The lamp is really cool. You could have bunch of stylish brushed steel plates on the wall in places you might want to use the lamp. I know that wouldn't be the simplest or most practical way but I think that kind of playful designs are cool. I just might do one of those myself.

For your planter I would make a suggestion to save time in the future. First drill a center hole all the way through the piece with a regular bit long enough to do so. Then use that to line up your hole saw from each side. even if the hole saw doesn't reach over halfway from each side there will still be less chiselling.

maaan your videos are just awesome! since i fisrt saw a video were you making a floating bed i was shocked! got a pretty simple way to explain your self easy and smart , plus the ideas you bring up on your videos are all way futuristics and super smart and clean it's just quite amazing how some simple stuff can just have a powerfull impact on decoration ! congratulations !
Glen, I love your ideas and the way you explain all the process, I've been following your channel for a bit and I learned a lot. Anyway, here is suggestion about achieving smoothness of concrete: try pouring into mix some kind of plasticiser (in Europe we use Ceresit CN 94, or various products of Sika), great substitute for this will be the base which painters use to separate old surface area from the new (chemical which removes dust and creates individual surface) it will give you a bit shiny surface but it will be smooth, and dont hesitate with water, add a bit more water into mix so you can avoid defects and bubbles in your concrete shapes. Water will not damage or change the structure of concrete itself because it will go all the way up to the surface and vapour really quick (12-24h). All the best, love your videos!

I think I'm going to give that magnetic lamp a try. I live in a house with a lot of oak & this should blend in with the existing cabinets of the late 60's ranch/modern built-ins left there by the previous owners/tenants. Can Danish oil be sealed with a clear coat?
