    @fregrowli have you ever tried adding that dewax column below a normal spool? For instance i have a 1.5 x 36 de-wax column as well as a 1.5 x 36 spool. When creating the unit I place the normal spool above the de-wax column, with a 100 micron filter/gasket between them. I pack the material into the spool and go through the normal blasting procedure. The difference is in my unit the solvent initially runs through the normal spool and material, then collects into the de-waxing spool (it then is stopped here by a ball valve.) I let it sit in the de-waxing spool for 40-50 minutes and really allow for the lipids to coagulate. It then is filtered through filters plates ect.
    What I see here is you chilling the unit down and doing a cold extraction. True de-waxing similar to winterization is when you really freeze out those lipids using the subzero temperatures. I believe it takes minimum 45 minutes for this to happen at those temps.
    Recently I was doing the same shown here in this video. I noticed it really did help with color and de-waxing compared to just a normal spool. Yet after trying both I can say one really works better than another. Also look into adding ball bearings, coffe filters, steel wool, ect into your de-wax column and filtering plates.
    Kind of rushed typing this and stoned to the bone off some dabbies. Take everything with a grain of salt :) Happy extracting, the stuff looks good
    Cheers!

      Navr183 Navr183 I agree 100 percent. Separate your material from your solvent before the dewax. That one cylinder dewaxing is a con. It’s 1 + 1. Initially I was worried about filtering the material as well as the fats through the same filter,, but learned there are so many other variables. If you want a proper loop dewax,,, you need that sleeved column under your spool. Dump the solvent and goodies in your dewax column,, and dewax. Good point Nav. They should hire you to stop them from looking so silly

      Would leaving the material and solvent in the cold tube achieve the same result?

    Subbed. Some people in the industry tried to hide techniques like these for the longest time.

    Hi, a very informative and actually professional! Thank You. Really, may be the best set of videos out there, even better then some of the extractor companies!
    One question:
    Right around 3:23 in the video, you are adding dry ice around the butane tank. You say nothing about it in the video... :)
    Didn't you say the gas will chase the cold and to chill the receiving end? here it looks like both ends are chilled.
    The question of chilling butane is discussed online but i wanted your thoughts as i would like to fallow your example.
    thank you:)

    Thank you so much for making this video series. It has been a huge help for me to learn how to run my cls system. I ordered this same system from bvv except I added the ball valve as well. It's been 10 days since I ordered and it's finally supposed to arrive tomorrow.
    I do have a question. When using the dewaxing column and ball valve this is how I'm assuming I would do it. Pull a vac in the entire system then close the ball valve and flood the dewaxing materials column allowing it to soak for 30 minutes. After soaking then I would open the ball valve and allow the solution into the base. Then leave all the valves open to the top of the column during recovery. Does this sound correct to you fregrowli? Or anyone else reading this? Thanks in advance!
    And thanks again for posting this very informative series! I would've never known to distill my butane and that's just one tip I picked up!

      Doug Ireland All sounds good except I leave my ball valve closed during passive recovery. Solvent likes to chase the dry ice/cold, which your dewax column uses. There are ways but it's a much longer process unless you actively recover with a proper vac pump. Cheers!

      Im sure by now you have learned that you need a spool to separate your goodies from the material in a spool before you dump into your dewax column to chill. Hope all is going well.

    Quality over quantity is what I have been saying, but it's not like that with everyone I have talked to and it blew my mind that they like more for less; Purity and taste is the two of the top three, last would be consistency of material and weight overall for my final product of medicine!

      Phoenix Errlybird why do you say they are dangerous? Like they could break basically? I'm just wondering because I have one on my system but I don't have to use it and won't if it's dangerous.

    hello, i saw your videos. I would like to know what is the difference between normal extraction and extraction with dewaxing. I got the color oil like video # 5. I would like to know if with dewaxing, that same oil, is clear as video # 7? thanks for your attention.

    • @fregrowli
      @fregrowli  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many factors that can affect color, but dewaxing is a priority in obtaining clean, pure concentrates, and the generally desired color.

    when you scrape the product out of the splatter platter, is that material harder to eventually turn to shatter? does it stay more crumbly? I heard that when you mess with the viscosity it is harder to turn to shatter. please advise #extractionkings517 #coldwatermichigan #terpcontrol

    • @fregrowli
      @fregrowli  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul James Keasler It seems scraping can potentially cause that, but 9/10 times I end up with shatter. I should note I only scrape up to maybe 98%. I am not digging that deep.

    great video man, thank you. I was wondering how the dewaxing sleeve works is it that it's so cold at the fats and lipids aren't extracted or do the fats and lipids somehow stick to the tube and then need to be cleaned? thanks.

    • @titoondeck978
      @titoondeck978 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      robert oswald. the plant fats and waxes and lipids actually frezze and gets separated by filters but keep in mind you can actually frezze the thc itself if you get to cold

    Why go outside? It's a closed loop system the, solvent stays inside! All the companies I've seen do this indoors! As long as your solvent doesn't leak into the atmosphere, there is no need to move outside.
