Sam, Great comparison video as always. Two formidable contenders in a very competitive segment. I like what Nissan has done with the 2022 Rogue, options, fit and finish, style and overall package. It's spot on for most busy families, as they have price points and trims to make it doable on all budgets. As for the CR-V, well it does everything pretty much bang on and has since 1997 when it first launched. I don't know of one owner that didn't love their CR-V other than maybe engine output with the first gen series. With that said; I feel the available options on the Rogue (Panaroof, heads up display) make it feel like a more luxurious delivery than the CR-V. Trim level for trim level it feels more upscale. As for price? Well the CR-V just keep climbing up and up to where it's priced itself out of some people compact SUV budget, but then again the resale is and always has been top notch - so perhaps that $7,000 premium over the Rogue (Initially) might not be $7,000 in the end? Nevertheless, great video, great camera shots of stills and rolling content. Keep up the great work! Chris

Nice comparison, I'm from Saudi Arabia, The Nissan rogue's name in our market is X-trail, I'm not quite sure if Honda already launched this new generation of CRV in our markets. To be honest I still haven't noticed any in the streets. Nevertheless, I was confused between the X-trail and some other competitors in the market like RV4, CX5, and Hyundai Tucson. I ended up buying the X-trail because for me it was the best overall when it comes to features, performance, space, and driving experience, apart from the front design which I'm not a big fan of, just like you I think that Nissan did a great job with this new X-trail (Rouge) I'm sure that the front will grow on me, I hope so😅 back to your comparison, Nissan rogue for me is the winner by miles hands down, and I'm not biased at all, I used to fan of Honda but I think that they have been improving slowly in the recent years and they still need a lot of work in order to catch up with the other competitors.
    Cheers

I rented the rogue this weekend while out of town. I was really impressed with the overall performance & comfort. I put over a thousand miles on it in 2 days. The 3 cylinder turbo never struggled to get to speed. I didn’t know it was a 3 until I did some research. It felt like a much larger displacement engine. The fit, finish, comfort & ride was very good. The think I was impressed with most was the gas mileage. I averaged 33 while cruising at 85-90mph. In city it got even better fuel mileage with peaks of 39. I could definitely see this as a daily driver.

CRV over Rogue. End of the day Honda has better known reliability and resale. If Nissan could get rid of their garbage Jatco transmissions it would be a step in the right direction. Aside from resale and reliability, CRV has better exterior styling and I slightly prefer the Nissans interior over CRV. But end of the day CRV overall, just more pros than cons. I’ve driven a rogue and they just feel under powered as well compared to a Honda. A family member of mine has had multiple Altimas since 06 and they have all had multiple problems with different things by the end of a 3yr lease with all of them and have terrible resale value

By no mean, Nissan and Mitsubishi is comparable with Honda and Toyota. If you are just fan of features, then CRV is a big no. We were in the market for a new compact suv. Test drove the new Nissan Rogue platinum, and then we test drove the 2024 CRV Touring Hybrid. Our findings were that Nissan Rouge had more bells and whistles. We found Rouge to be more roomier. It was also $7k less than CRV. Rogue had a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, almost full ceiling moon roof. CRV was lacking all that. Just to name a few. The decision was easy. We went for the Rogue. I'm picking up my new Rogue tomorrow.

The new Nissan three cylinder engine in the Rogue is experiencing major issues. I work at a Nissan dealership and we’ve replaced a few long blocks on them due to cracking. Out of the close to 30 employees at my service department (Advisors and techs), only 6-7 drive Nissans. And they are mostly 90s Nissans when they were reliable.
There’s a reason I chose to work at Nissan but drive a Honda. Because the month-end bonus at Nissan is way higher compared to Honda. Replacing transmissions gross way higher than spark plugs and air filters, even if it’s warranty jobs. We easily have 20+ transmissions in the storage area right now. Some waiting to go back to Nissan, some waiting to go into cars.

Hi, Sam, great video. The comparison between CRV hybrid vs Rouge is a little bit off. Actually, I bought Rouge SV in March, and just purchase a CRV EX last month. I can say that I like the Rouge way better, and it is cheaper. Here are some comparisons from mine. 1) Engine: CRV engine is the same as last verion and is less power than Rouge's new engine. I can feel that very obvious at freeway speed above 70 mph; 2) Infotainment display: CRV is 7 in, while Rouge is 9 in. CRV driver display is a weird combination of half LCD and a meter; 3) Suepension: CRV is more comfortable; 4) I feel Rouge is bigger in space; CRV reduce the headroom by 2 in compared to the previous version. People always saying CRV is longer and wider, but not mentioning shorter. Overall, I feel Rouge worth the money.

@@Flying-Fox19 Both my wife and I have to commute long to work unfortunately, and we have two kids. SUVs are safer and comfortable, they are the last protection in such crazy LA traffic. I drove 25000 miles per year, and my company provide free charging. I was thinking buying EV, but SUV EVs are super expensive. Tesla Y is my dream car, but I cannot afford it, because I have to drove more than 150k miles to balance the higher cost, let alone the higher insurance and the tire cost.
Dealers add a lot of mark up to hybrid models, and I also need to drove at least 100k miles to compensate the cost.
I don't think EV and hydrid worth the money I pay extra. My next car will be an EV in 4-5 years. Right now I am OK to suffer from visiting gas station twice a week and high gas price. Overall, we are happy to drive our Rouge and CRV,

I bought the CRV EXL back in October, i drove it for 3.5k mile already. 1) the 1.5T is just enough, other than the slow acceleration, i don't have any problem getting above 70mph. (if i wait 2 more month, i would have get the Touring) 2) EXL has 9inch display so i don't have any complain. 3) CRV is very smooth and more quiet than the last gen 4) CRV is more roomy than Rouge and rear seats are more comfortable.
Other than the few thousand dollar difference, i think CRV is better than the Rouge. Eventually it will make up from the repair bill.

Recently just got the CRV EX-L for my mother and I really did my research. For her and some people specifically, more bells and whistles are not a good thing. This will be her vehicle until its reaches the end of its life and more things to break down or maintain in 10 years plus is no good. Found new hondas on average to be more reliable than nissan from various reviews, CReports and online feedback from reddit and I wanted my mother to be as worry free as possible so that was a big deciding factor. We find new tech features to be gimmicky as its not essential to operate and just adds too many options which isn't always good. In our case for her needs, the new CR-V was well worth the price for peace of mind and simplicity. Prefer the look of it also in the white option with dark accents.

I work at a Honda dealership. Sold 200 total cars this year, we get lots of trade ins, good and bad. For a Nissan Rogue to pass our safety inspection, it has to be 2018 or up model, if it’s older than that, it always fails our safety. We also have cars that are excellent condition even at 2010( it always happens to be a Honda or Toyota)
I’m always scared of selling OFF MAKE brands like Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, VW, I want to build a good clientele and get referrals business and if I sell those brands, I’m not getting any business back. Out of all the Hondas I have sold, only one car had some issues, that was a 2021 Passport touring, my customer had to come back to the dealership 3 times because the screen would go off on him and the wireless charging would not work. Never had anyone come back with a new or pre owned crv.

I feel Rogue, Tucson and Sportage are actually very good cars. Their brand value might be less but they have good sales after RAV4 and CRV in this segment. Hyundai and Kia give 10 year warranty on the power train.
Also, 2022 Rogue got higher safety ratings compared to CRV as per IIHS safety picks, check their site.
Also, Tucson and Sportage are on their top 5 best small SUVs as per Edmunds rankings.

We never did mark ups for more than $500 which is all weather mats and trunk they.
The Koreans have some a long way, the only thing they can give is 10 years warranty, which is 100,000 .
Unfortunately, the cars die after that, they don’t invest in good engines and transmission for reliability. Rogue was redesigned in 2022, that why it has a higher safety rating, now in 2023 cr-will pass with flying colours in iihs
No matter how the car looks in videos, test drive is crucially important, it makes such a difference and that’s the reason Honda and Toyota fall in tier one of car sales.

I would go with a CRV just because when my wife bought her used 2011 Honda Fit last year, the Ontario Honda dealership replaced the suspension front and rear, the brakes front and rear, and replaced the indicator lights and reflectors and touched up the body paint. We were both impressed that Honda did not have to do that, but they did.
I will see what happens in a couple of years, but if I can swing it, I will get a used CRV. I still have not test driven any CRV, so I’m looking forward to doing so.
