I think it's AMAZING that the motor in that snowplow STILL turns over! It could have been rusted solid - rings to bore/block, and likewise the bearings. Amazing!
Brent, I'd like to thank you for sharing your excitement with all of us. I wish I could come to see Cerro Gordo and meet you and the other folks who come to help, visit, or whatever they come for. Please never stop sharing these stories with us, as we would miss them and you.
I've been here and following the journey since the snowy night you drove in or got stuck coming up. I look forward to the day I can visit and stay there.
It's like he took two stories from "Think and Grow Rich," put them together, and lived them out. Very cool story and some very valuable lessons. You are living the dream, my man. You should be proud of yourself. A modern-day pioneer with an amazing spirt and infectious enthusiasm. Never lose that energy, my friend it would be a disservice to so many.
Brent I have been with you all this time. You have brought joy to my life. Your story telling is the best. Your journey and videos are as equal. Blessings to you from Moreno Valley, Ca.
I worked at Jeld Wen wayyyyyy back in the day and back then it seemed we were never late on orders. Especially custom windows or doors. Sad to hear they are slacking on you….
The only thing wrong with these videos is that they're over before you know it and the end always comes too soon, Brent. Thanks for the nearly five years I've been with this channel, and here's hoping for another five to come.
Thank you. I love seeing how things have grown and changed over the past few years, but I also love seeing you go back to your "roots" as it were. I always love seeing the trails and mines and how they have changed since you've last been there. The desert has great peace and beauty to it, though it is a harsh and unforgiving place.
I've been watching you since day 1. And I love your journey. I wish I was helping you. I love refurbishing old stuff. I want to come visit and see you in person. I want to see the amazing accomplishments. I'm sooooo proud of you.
For the truck, I’d vote #1) the corn-binder (nickname for IH) or #2 old Yeller. Sure enjoy these updates and seeing your growth as a great historian of our time. Thanks to all those who make this experiment happen 🌞🙏
I think "Old Yeller" would be a good name for the new plow Brent. Gotta have that southern twang for Yeller rather than Yellow. God bless and good luck to you, Brent.
Long time viewer. I admire you and your accomplishments greatly! It seems to be all coming together through largely your efforts and your drive. Love your enthusiasm, your respect for others and respect for earth, the history you relate and how articulate and open you have been in your journey. Thanks for your endeavors, and sharing your remarable story.
Great ideal when it comes to the dams. Once again I would recommend planting some ice plants. Once they get established their roots will help stabilize the ground and strength those dam's Since they are a succulent they will adjust to weather conditions. Same as the poppies they will strengthen the ground and adjust to weather patterns
Ole Yeller! LOL This is amazing seeing all of this tech stuff going in - wow. Just think they had to deal with very simple means - no electricity. Just very tough circumstances. Can you imagine the road/trail up there? Good grief. You are living such an awesome life. And you've shared it with so many. I "envy" those who have gotten to go up there and see with their own eyes. Again, thanks for sharing.
The internet is a huge milestone in the living history of the town. I must say though, the smile on your face when you started discussing the letters was awesome. I can only imagine the excitement of gaining such insight. It’s great to see the town continually growing and improving.
Brent, The late window delivery is not just happening to you. My sister is trying to get her house finished in Michigan and the windows are now 3 months late. The manufacturer just keeps saying things are on backorder due to a lack of production capacity. Meantime winter is about to hit Michigan and they are at this point just looking at covering the openings with a combination of plywood and plastic for the winter.
My friend is a builder in Michigan and has 2 jobs waiting on windows . One has been months of delays. the other is only one week late, so far. they are preparing for not getting the second order until spring.
Brent i just want to say your looking good And i can see the glow in your face And the big smile you have I've been watching you since you started You came a long way And look at you now And what you have accomplished I have a thought In the spring why not dig a place you can catch water A small dam if you will Maybe in time it will hold water Nice to see you again Take care of yourself Until next time Fireman 🔥🔥🔥👍
Hey Brent! I work in construction project management renovating old buildings. We have our windows out for the winter too. Corex, 3 mil poly, and weatherstripping will help keep water and snow out of the hotel if your windows don't come in time. Good luck!!!
It's amazing and cool too see all that's happend in the time you have been there Brent! All the help from different people and now you have great internet for more videos maybe😉 thank you for sharing all the video's and time whit us!
I like the water runoff ideas. I’ve seen local road crews bring in hay bales, for in steep ditches to help with the spring freshet. Same idea with the permeable dam. Congrats on the internet feeds.👏 Have a safe winter. 🤙
You have true grit. The dedication to preserve and in some cases rebuild this remarkable place is inspiring. Hell of a ride so far, hope it continues. Thanks for sharing your dream Brent🙏
That 1959 truck and plow beats any of the junk they make today, and it doesn't need def. I bought a 1954 m38a1 jeep willys this past April, and the body and drive train were made so much heavier and better back then. I was lucky, because i live in Michigan, but the former owner who passed away, bought the jeep from a governot auction back in the 80's, and never titled it for the road. The jeep was used on the guy's northern Michigan property, and stored inside. I have it completely apart, the body and frame will be getting sand blasted and painted next spring, and i hope to be driving it late next year. The rig you have looks solid, hope it work's well for you, because you have really needed some kind of heavy plow. G-d bless.
I really love the idea of using the tailings/rock piles to create the retention dams. Maybe more of that idea all over the place to help green the mountain a little bit. Something about that is exciting to me.
Excellent content! The historical lessons you bring to us are truly cool Brent, not to mention the incredible projects you've engaged in while bringing Cerro Gordo back to life. I know the area very well, and your videos bring me back to when I was there, and teaches me much more about an area of California that has enchanted me for over 40 years. ✌
I work for a lumber yard in AK, and windows have always had an insane lead time, especially if they are a non-stock size. And, it doesn't matter which manufacturer you purchase from. I wish you well on the window adventure.
That snow plow is magnificent!!! A name doesn't come to mind, yet...but to be sure, a vehicle as magnificent as your snow plow must have a name worthy of it. I have a hard time believing it has been 1695 days because it all seems like it wasn't that long ago when you first set foot on Cerro Gordo. So much progress and yet so much more to do. But slowly but surely, it will all get done. Thank you for the updates and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, Brent.
You described well why thevgreats went to secluded locations to meditate... Someone already gave the truck nane as Old Yellow...I would just recommend spelling it as Ol'Yella...
I have a ‘51 international! And man finding/making brake parts and impossible to find bolt pattern wheels makes every repair annoying. But I still love it! I recommend naming it the Interfashionable
When I live in an intransient, yet hospitable environment, this actually spurs me on to make more progress on my own projects, because they become my source of change, with the additional gratification of knowing that it was my own personal efforts that affected those changes.
We would love to see a day in the life of Brent! How do you cook/ shower now that things have changed up there? Do you still work your day job you had when you first got here? How are the animals? Who else is living there with you? So many things we would love to know about Brent at Cerro Gordo!
I can't believe it's been almost 5 years since I started watching this channel. It's still one of my favorites!
Me too!! 😁
Finding Brent's channel in 2020 was one of the best scores of that entire year..😎
Hi, me too, Brent seems like a great gut. I would love to go there and help him do stuff that would be awesome.
How are your animals doing Brent, we haven't seen them in a while. Hope they are well.
Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to put that here.
Me too. Where has that time gone.
I can't believe it's been this long! What a joy it has been to follow 😍
Oi! Nerdforge!!
The plow could be called sunny. its yellow (like the sun), and it removes snow (like the sun).
Sunny is a good one I was thinking Big bird lol
@@knightsplumbingrepair5203I like Big Bird!
Old Yeller?
Merge the two.. Old Sunny
Old big bird sunny
Been watching these videos since the beginning. So cool to see how far you've come.
Old Yeller!
You have my vote!

@@jerryjeffw7373 Old Yeller I love it Jerry
Came to write that same name!
I was just coming to say this
Brent, I am happy to see you are back. I am 73 and I relate with you. You are doing a wonderful and fantastic work.
I can't believe how fast time flies! I can't wait to come visit Cerro Gordo one day!
It's amazing how many people have donated their time, skills and money to this venture. It is so nice to see all the hard work starting to pay off! ❤
I'm loving the old snow plow and I think you should call it Ol' Yeller!
I agree
I think it's AMAZING that the motor in that snowplow STILL turns over! It could have been rusted solid - rings to bore/block, and likewise the bearings. Amazing!

Thanks for the update, Brent. My suggestion for the name of the plow is, "The Snowverlord". Can't wait to visit one day!
I've been here and following the journey since the snowy night you drove in or got stuck coming up. I look forward to the day I can visit and stay there.
Hi Brent good to see you back.

The new truck has Cerro Gordo written all over it. What a perfect fit for that amazing town.
Colonel Mustard, would make a great name for the plow.
Ha!! I had to pause and zoom in to see your internet installer sporting a Eugene Oregon hat! Nice to see my hometown represented in Cerro Gordo!!
It’s good to see you back…
Brent I have been with you all this time. You have brought joy to my life. Your story telling is the best. Your journey and videos are as equal. Blessings to you from Moreno Valley, Ca.

Been here since the beginning. Love your town and story!
Glad you got the truck/plow. Name it Nugget.
Ive been hoping for an upload! You're doing something awesome man! Thanks for bringing us along the journey!
So good to see you again, missed your adventures.
The only thing wrong with these videos is that they're over before you know it and the end always comes too soon, Brent. Thanks for the nearly five years I've been with this channel, and here's hoping for another five to come.

You need to name that truck Mr. Plow.
“Call Mr. Plow, that’s my name! That name again is Mr. Plow!”
Watch out for Plow King
Thank you for these videos!
Amazing as always Brent! Look forward to the next one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s been amazing watching so far and I know that you will do so much more
Just over 4 months until 5 years! That's awesome.
Thank you for all of your videos Mr Underwood
How about the "Golden Oldie"? Seems like a name befitting your new truck.
Great ideal when it comes to the dams. Once again I would recommend planting some ice plants. And I think that tough truck's name should be Big Bertha 💪
Malachite often results from the supergene weathering and oxidation of primary sulfidic copper ores, and is often found with azurite.
That was my first thought. Green AF.

Old Yeller!!
Take the words right out of my mouth I was thinking the same thing Old yeller
old yeller / yellow submarine!

I was gonna say ole yeller 🤣
My thoughts exactly!!

For big drifts you need a V plow. You are not going to have enough power to push that straight plow through deep snow.
it will still do better than a standard 8 ft on a pickup truck.
Brent i just want to say your looking good And i can see the glow in your face And the big smile you have I've been watching you since you started You came a long way And look at you now And what you have accomplished I have a thought In the spring why not dig a place you can catch water A small dam if you will Maybe in time it will hold water Nice to see you again Take care of yourself Until next time

that old international has nowhere near the power of a modern truck. no def, sure, but also not much power or reliability
Name the old plow truck OLD YELLER ! I LIKE IT
Name for snow plow, Old Yeller, LOL

Great to see you back. A lot of work done since last time. Keep up the good work, and keep exploring.
He's alive!
The snowplow looks like an "Ol' Yeller" to me...
OLD YELLER! I think a very fitting name :)
"Ol Yeller" first name that came to mind
I would call the truck Old Yeller!
I've been watching you since Day one. Thank you for Chronicling your journey

Name the truck "Bumble Beast" 😊
Name the truck “Old Yellow Yeller.” Yeller for short.
Keep these vids coming. I love the info, and can't wait for the next one to see the progress of your town. Much respect.
