one built in weakness to the Batman secret identity is that SOMEONE has a lot of money to build/buy/invent great weapons and toys. This Bruce Wayne seems fairly poor, so one wonders if someone else is footing the bills. At least it saves him from having to live a sperate identity as a playboy to throw off the scent. Some of the "over-the-top-ness " in the art is due to a heavy Frank Miller influence (ahem).
All good observations. His funding is definitely a point that needs clarification. If he's supposed to be poor or working class, he shouldn't have access to the gadgets and resources depicted in the first two issue.
Again, I must say how much I appreciate your reviews and honesty and enthusiasm for the projects you like (I really tried to enjoy the Space Ghost and Jonny Quest comics you recommend, I did, but it just wasn't my thing) you don't jump on bandwagons, you speak your mind, and its appreciated in this digital world of comic book hype echo chambers - I sincerely cannot stand the pseudo hype by so many other YT comic reviewers around the Absolute line like the wheel was reinvented - Its a glorified Elseworld brand - people are so hype about the aesthetics of Absolute Batman and just won't outright admit the story and narrative execution is lacking, derivative of yesteryear Elseworld tales, and not engaging (Absolute Superman is young Superman with uncontrolled powers and an Iron Man type suit, Abosulte WW is OK, nothing to write home about) Absolute Batman is not awful, it's just mid - the artwork is the only thing working for it - besides the ultra-weaponized uniform, we've seen this before - I'm going to give it a 1 or 2 more issues to hook me, but right now, very unimpressed......
I thought the Batmobile reveal was savage AF. But i need to see what it can DO before I make a final decision on it. If its just a giant sonna a b@#@$ that steamrolls everything. LAME. But if it has multiple functions that are interesting and cool, then there you go. SO lets wait and see.
The questions that immediately come to mind: If Absolute Bruce is working class, how did he afford a multi-million dollar vehicle? How did he get a house-sized vehicle inside a skyscraper at the bottom of an elevator shaft? Where does he think he's going to store it without anyone noticing? Did he intend to kill the cops he ran over? A mover that size can only reach about 45 mph, so how does he think he can get away in a police chase? It's cool for a monster truck rally but silly within the context of the story when you think about it. Asking the reader to turn their brain off is always a tough sell.

@comicalopinions that's why we need things explained. You asked great questions. SOMEONE has to be funding him right?
