Running over 30 laps with the same set of tyres would lose excessive rubber. Mercedes knew there could be a weight problem all along and so they left over 2.8 litres of fuel in Russell's car before weight checking. I've been saying this since Lewis told Toto he was going to Ferrari. Mercedes will not allow LH to beat GR in the driver's standings come seasons end (AGAIN) as this will demoralize the young pretender going forward. But you can't keep the GOAT down as easy as they thought.

Mercedes forgot Lewis is in the same league of drivers as Max Verstappen, Michael Schumacher and Aryton Senna, once given the right tools he becomes a racing god, like the other names I've just mentioned. @NeilBevan-to7bn หลายเดือนก่อน

@@geraldtopfer4929 Mercedes were not expected to be anywhere near the front at Spa as they found out after Friday's upgrades not working. Everyone had to compromise on their set up with them knowing rain was due for qualy, but good weather for the race. Red Bull chose maximum down force to get pole so Max would start 11th and no worse, but that high rear wing was no good for Sunday. George has out qualified Lewis just about all season so far, with Lewis suspecting something was not fair in the camp. Toto wasn't expecting Merc' to be anywhere near the front, and the feeling is that if the Merc' pair were to finish off the podium (say 5th and 6th) as many had suggested, then their cars would not have to be weighed post race. Georges car has probably been made lighter most of this season so as to out qualy LH, and as we all witnessed directly after the race, Toto's face was not a happy one, maybe because he 'knew' their cars were going to be weighed and George would be disqualified. I'm not the ONLY person to think this on various media sights.

They did Ham wrong on many occasion during this race. And the car being underweight clearly would've help George stint for that long while also maintaining his pace under attack. Less weight, less deg! Hence the suspicion by the FIA after checking the initial weight. They suspected something was wrong and there find the car legality was compromised. Understandably so. But there’s more to this than just fuel and tire wear. It was stated that, further investigated was taken due to suspicion after finding the car weight precisely being set at what’s legally required after extraction of fuel. Hence the thorough investigation that lead to finding the car of it self being underweight aside from tire wear and fuel consumption.
This is publish by the FIA and not me.
In other cases of hypothetically speaking as we are, Wolf and the team could appeal and rightfully so win the outcome had it been a matter of tire wear, right?
Instead, they put out a statement claiming they’ll learn from it which means they were fully aware of this for all we logically know.

So true! I can't be the only one noticing how Russell always chooses a strategy that goes against Lewis to get the one-up on Lewis whenever Lewis pits first, instead of running his own race strategy against the rest of the field! Plotting on Lewis is his specialty. Once George realized Lewis pit early to cover Leclerc he went on the radio immediately to go for the 1 stopper instead of considering how to work together or be a team player. Now imagine had Lewis gotten by George how George would act if Lewis didn't hang tight to lend him a draft to keep Piastri off his back...George is a 1 way street as far as teamwork goes.

He can make up all the excuses he likes but he knows Hamilton will see they've been doing this shit for months and got caught because they weren't expecting Russel to win, he was supposed to come P5. But Russel's 1.5kg lighter car was overperforming allowing him to do the impossible and go for a one stop in Belgium GP. I actually dislike George a lot. I'm just setting the record straight. Plus, depending on which story you go with, either it's because the tires were too worn out, which means it wasn't 1.5kg lighter the whole race (I don't buy this really, they knew EXACTLY how much fuel to keep in the car to make it EXACTLY the minimum weight before having to drain the rest and ending 1.5kg under) or because of ballast/weight distribution from the wet weather quali and someone flat out screwed up, in which case he was 1.5kg underweight the entire race. That also could mean they broke parc ferme, but I'm not quite sure on the ballast adjustment. sporting regs don't mention it specifically, but because the weather changed so drastically, they may have been able to redistribute the weight. If not, they could be in line for a bigger punishment if parc ferme rules were found to be broken.

    SummarySpeed Differential:
A 1.5 kg weight reduction might result in a lap time improvement of approximately 0.045 to 0.06 seconds per lap, varying slightly with the track layout.
    Tyre Degradation:
The lighter car would experience reduced tyre wear and better temperature management, which could translate into better tire performance over a race stint.
In practice, F1 teams meticulously calculate these impacts and adjust their strategies accordingly, considering various factors like fuel loads, track conditions, and race dynamics.

You must have an understanding of racing and car dynamics, but more importantly the driver, especially in this case. Hamilton, did not really try to challenge Russell in the last 4 laps. There was not even a try to out brake. There was no lunge attempt. In this case air turbulence did not matter. Hamilton made the decision to let him win and not challenge. But you must have an understanding of the dynamics I mentioned to see this and draw this conclusion. Hamilton could have passed Russell if he wanted to, unless there was deliberate blocking and risking collision. Pretty simple to draw this conclusion if you look and study closely.
