chain guide and chain tensioner at the same time?
    2. If yes, is there any difference if we will use O-Ring, X-Ring, Or Standard?

    Thank you very much indeed!

    • @BasedMan
      @BasedMan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All 2 strokes use oil mixture with their petrol. Otherwise you run without oil and destroy the engine.
      Check what oil ratio you should use for your particular engine, or engine size. (And oil type) goes in the same tank as fuel does.

    • @iszlaimatyasjeno1301
      @iszlaimatyasjeno1301 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The manual that comes with these engines requests 16:1 (fuel:oil) for break in and 20:1 after that...it is very oil rich so most of the motorized bike riders use 32:1 and some are very offended when they see a statement like this...they ride 40:1.

    I put an old Homelite 4.1 cubic inch (67cc) chainsaw engine with 4.5 horsepower on a Huffy mountain bike, using a direct drive foot peg mounted to the engine's crankshaft by removing the centrifugal clutch and using the clutch bolt inside the foot peg to hold it onto the engine. I rode that bike for 5 years, and must have put hundreds of miles it. It would go 51 mph. The chainsaw engines put out tremendous power, about double what the gas scooters and Chinese bike engines have. My friend had a Stihl engine on his BMX bike, and his bike had closer to 6.0 hp, and that thing was seriously fast around town and very smooth (still direct drive though). If you want a really fun experience, try mounting a chainsaw engine to your bike. To start it, you just run and jump on it. Medium size commercial chainsaw engines are extremely light (10 to 15 pounds). You get serious power to weight ratio.

      Probably not. It will be maintenance and tuning hell to get it to run consistently. If you're in an urban area, the entire block and a half will easily hear you since the 2-stroke engine will be louder than a chain saw at full RPM. Also the emissions would be foul with carcinogenic vaporized hydrocarbons spewing out like Benzene, Formaldehyde, and Acrolein. Don't forget these lovely compounds NOx and CO too. These compounds just love to get in to you and party with your cells. You'd be a walking/riding environment mini-disaster to those around you. An assault on ears and noses especially those in your carcinogenic wake.
