I think George was the underrated Beatle. His songs that he wrote with the group are some of my favorites ("Taxman", "Within You Without You", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun" & "Something"). He was a great songwriter & had many hits when he went solo. Also love when he was part of the supergroup "The Traveling Wilburys" with Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan & Tom Petty. Hi guys! So glad to see you doing George Harrison. He was my favorite of the "fab four" and was actually called "the quiet Beatle." He produced the magical guitar sound of the Beatles and his solo stuff was great too, also this from the Travelling Wilburys (w/ George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dylan). Could you also please do his song "All Things Must Pass." It's so beautiful.

It’s funny how he got the “quiet Beatle” label. It seems when the Beatles first came to America he was sick so didn’t talk much, hence he was called the quiet Beatle. He was very spiritual and had a great sense of humor, cracking jokes all the time. He was my favorite

@@richardbremner1284 On top of that he wasn’t getting any respect from Lennon and McCartney in the recording studio. Until the day he walked in with Eric Clapton to play lead on While My Guitar Gently Weeps., that is. He took a trip to India to learn from the Maharishi, he read the IChing, which told him to write what he saw. So he was in the desert and he wrote Here Comes the Sun.. those are the reasons I would call him a very spiritual person. A very good soul.

George Harrison was under utilized in the group, he didn't want to be (the quiet beatle), he had songs, but Paul and John just didn't give them enough consideration and so their songs were the the ones that monopolized every album. George was also called the "Dark Horse" which is the title of one of his songs, it's pretty cool. I love, "What Is Life", but even more I love, "Give Me Love", it's just a meaningful, beautiful song. Great one guys, boy you two are on a George and Beatles roll lately and I'm not complaining. This song was originally recorded by James Ray in 1962 and George bought a copy of the single in 1963 when he was 20 while visiting his sister Louise in Illinois. Beatlemania exploded in 1963 that year in England. He was probably glad to escape it for a little bit. Years later when he was writing his "Cloud Nine" Lp he remembered the song and recorded it. The song was released as a single and hit #1 in January, 1988 on the Billboard Top 100 here in the States. See, you two just got a little George Harrison history lesson here. Yes, George was known as the quiet Beatle but he wasn't, he was just polite, soft-spoken and straight to the point. Although the youngest band member he always struck me as maybe the most mature. George was so damn cool ! Him and John were always my favorites. Lennon was one of those all time characters, highly intelligent, extremely witty and funny as hell. He could also be a big time smartass when pushed, the man was hilarious. I miss them both dearly, I really do. A couple of more great #1 hits by George are "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)" a great vibe lovely song and "Cracker Box Palace" which I love. A little bit of a humorous song about his journey through life from birth to adult life, a very thoughtful witty catchy song. I know I bug you two with this one a little bit I would love too see you guys redo his Beatles classic "Here Comes The Sun" 2019 50th anniversary remix with video from "Abbey Road" You really don't know what you're missing. Even with all of the wonderful Lennon/McCartney songs this one is the most streamed Beatles song on Spotify with close to 300 million streams currently. That alone should merit a redo. Oh well, I can always dream can't I ? Maybe one day. 👌☮️✌️💕

Thus in 1962 when the song was done, at lot of pop artists were using the "three chord wonder" chords, but yet the chorus on the chorus more chords than the typical three.

Also check out "Fab" - it's a song about his time in The Beatles, and Ringo makes a guest appearance in the Video. Also the Beatles song "Something" which was written and sung by Harrison himself. Great video to that featuring all four members with their partners at the time.
Also, as you are checking out George Harrison you should check out some Travelling Wilburys songs too - this was the super group featuring George, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison - every single one of those artists is a rabbit hole in themselves to get lost in

This song has an old time 1950s, sort of "Buddy Holley" quality to it. I can almost hear Buddy singing in George's voice.

If you look up the MTV music video that went with this, you see George’s crazy sense of humor. He often collaborated with some of the Monty python comedy folks so their movies often had George Harrison credits. He did a lot of stuff that maybe wasn’t self promoting but more focus on the music. Check out the all star band The a traveling Wilburys who was a music group with all legends that didn’t focus on their star power but on the music. The band was Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Zorbison and Tom Petty who were active in the 1980s

If you watch the video for The Travelling Wilburys End of the line then you’ll see a rocking chair with a guitar and a photograph of Roy Orbison when his verse comes on as he’d died before the video came out

George Harrison did a “music video” for an episode of Saturday Night Live in 1976, quite a few years before Mtv. The song is ‘Crackerbox Palace’. Would be a great reaction.

George Harrison gets overlooked in the huge shadows of (the late) John Lennon and Paul McCartney, but his skills as a lead guitarist and songwriting deserves recognition. Ringo Starr (drums) was the last member; he wasn't a prolific songwriter like the other 3... but his beats and rhythm were essential to The Beatles' sound & success.

Yes, George Harrison was known as "the quiet" Beatle. He let John Lennon and Paul McCartney have more of the limelight. George was a great songwriter and the more spiritual one. He had a great solo career. Check out the 1st Beatles movie, "Hard Days Night". He was so funny with his dry English humor! George was always my favorite Beatle too!!

George was the 1st of the former Beatles to have a #1 song (My Sweet Lord), and he was the last former Beatle to have a #1 song (the one you're reacting to now).

Cover of a tune the original recording of which had dropped before the advent of Beatlemania, believe it or not. Having been up to not much in the '80s, this and the album that spawned it were George's "I'm back!" statement. Two versions of the official video for it were released and are worth a look.

I'M HAPPY JUST TO DANCE WITH YOU, I WANT TO TELL YOU, IF I NEEDED SOMEONE, I NEED YOU...4 of my most favorite Beatles songs, all written by George Harrison! Those were long b4 TAXMAN or SOMETHING but they touched me&my teenage soul, way back then. He was always lurking in the background, ready to pounce.

I think George was forced into "the quiet one" label because John and Paul wrote as a pair and obviously created great stuff. George had a difficult time being heard but luckily it happened eventually. His solo stuff is great as are the songs he wrote for The Beatles like Here Comes the Sun and Something. Very underrated. Don't take it personally that we all flipped because you didn't know who he was 😂.

You could check out the “Fifth Beatle” Billy Preston. The record companies back in the 60’s unfortunately wouldn’t allow him to be an official Beatle due to his skin color, even though the band wanted him in. Sign of the times I guess😔

A good choice of artist to react to! As others seem to have eluded to, he was very subdued in his personality, but what a great contribution he made to music both as a band member, and as a solo artist. I have a favourite song that you might want to react to - 'Cheer Down' from the film soundtrack of Lethal Weapon II, with Mel Gibson, Danny Glover and Patsy Kensit. It was featured at the beginning of the film's "outdo credits". Keep up the good work! Thanks T (UK based)

George was The Beatles lead guitarist. That's him on lead on every song. Every song. "Set On You" is a 50s song that George covered in the late 80s
