I usually hate DIY channels for lack of professional approach and often complicated but useless work, but this guy here is whole a different story, what he does is practical, modern and good looking.
Well put together, the step-by-step was enough to describe what was done but not over analyzed to be boring. Glad to see you added some links in the description and really enjoyed the commentary.
I think this is beautiful...would have never thought of it. My son in law is a concrete business owner and worker....he would love this. I now have a few ideas on how to use these....thank you so much LOVE IT!!!
what I absolutely love about this video is the fact that your instructions and how to's were clear and concise! alot of new DIY-SELFERS including me, have trouble understanding methods and materials from other videos, this is awesome work too!
I saw this on Facebook a few hours ago but the last half of the video was cut so I didn't get to see how it all came together. I'm glad I found it on TH-cam bcuz I really want to do this as a gift for a family member. Thanks!
you can save the PVC piping by applying baby oil to the inner walls of it, once you've let the concrete cure, simply tap it a few times with the mallet to free the mold! some concrete pros use baby oil, vaseline and even butter you can also use cooking oil or Pam! :P lol
I don't want this to be interpreted wrong, but its good to see a black man doing this kind of stuff on youtube! The diy community on youtube is very light, it's good to see you mixing things up! Peace from the east coast!
Tip. You could add coloured glass pieces and mix them into the concrete and then when it hardens, spray it with clearcoat. The results will be STUNNING..
i like the concrete look its different and better vs. plastic or wood. l may make mines a bit larger though just because l have more space to cover and lite.
If you put a slit down the PVC pipe before filling, you can reuse the form, I just use packing tape to keep it tight. Wipe the inside with vegetable oil before filling and it slides right out. Your lights are awesome!!
The Craft Hacker nope, that's where all the law suits from idiots and gold diggers come in place. Better make the money of youtube. he has 300k+ subscribers
If its for indoors and you want a soft look, try inkjet refill ink. It provides a very rich soft colour. You could also try acrylic paint, add to the water prior to mixing. Coloured chalk added to the dry mix might look pretty good too.
I just came across your video and am hooked. I was planning on going to bed early but now I know I'm going to be up watching a bunch of your DIY videos. I hope to one day make something awesome from this. I don't really have any tools so am grateful for you thinking of us newbies! Thank you so much for taking the time on making these videos for us viewers. You are amazingly talented!
try spraying the PVC with a generous amount of cooking spray and the concrete should slide out just wait a few hours then slide it out let it dry completely
I think it would look even better if you frosted/sandblasted the glass a bit.. not completely, just enough to make it a little foggy. Came out awesome though, nice job
:D Thank you. There is many ways to do this, the tools I used only make it a faster. Many people have made it and share it with me on instagram. You can do it.
they turned out really cool....they would also be great outdoor night lights...I think I would just carry them around to what ever part of the house I was at...to cool to leave alone...great job...love your style
D rB yup we use diesel fuel on wood if form oil isn't available, but I bet vegetable oil works. I bet spitting the pvc in strips and putting them back together with duct tape would make them reusable
That's a great project! In my book you ARE "The Professor"! Keep them video's comin'!! Thank you for the inspiration to create something new & different!! Peace Out.
Very nice project. One tip. I would cut the PVC pipe all the way through and hot glue or wrap sturdy tape around it before filling with concrete. This would also make the mold reusable. Also, spray the insides with cooking spray for easy removal.
I cut steel for my art and I really like your chop saw table set up. Those lamps are so cool, not sure I have the skill set to make them! Amazing! You really should sell them on Etsy. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! What a clever idea! The design is so ambiguous that with minimal effort one could simply change the LED colors w remote or swap the light strand and decorate for any holiday! Except maybe Labor Day- I have no idea how that one would work... cover it with sweat pants or something? ha ;) Great tutorial!
DIY Creators I just saw the thumbnail pic on your how to make a yard sign video.... are you from Cleveland?!?! If so do you have a shop or particular store where you sell your items?
No I am from Jamaica. The yard sign was for a friend. At the moment I don't have a way to sell the items. It will be a huge burden being that I work a full time job this is just my hobby.
Way cool man! If you're impatient like me, you can also use quikrete latex cement which can cure in just a couple of hours, there's also pretty cheap additives you can add to speed that up to as little as a half hour.
Just subscribed & supported because of you & your concrete lamps. Your information delivery & video are clear, concise & well paced, slow enough to absorb the info without dragging, and interesting tips. Love that it's a modern style DIY!
I'm looking at the link sent . I just have one more question . How many meters have you used ? LEDs or quantity ? I saw a few with 2m , 3m, and 10m² . Thank you.

How to make trees for stage
This is such a cool idea!
Nice
Even though this is older, in my mind THIS is what TH-cam should be about! Building things, not tearing people down.
6times LFC HA! 😆 (He’s kidding. ⬆️)
True words indeed!👍❤
just watch the damn video and learn.. spare us your SJW shit
Ya! I agree.
Damn hippie.
This is the sort of content I want from TH-cam. Easy to follow, great narration, no plinky plonky muzak and a superb product at the end. Nice.
I really like the new trend on concrete lamps but I've never seen such a comprehensive description on how to do it thanks heaps
Thank you.
I usually hate DIY channels for lack of professional approach and often complicated but useless work, but this guy here is whole a different story, what he does is practical, modern and good looking.
Pretty nice, I like it when creators make things that are unique and don't copy other people, +1 Subscriber.
Thanks! :)

:) Thank you.Your welcome.
Thats pretty sweet! I love that you actually narrated the video instead of just adding text over the video like most people do
I would never have matched that voice with someone who is clearly a genius.
lol Thanks
what I absolutely love about this video is the fact that your instructions and how to's were clear and concise! alot of new DIY-SELFERS including me, have trouble understanding methods and materials from other videos, this is awesome work too!
Nicely made video. Concise and informative with no unnecessary crap like a lot of DIY videos.
Thank you
Thanks for NOT doing this with just boring music and no commentary....good job
I just made 24 of these with cement and black pigment. Hope mine turn out well. They're going to be the center pieces at my wedding
Your Wife will remember your doing this for her forever, Good for you and Congratulations from someone whose been there since Christmas Day 1976
I saw this on Facebook a few hours ago but the last half of the video was cut so I didn't get to see how it all came together. I'm glad I found it on TH-cam bcuz I really want to do this as a gift for a family member. Thanks!

Yep I agree. I am aware I simply forgot during the process. :)
Yeah I was thinking of doing something similar if I decide to do this. It looks cool though, I subbed.
Even wd-40 would work good!
Wow, it's so nice to see chocolate hands in work! Very impressed, you have my respect!
I never saw string lights before.
Super job, well explained, awesome video.
You earned a subscriber.
Awesome Thank you.

i like the concrete look its different and better vs. plastic or wood. l may make mines a bit larger though just because l have more space to cover and lite.
I'd prefer wood, but his was cool too.
Works really well for an industrial-themed decor. I like it.
he should painted the concrete black or white
If you put a slit down the PVC pipe before filling, you can reuse the form, I just use packing tape to keep it tight. Wipe the inside with vegetable oil before filling and it slides right out. Your lights are awesome!!
wow! very cool, man! great idea, video, narration, instruction, all around!! definitely on my 'build something' list!
With lots of love from here in Iran 🇮🇷
Dude! You could sell these for good money!
I was going to say the same thing! really cool project!
The Craft Hacker nope, that's where all the law suits from idiots and gold diggers come in place. Better make the money of youtube. he has 300k+ subscribers
grace S Right!!!!!!!!
u may not like it but noctanol is right, I can totally see a lawsuit cuz some idiot dropped it on his foot or something
grace S yeah, to me ! they are aweomse and im not doing all this shit.
well im impressed......no wonder you have x2 million views....you have earned them .........another great idea to add to my job list
Very nice. Could even add some dye to the concrete mix for additional color instead of the standard concrete look.
If its for indoors and you want a soft look, try inkjet refill ink. It provides a very rich soft colour. You could also try acrylic paint, add to the water prior to mixing. Coloured chalk added to the dry mix might look pretty good too.
Bounty B. Wolf I think concrete alone looks rustic and beautiful
I really dont think cement can be dyed. It's ground up rocks, not cake flour

Dude, I LOVE this idea!!!
I want to do it NOW!!!!
Thank you a lot!
Good job my brother you had my attention all the way to the end.
try spraying the PVC with a generous amount of cooking spray and the concrete should slide out just wait a few hours then slide it out let it dry completely
Nice idea, well presented, and now I'm going to have to build a dozen for our patio for my Wife as a surprise.
Thank you for sharing.
it turned out really nice
Finally another channel worth adding. Thumbs up!
Damn, these are pretty nice lights, dude. Im gonna take a shot at them.
Thanks! U gave us a easy, direct explanation! Congrats! Love it!👏👏👏👏
I think it would look even better if you frosted/sandblasted the glass a bit.. not completely, just enough to make it a little foggy. Came out awesome though, nice job

Man I love creative people lol! I wish I had the tools to make stuff like this :)
:D Thank you. There is many ways to do this, the tools I used only make it a faster. Many people have made it and share it with me on instagram. You can do it.
get creative...u don't have to use concrete. go to ur hardware store & look around, get inspired!!
What tools? A saw- a ruler, cement, wood, air dry clay. THINK OUTSIDE the BOX
Just take short cuts!
they turned out really cool....they would also be great outdoor night lights...I think I would just carry them around to what ever part of the house I was at...to cool to leave alone...great job...love your style
Humans are so creative and talented. I'm so jealous I was brought up and raised on Mars.
How I wish I had all the equipment you used! All I have is a mallet! Great project!
Fantastic bro...Another good build and another idea for my tool box!
Thank you.
Really like the lights. You gave good explanation on how to make each part. Thanks for sharing.

I love your creativity. Think I might make some of these but using the glass from old lanterns.
Absolutely STUNNING!!! Thanks for sharing, These are going to be my next project for sure!
Very cool, I'm going to try this with colored concrete and sand it as you did to expose the aggregate. Thanks for showing
you are very creative,
Love this idea! The concrete makes it SO modern!!
Damn, those are beautiful.
Andrew Williams ct
it's so satisfying to listen to your voice
Love your work. Keep em coming.
Great idea, well done!
Cheers from Tokyo Japan!
I'd add some foam padding to the bottom so it doesn't scratch your table. Anyway nice end result.
Ill be doing that soon, Thank you.
Even a few small blobs of hot glue work too.
Excellent DIY video. Very clear, well explained, and great results. Keep up the great work my man.
Looks really good. I wonder if putting something like vaseline on the inside of the pipe would allow it to be slipped off?
We used to use diesel fuel on our cylindrical forms. Vaseline would probably work great for a small lamp build.
A basic wiping of oil works too. In construction, we use form oil sprayed on. It can be rubbed off when the form is stripped away.
brush on a coat of household cooking oil. I've made planters and pots and oil the forms
D rB yup we use diesel fuel on wood if form oil isn't available, but I bet vegetable oil works. I bet spitting the pvc in strips and putting them back together with duct tape would make them reusable
cartmanrlsusall Duct tape good idea. You could strip the forms without breaking them that way.
That's a great project! In my book you ARE "The Professor"! Keep them video's comin'!! Thank you for the inspiration to create something new & different!! Peace Out.
Dude, that was bad ass.
Awesome work. Not something I would have thought of myself, but now I'm looking at how I can put a few of these together.
Thanks Tim.
Awesome! Great job definitely gonna try this sometime:)
Thank you. :)
Brilliant video. Well documented. Diresta in style, but still very, very good.
I love this I have a lot of those light did not know what to do with them, thank you
Your welcome
Very nice project. One tip. I would cut the PVC pipe all the way through and hot glue or wrap sturdy tape around it before filling with concrete. This would also make the mold reusable. Also, spray the insides with cooking spray for easy removal.
Very unique and beautiful. Great job. Very good instruction as well. Thank you for sharing your creation.

I cut steel for my art and I really like your chop saw table set up. Those lamps are so cool, not sure I have the skill set to make them! Amazing! You really should sell them on Etsy. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like people listened! You got a lot of likes. Great build. Cool concept and well produced.
Yep :) Thank you.
solid video
Thanks!
DIY Creators how'd you get into all of this? were you doing this stuff before you started your YT chan?
/ Yes I was making stuff around the house since 2012. Its all trial and error. I get a idea then I give it a shot.
DIY Creators was it first a hobby, though, or a profession or?
It's still my hobby. I do this after work and on the weekend.
Wow! What a clever idea! The design is so ambiguous that with minimal effort one could simply change the LED colors w remote or swap the light strand and decorate for any holiday! Except maybe Labor Day- I have no idea how that one would work... cover it with sweat pants or something? ha ;) Great tutorial!
Totally badass. Thank you and keep em coming!

You also could stain the concrete :)
That's true :)
Ugh- concrete is beautiful just the way it is!
Just subscribed & supported because of you & your concrete lamps. Your information delivery & video are clear, concise & well paced, slow enough to absorb the info without dragging, and interesting tips. Love that it's a modern style DIY!
