    I’ve been working in this industry for awhile moving up in ranks extraction always interesting to me but I know absolutely nothing I’m a hard worker I pick up things very fast my boss is giving me the opportunity to learn with the extractors before they go back to cali so I can be the lead extractor wish me luck I’m here to learn knowledge is pay 💪

    Pump (cfm) size and a proper vacuum oven are really the only 2 items that need to be legit.

    Can I run my molecular sieve before it hits my recovery tank? Or do I have to do it after while I’m recovering?

  • @TheSweettalk
    @TheSweettalk ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the molecular sieve need heated or chilled?

    He meant 250C for recharging those sieves, not 250F

      @@SetTheCurve you don't need to heat your seive to 250c to remove the moisture from the beads😂😂😂😂😂 YOU SIR ARE DOING IT WRONG.

      @@JohnGrowKnows on a second look, it seems like many people recommend lower temperatures such as 200 to 300 F, but for longer durations the cooler you get. Odd, when I looked this up initially I saw mainly much higher temperatures. Does anyone have a reference for an actual study showing desorption rates?

    • @JohnGrowKnows
      @JohnGrowKnows 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SetTheCurve in most cases you'll remove the seive from the housing and wash with a neutral solvent to remove any volatiles that may have come through. Then you would place the beads into a vacuum oven with a cold trap to remove the solvent completely before using again.

    How about decarbing before vs after hydrocarbon extraction?

    • @OpenSourceSteel
      @OpenSourceSteel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on your desired outcome. THC-A will create a solid/crystal at room temps. Decarbed THC Delta-9 will be more of an oil consistency which is useful for vape pens.
      Vape Pen = D9 THC
      Wax/Shatter/Badder/Diamonds = THC-A
      Decarbing removes the carboxylic acid group (R−CO₂H, the -A in THC-A)
      Decarbing is also a useful process prior to oil distillation using short path/wiped film. It removes the energry necessary during the process for THC-A to D9 convertion during the distillation.

    Hi guys
    I'm a complete beginner, I dont have an extraction system yet,I'm from Australia and researching using CBD oil for my bad Arthritis,and I've been shopping around looking to buy a set up can you recommend one for beginners to start out with?

    • @eternalsoundsolution
      @eternalsoundsolution 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      get a rosin press, simplest way to make extract directly from flower, no need to isolate the cbd, just get a high cbd flowering strain, look up rosin extraction

    • @eternalsoundsolution
      @eternalsoundsolution 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh and it's a solventless method too ;)

      THANK YOU may I explain my reasoning and exactly what I'm wanting this for, I wish to make using both the simplest and cheapest processes, as in a combined THC and CBD Oil from ordinary bud that I can make in my kitchen to digest under the tongue for my severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and IBS.
      So will a rosin press pull out the combination of THC and CBD into an oil I can refrigerate ?

    • @eternalsoundsolution
      @eternalsoundsolution 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@traceelements1965 you just need to blend it with mct oil and a bit of sunflower lecithin, figure about 85-90 % cannabinoids in your rosin and go from there (for a mg/ml dosage), all done in my kitchen too, from my own grown bud (no cbd dominant strains tho) also keep in mind this will be all the "A's" CBDA, THCA CBGA etc so will be good for that ibs (THCA is best for inflammation) all you need to do is decarboxylate the rosin for active stuff (CBD, THC, etc) the rosin comes out like taffee at room temp fridge hardens it (for collection) and warm temps make it runnier, but thicker than an oil for sure, more like grease, to shatter like consistency depending on the temps you use...good luck

      @@eternalsoundsolution You're so helpful THANK YOU..I have to gather the tools needed over time eg finances and finding just the right product to use, but when I'm ready to begin I may need more of your advice, if thats ok,and I will be eager to try out the finished product, cause at this stage, I'm willing to try almost anything to help ease my pain..I'm only 55 but I've had the RA since I was a child and the pain, inflammation and stiffness in all of my joints and back is so debilitating everyday..thanks again..
