Derrick K was a beast in his prime and in dirty 30 he was still a beast
For real. Dirty 30 was the first season I ever watched on the Challenge and I really couldn't tell Derrick took 10 seasons off at that point. He played so tough and was in prime shape. Still is. I hope to see him back on the show soon. Thanks for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it!

Derrick is the peoples champ. I always rooted for him and he always got knocked out so close to the end. He would succeed more in today's games. Back then everyone was huge. Now theres quite a few smaller dudes

He was the original small guy that showed all the other small guys that the really big athletic dudes can be beat. Specially in physical challenges. Not every time but he is like one of them small pit-bulls he just latches on like a lil tank and drains you until your in quick sand and then he takes over.

He’s been at crossfit regionals in teams twice. Other than challenge he’s a well rounded athlete.
I saw a few images on Google when looking for research and saw he was at a tough mudder with Brad I think it was. I love these brief history lessons! I think it's awesome for new fans of the challenge to learn about some of the challenge OGs. Just a minor correction though... in Gauntlet II the reason that Derrick went into so many eliminations wasn't because his team hated him. It was the format of the season. Each team had two captains (one male and one female). If your team lost then the captain automatically had to go into elimination and the team would have to choose which person from their team to put in against the captain. Derrick was originally thrown in because the team was pissed at him and I forget who he went against but I remember that everyone was shocked when Derrick won and became the captain. But, by the end of the season, he had earned his team's respect and everyone was devastated when he lost the last elimination against Timmy. Even Timmy felt that he didn't deserve to win over Derrick (the elimination was the backwards tug of war and Timmy only won because he was so much bigger than Derrick). That was the season that really changed Derrick's persona in the challenge. Before then he was kind of a jerk and he drank way too much so no one had much respect for him.
You are correct about Derrick in Gauntlet 2. His rookie season I remember he drank a ton and everyone was annoyed with him with alot of the stuff he did. He did go on to gain the respect of his team and the audience in general. I think you for fact checking and correcting the video. That was my bad. Thank you for watching and commenting! Derrick vs Joss was like a rocky movie
You do know Gauntlet 2 they had male and female team captains right? The losing team would vote for another challenger to compete against the captain so other than when he defeated Adam L Derrick was required to be in the elimination round. Everyone else really liked Derrick as the game progressed and were so sad when he had to go into the final elimination.
Yeah I appreciate this dude’s video but some things he kinda skips over which are important details lol. It’s not like they wanted him to go elimination every single time because they didn’t like him, it’s because they HAD to when they lost. I remember in one of these videos this guy says in Cutthroat that it was CT & Jenn that was brought in as mercenaries but it was actually Tina not Jenn lol.

I haven't watched that season in a long time and was using different tools, references and clips from the show to get my facts straight. @@JayL8899 First of all I thank you for appreciating the videos. It means a lot. I would like to say I am still figuring out how to officially compose these Brief Histories. Like how much detail do I go into and what can I kind of just touch on. With it being "brief" history I try to give cliff notes. I am working on a more longer form of this concept where I delve deeper into the seasons and the Challenger as a whole. I haven't seen Gauntlet 2 in a long while so when looking into different research tools and references I thought I had the facts down. That's my bad for remembering wrong. And I know I mispoke when saying Jenn's name and I've been kicking myself for the longest after that. It was a egregious, it was erroneous and I'm always looking for ways to make these videos better either in presentation, editing and/or research. Thank you for watching and commenting! I started watching the Challenge on Dirty 30. But once I started I couldn't stop. The next three months, when waiting for new episodes and a season, I went back and binged everything. Going deep into the archives. I used a website that no longer has any working links to any of the challenge season except dirty 30 to war of the worlds 2. I tried looking up some seasons recently and I am in need to find a website. I binged watched a lot of the seasons a while back but I also do some research on different articles and other sites to refresh the memory of older seasons. How long have you been watching the challenge and how many seasons have you seen? What was your first season? I love knowing these things! Thanks for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it!
My first season was rivals 3 when bananas stole the money from Sara. I definitely loving seeing the veterans and would love to see older season since I love the idea of the show lasted for so long. I have seen clips but I definitely Anna find older ones. I for sure would pay for them because I love the challenge. I even love watching old seasons of real world And I never got to see the full of season. 30. Which I hate.

Derrick was always one of the bests and one of my favorites. However the 2 things that always upset me when i think about Derrick are these 2 things.
1) That although he won 3 times i hate that all 3 of his victories were all connectrd to Kenny. They both only won when they were on a team together and having to be associated with Kenny like that sucks bc Kenny was always an annoying arrogant prick.
2) That he never had the chance to compete on Rivals 1 or Rivals 2 with Landon. Granted they didn't have a huge rivalry but on Inferno 2 they wrestled pretty good and there was blood involved, plus Derrick ruined Landons hair resulting in Landon having to do a skullhawk, so they defintely had grounds to become a team and i always just wish it happened bc if they had the chance to compete as a team on either of those seasons, they had the influence to totally change the whole dynamic of each season, plus they would have been a top team for sure.

Always been a big fan of Derrick, being a short guy myself alot of people count you out so I got to root for little man Tate, just like in hustle and flow It's not the size of the dog in the fight It's the size of the fight in the dog and I know it's a mark Twain quote but I still liked it better in the movie.

I agree. He always gives 110% or ever 135%. He's also stacked and I never count him out against anyone he's up against. I still get goosebumps when watching the Crazy 8 Derrick v Joss elimination.
