Manchmal erinnern mich diese Shootouts immer an die Anekdote über einen seinerzeit sehr bekannten Cellisten, der gebeten wurde, ein Cello zu testen. "Soll ich es zum Ankauf oder zum Verkauf spielen?" war seine Antwort.
Hier klangen die alten Instrumente zwar besser (bei der Tele war der Unterschied nicht so groß; bei der Les Paul schon deutlicher), aber man soll bitte nicht glauben, dass immer und grundsätzlich "älter=besser" gilt.
Ich liebe ja die Idee am Ende, daß die Musik in der Gitarre steckt ! So ähnlich wie Keith Richards mal sagte , die Songs fliegen in der Luft rum, Du brauchst sie nur zu fangen ! Ich habe aus Spass auch schonmal gesagt: Die Gitarre ist der Plattenspieler, mit seiner Platte (LP) und das Plektrum ist die Nadel ! Und wir müssen nur zwischen den Saiten, also den Rillen, die Musik abgreifen !!! Idiotic in some way , but I really Love that Thougt ! ;-) ich habe auch meine alte 1979er Fender Strat, so wie Thomas Weilbier schon sagt, wiederbelebt, nachdem ich sie n paar Jahre vernachlässigt habe... Die klingt jetzt richtig geil ! und den Halsstab richtig nachstellen bewirkt so viel, nicht nur playability, auch Sound.... !
I was selling guitars in the fall of 1969, and playing seriously since 1961 ... Great racket! I am convinced that much of the tone of old guitars, comes not only from the aging of the wood, but mostly from the amount of electricity that has been run through the pickups. Same thing with old amps, from the front of the amp, all the way to the speaker coil ...
Interesting...I know the wood used long ago had denser age rings normally...the wood was not mass produced so to speak so maybe the density of the wood...as far as the electricity theory...yes the electricity was better then too :>)

Interestingly, the old guitars which were used in legendary rock recordings were new at the time. Hmmm....

The wood drys out after sixty years or so and the guitar resonates more... I have a fifty year old Fuji Gen J200 acoustic; purchased it new in 1972. It sounded OK back then, but nothing to write home about. However... over the last few years it has started to sound awesome with so much more presence, projection and chacactor! It has to be the wood!
Don’t confuse acoustic guitars that use an air pump system to propagate sound with an electric guitar that use an magnetic pickup with transform the “ movement “ of the string in electricity. Movement not the sound of the string.
@@vintagepipesnightmares Even electric guitars are made of wood... some top end manufactures cure the wood for the bodies by putting them in a drying oven for several days to expel the moisture from the wood. This process continues over several decades after the guitars are made; thereby changing the resonance of the wood and thereby the tone. If you have ever stood in front of a powerful/loud amplifier with a solid or semisolid guitar you can feel the resonance of the wood which in turn feeds back through the strings and then magnetic pickup... saying that electric guitars only get their tone and sound from the electrical/magnetic side is a misnomer... with electric guitars, at the right volume... it's a combination of magnetic pick up and resonance/feedback of the wood.! Why else would manufacturers use different types of wood?

@@Jammoko does magnets hear wood ? Do you know how a plexiglass Strat sounds like ? Just like a Strat. All Trussard guitars are made out of steel. Sounds just like a guitar. Danelectro are made of plastic. Why they use different woods ? For the price of it, for availability weight etc. does magnets attract wood ?
@@vintagepipesnightmares It appears that you don't understand physics... everything on the planet resonates! Wood will react to air waves from speakers, which inturn resonates the (metal) strings which induces electrical current with-in the magnets of the pickups... why do you think electric guitars get feedback? They will go into self ossilation and a continous feed back if not controlled by the player or soundman! Different woods will have different resonant frequencies so will resonate more at certain prime frequencies; so choice of woods can be critical! Even plexiglass will resonate... but probably not as easily as wood as wood on the whole is less dense then metal and plastic. Again... why do you think many electric guitar players when buying a new guitar will test a guitar without it being pluggen into an amplifier initially to see how resonate the body is (loud) to the reaction of the strings!
He’s spot on…I tell people all the time…you can fake aged wood,degaussing in pickups…that’s why all those relics maybe a feel …but not the sound…that’s Mother Nature…can’t fake time..🇺🇸👍👍👍
They sound so similar. But the price is not similar.
Leo Fender hat Erle und Ahorn gewählt, weil es billig in der Anschaffung war, nur mal zur Info...wobei ich nichts mehr liebe als meine Mexico Strats und meine Harley Benton Gitarren, die sind zwar nicht teuer aber nicht schlechter als doppelt so teure..ist eben alles relativ 🤘🏻
Diese Vintage-Freaks reden sich aber auch gerne was ein. Immer diese Suche nach dem Heiligen Gral ist doch irgendwie krank
... bei der Tele fand ich den Unterschied nicht nachteilig.... bei der Les Paul schon... die 1960 iger hat dieses gewisse Etwas

I don´t think, fingers do a better job on old wood than new. Best exemple is Greg Koch. But sound´s different, that´s all, expect the price....!
....schade... die neuen Gitarren sind nicht schlecht.... aber das alte Holz klingt halt besser.... wäre es umgekehrt... gebe es den historischen Wert und dies wär s dann gewesen....
es gibt nichts was nicht zu machen ist.....leider haben es halt noch die falschen Leute in der Hand.... und die leben von der Substanz aber besser als jemals zuvor.... warum sollten sie was verändern
