When I lived in Tecopa as a kid I remember going there when everything worked. There were speakers in the rocks playing music. The rock "windows" up high were stained glass and the lower windows had statuary. It's a shame it's abandoned now. Used to be lots of people on Saturday nights. People would tailgate n bring food.
Wow! I would've loved to see it back then!
We moved to Pahrump in '78 and saw all that, just flip the switch and everything came on. It was amazing. The lights behind those stained glass windows were beautiful at night.
Can u drive regular car to the canyon
Your vlogs are high quality and you do show a lot of places in details. Its really fun to watch. I lost interest in some channels because they don't show anything just sit in a van and talk for the whole video. Am really thankful for your uploads. Stay blessed sis
How sad that we live in a world where people would choose to vandalize and destroy someone's hard work rather than appreciate its beauty and be inspired.
Thank you for taking us there, Sarah, so that we could appreciate what remains.
If you or anyone else is interested, there's an informative article with photos titled "From Dream to Dust The rise and fall of Cathedral Canyon, from utopian vision to murder scene" in the Las Vegas Review Journal. YT won't allow a link it but it came up as the first hit in a search for Roland WIley.
Sarah this video beautifully captures Cathedral Canyon’s eerie history and its transformation. From Qho's tale to the haunting ruins, it’s a poignant reminder of creativity, loss, and the stories places hold. 🌄✨
Bless Roland - thanks for sharing his dream with us. What a hard worker! Your drone coverage was awesome! Stay safe!
I’m sure it was such a beautiful place at one point. It’s very sad that people don’t respect the beauty and memory of this man for whom this canyon meant so much. The memorial was especially sad for the young man who lost his life at the hands of evil people.
Very sad that vandalism has taken over. Looked like a very spiritual place at one time. Thanks for sharing.
Stay safe - you and Lil One.
❤
Seeing the respect you treated that memorial with, it just goes to show how much empathy you have. Big heart in there somewhere Sarah.
This was a sobering watch. And I no longer drink!!!
Be well girl. And happy and safe. It is me after all. My rules so you take care.
Lovez to you and lil one.
Wolfie.
Very interesting story behind that canyon. RIP to those that are memorialized there. Great video.
Thank you for taking us to see this place. A beautiful place with a sad history. It would be nice if someone else could make it pretty again.
Really appreciate your videos. Your raw and authentic self are fresh air.
@@matthewschultz3986 thank you! 🙂
Thank you for taking us somewhere I’d never have known about and can’t go myself! Before I found your channel, I didn’t see beauty and wonder when I looked at a desert. You have a unique ability to point out things others wouldn’t usually see. I feel like I’m walking along next to you when I watch. Your videos have gotten me through a couple of the worst weeks I’ve had in a long time. Thank you! You are amazing & very talented!
Thank you so much! 🙂
@@wanderingjeepsyyes I agree. You have that ability to describe the beauty of the desert vask lands! That's why I dub you our Modern Day Mother Nature! 🥰
@@PhyllisGarcia-cf7fz 💜💜💜
What a great find! I’m so glad you decided to stop and explore! ❤❤
That was so interesting, it's sad that it wasn't preserved and that people destroyed this man's work. The music was very appropriate for the mood of the video. Really enjoyable, thanks for posting.
Great story! I read about that man in a book about the deserts. There are a lot of disrespectful people unfortunately that think because its a desert it can be trashed. They have no concept that the deserts are quite clean, beautiful and teeming with life!!!!❤ thanks for your story!❤
Can never believe the destructive thoughts of people. To destroy someone else's vision especially a religious one is unexceptional in my book. The man that built out that canyon had the best vision of church going. Back when christ was spreading his word, he definitely didn't have any churches to talk in. Very lovely video Sarah. Safe travels for you and little one 😊
Bravo bravo; what an amazing array of history you have captured and brought to the forefront depicting this great place. Way to go Wandering Jeepsy, your channel is “Awesome”.Keep up the great work and may God always bless you!
Hey Jeepsy, thank you for sharing this gem! It's a shame bad humans have to come in and put their unwanted mark on things. I could see more than a lot of time was put into making such a beautiful pace for kind humans to visit and enjoy. Good video, but I missed your little dog.
Your videos keep getting better, thanks for showing us how beautiful our country is!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful little canyon, but creepy between the murder & its' destruction through vandalism 😢
I have been there several times in the 80s those holes in the canyon walls had urns in them there was a lot of peoples ashes there
So sad the ashes were taken or destroyed 😢
Wow what an interesting place. Your observations in the beginning were 😂. Pleased that the guy was given a respectful burial. Sorry about the young guy who was murdered.
Something within me embraces a location I could remotely live in solitude. Despite the darkness associated with the canyon.🤷🏾♂️
Your drone skills have greatly improved 👍🏾 I'll check out the canyon this winter.
I believe the spirits are still around too, especially when they die in that way... Such sad stories 😢😢
Sarah Happy Sunday morning 🌄!! This place is another interesting find!! But you're right it could make one feel creepy with all the sad things that happen there. These people who come out there to destroy property and took this man's life...I hope they were caught and justice served!! On the positive side, thank you for sharing the history of his dream to build a place for others to visit long after his passing. Please stay safe and will see you soon my friend. 😃👋😃😊
Wow, Enjoyed the video Sarah, sad to see it destroyed, some people have no respect, it would be cool to see it restored 😊
Sarah, thank you so much for this video. I had no idea of this place, this wonderful hidden gem in the desert! What a spiritual place in it's hayday. 🙏 ✝️ It's such a shame that folks are so disrespectful in destroying private property and defacing and vandalizing such works of art! 😩😠 It looked like to me that those carved out windows (as you called them) would have been where a statue may have been placed in there? Stained glass perhaps? Either way it would have looked amazing and beautiful...had he gotten the chance to complete it. God bless the owner 🙏 and his vision of making this canyon a very spiritual place to pray 🙏 and reflect. Thank you my dear friend for finding this place and sharing it with us! May you be blessed you and Lil One, for visiting here and paying homage to such a unique spiritual and beautiful canyon! 🙏✝️ Be well and safe, hugs and love to you both! 🤗🥰💕
Take care Sarah...😊
Absolutely Amazing video as always Sarah and thank you sharing it with us ✌️
I’ve passed this place on my way to Tecopa many times, but never stopped because I assumed it was private property and therefore no trespassing. I would Ike to learn more about the Native American buried there. I’m sure his story is multifaceted.
You are too funny thanks for sharing your adventures with us. It takes a lot of courage to face the haters.
A truly touching tribute. You are such a kind soul! ✨️🌟✨️
"Blessed are those who dream dreams, and make them come true."
Beautifull intresting vid! It deserves an award!!!
Thank you! 🙂
That was a great video for me, I liked the drone fly over, Thank you so much
That was very nice, thanks. But it was still creepy just for the things that have been going on there. Larry did a video on the connection between Quehoe & the canyon. If you ever go to the east side of Nevada, near Pioche, check out Cathederal Gorge State Park, looks nice! Safe Travels Always!
Cathedral gorge state park is one of my favorite Nevada parks! I have a video on it also 🙂 You can find it under the Nevada playlist.
@@wanderingjeepsy Ill go check it out for sure! Playlists make it easier, thanks so much!
So sad that people came in and vandalized this man’s dreams.
After you made me laugh at Quick Ho (as opposed to Slow Ho) I found myself feeling very moved by all three lives you taught us about. I just don’t understand the purpose of vandalism. I really enjoyed this video. 😆
Thank you!
Hello Jeepsy ✌️ Good Morning ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️
Enjoyed again, probably the guy lived in one cave, and other bathroom bad kama to vandals who destroyed a sacred place😊
Very interesting & thank you for sharing all the info, I'm a Jeep-sir! LoL I wrecked my 2018 Jeep, Thanksgiving weekend last year, totalled, bought a 2017 Jeep Willy's 2 door after, not big enough, yet it's a Jeep. I too am a wanderluster - 71 year old male, Atlanta, Georgia, 4th generation to own my property,. love all your youtube video! much love to you, tour spirit!

Another great video! For me a tear jerker for me and your story about your life

Cool. Nice adventure telling❤
💞💞🤗🤗💋💋very interesting site Sarah, thanks for the share. Have a most wonderful day and week.
How beautiful
Good video and thank you much. 😊
Thanks for another excellent video.
The dates on the stone look like 1829 - 1919.
Hi beautiful Jeepsy.
How are you doing today.
I'm JT nice to meet you.
I like you!
Sorry I put a comment that i deleated, because it was supposed to be for another youtube post. Not Sarah's. It made no sence here on her post. That's what happens trying to do two things at once. 😅
Interesting landscape.
Epic video! I will have to check this out next time I am out that way!
Another awesome vid! Stay safe and have fun
Very enjoyable Jeeps; thanks for sharing with us!
6:36 I'm not religious at all but vandalizing Jesus is way too much bad juju for me! 🤦🏾♂️ Whomever did that is crazy there's certain things in this world you just don't mess with! 😱
Beautiful canyon 😊❤ love the history behind it. Thank you Sarah for sharing 🤗❤☀️😎
The words u shared was so beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a beautiful canyon. Such a sad story about what happened to the owner. Such cruelty brought on by humans without a heart. I hope karma comes to those who took the man's life and to those who vandalized this peaceful place! Thank you for sharing Sarah.❤
Great video Sarah! Thanks!
❤
Thank you Sarah...beutiful place...sad to see disrespectful idiots vandalize ...especially out in the deserts...
I have seen it time and again...WTF is wrong with these people.
Safe travels...
That was absolutely beautiful , I never knew this place existed !
Puts me in mind of Coral Castle in Florida .
Got kind of worried for you when you started looking into those little rooms I could swear I heard voices in the background !
Hopefully they were friendly ghosts 😅 .
Hi my dear !! It's a shame things get destroyed , your looking good hun ,very interesting video ,stay safe love ya
The other Saraha brought us in to this canyon too! Wonderhussy showed it off to us. Novemember is Gratitude month. I am greatful for just being alive and having a higher power who helps me out. We had had a lot of candle light meetings too. I enjoyed seeing the canyon again. I won't be able to go in person. Have fun. I try to be as positive as I can be today. There is just as much good things as there are the one's that are not so hot. The solution for me is only found in the good positive stuff. The negative stuff, me wallowing in it only gets me stuck where I am at. Glad and greatful for the people who got on me about changing all that negative stuff into a positive experience. I had to change every one of my negative thoughts into a positive one. If it is good it is comming from my higher power as I understand him. If it is not good it is self-willed stuff, or not from my higher power. Paul in Ohio
Be Careful out there Sarah!
Totally awesome video!👍🏼😃 Take care yourself and lil one!🐶😊✌🏼
It is such a shame for this to happen to a lovely place
Jeepers creepers...gives ya the heebie jeebies!!
Adam The Woo was just there. Trippy 😝
No birds, no life. Cool but depressing. No color,no grass ,no trees or bushes. Show us a happy place with life. Desolate places with no life is quenching the vibe.
I know sometimes it sucks when the state steps in but at least maybe would be less destroyed.
I love the music 😊
Wow thank you That was a real cool place never even heard of it It's hard for me to go places these days because of my situation I appreciate your videos.
You have a good soul Sarah, can see in your eyes, love to meet you. I live in upper New York State.
I don't know why people have to be destructive and disrespectful
Sarah.Would you mind if I wrote you a country music song for your channel with my a I softwhere I wrote 4 the hussy
i just Wrote it gave 2 versions WEEL A.I. did anyway love the website
I'd love to hear it! Can you send it to my email?
@@wanderingjeepsy i just did let me know at that very end i will do the video 4 ya
Been to that about 10 years ago. Neat but weird place.
It used to be lit and music played all the time, I have always wondered where the power came from, I don't remember any power poles and if it was a generator... I never saw one anywhere. If i remember, without searching it was a somewhat TOUCHED Vegas Lawyer who built this. I knew his name for a long time, but that was a long time ago. One of us died and the other one GOT OLD.
It's a puzzlement. I don't believe in the supernatural and actively scoff at all religions, but I would never deface a sincere artistic expression of faith such as this. I think the behavior of the vandals is rooted in the resentment of the uncreative toward the creative.
👍🐾
What's your jeeps name?
Nomad
Ok, good , to see you out and about, oh check to see if you have any of your freinds or you that have the Grimm way farms carrots 🥕 ,it’s a EColi out breakas they recalled all organic baby carrots 🥕 ,on the 16 th,November 2024 ,Grimm way farm s are in Bakersfield California, I think they have recalled all carrots 🥕 for EColi out break, BigAl California thanks
😀😄😃
another awesome vid thank you
there's a toilet seat outside under the bushes
Someone wanted to play target practice with most of the Mojave. Sucks. I shoot arrows in that canyon. Won't put bullet holes in anything out there. But yeah everywhere is shot up.
Rave spot now - regularly.
Or something smaller like a 380 . Something a 22.
Another beautiful video. I hope you are getting out of your funk. Have you tried SamE?
they were restrooms
Happy Sunday. Hey are you going to have 2025 calandar?
I imagine this might not be a popular opinion here… I do think his work was lovely. However, I feel like that cozy little canyon was lovely prior to the day he arrived. And I feel like the rate of decay is appropriate.
Can tell your bar background when you made a joke of the guy's name. A sort of self objectifying thing, I suppose. I don't get it.
Well no one ‘gets’ your message, so I guess we’re even? 🤷♀️
The BIG STATUE was JESUS, kinda like JESUS THE REDEEMER IN RIO. I am not a religious person WHATSOEVER, but... I ain't shootin' no statue of Jesus! JUSSS SAYIN'!
