Issues with my Ford Maverick at 21k miles | UPDATED**

- UPDATE - It ended up being the exhaust slipped out of the hanger underneath the truck. slipped the exhaust back into the rubber mount and it solved the noise.
At 21,000 miles my 2022 Ford Maverick devolved a lound rattle. #fordmaverick #fordmavericktruck

It ended up that the exhaust slipped out of the hanger underneath the truck. Slipped it back in and the rattle went away.
So no real issue or was something faulty?

That’s funny. Everyone’s so eager to get on the wagon of talking shit about this little truck, and it ended up being an exhaust hanger? Now I know how the Prius owners feel lol. I still love my little boosted truck.

sounds like the flux capacitor might need to be swapped out
Look underneath and see if you have a stick or something wedged . I've collected debris from off road excursions that ended up creating random rattles.
I'm definitely checking that out in the morning. I'm hoping it's the heat sheild or skid plate.
It may be a very minor problem but lord if that das has to come out.... . :(

Yeah. 21k since the last week of April.
Yup, back to the dealer with this one for sure.
I had a 2013 Focus ST with the 2.0 engine and I sold it with 200k on it. No issues!
The blower fan is rubbing the cabin air filter, take out the cabin filter and drive around and see if you still hear the noise. I had the same noise in my Honda element. And I adjusted the filter in side and the noise went away.
I'll have to check that. But the AC is off, unless that blower motor runs all the time.
Would be easy to find.....get down there and look!!
Kind of hard to look behind the dash.
My buddy bought one, motor locked up @6900 miles! Junk, almost sounds like broken flywheel or torque converter

I have a Hybrid and almost the exact same mileage while I don’t have that issue there’s a rattling noise that comes from the dash area when I’m on the highway especially when there’s strong winds
I've heard that. Luckily I don't have that. Some people say it's the windshield.

@@OverlandFlorida I was thinking along the same lines or an exhaust bracket. Since seems to only happen when the engine and trans are under some sort of torque or load. It may just be enough to shift something to rattle like that. It would be interesting to know what it was when you actually find out.

Really following folks like you as this truck is pretty sweet. Btw whats mpg loaded like this on a trek w a passenger
26mpg around town. I got 29mpg on the interstate from Virginia to Florida with the cruise control set at 76mph. That's loaded down with all my camping gear too.

Just a thought……A mouse could have gotten in and there is a acorn or dog food in the blower motor. Happen to me.
I'm not sure. It does it with the AC off, unless the blower motor always runs.

Maverick owners usually get frustrated with me when I say this, and certainly understandably, but this was a first gen platform from a relatively unreliable auto manufacturer. The trucks are insanely cheap, and people don’t realize they had to save money somewhere. If you pay $25k for a brand new truck in 2021-2022, you’re going to get what you pay for. Ford isn’t taking the financial hit for that truck being so cheap.
Of course. I mean, this is the only issue I've had. Sometimes shit just happens.
oh I dont know about all that..I own a XLT Eco and it is a very tight vehicle (trucklet)..this platform has been around a bit and with the exception of some of the early 2.0 eco boost issues the engine is pretty sound. they saved money by building on a existing platform, drivetrain etc.

I drive an 01 ranger daily. Well over 200k on the clock. Never had a wrench on it So much for unreliable

Man! A bunch of Toy fan boys! I’ve had most brands, and own 3 new fords now including the hybrid maverick. Never had issues in the past with Fords. Been driving Fords and other brands for 30 years now! I had 3 new Toyota hybrids and sold them to get my 2 Broncos and the Maverick. Ford has had recalls but so has My Toyota Venza. No big deal. U do have a reliable vehicle and like u said “shit happens”.
