This was so extremely helpful. I've fallen in love completely with baby center. As a new young mom there's so many things that I just had no clue about like the latch in cars and the base in car seats and the difference between converting car seats etc. so this is great!

Olivia was a great demonstrator and so cute.
He was soo good explaining it. We need more Police officers doing this as part of their duties. My first child we went to the police station and they help us. She’s 12 now, my second she’s 3 and when we went to the police station for assistance they told us they are not allowed to assist with car seat installation.☹️
He was so helpful! I was the one in the video and after filming they helped me install all of my car seats correctly. I’m sorry that the police station couldn’t help. We filmed this at the sheriffs office maybe they have different rules .

Well im about to be a single father of twins so this is intimidating for me to be honest. I'm not concerned about money or care for them, their grammas gonna be their babysitter when needed but these small details scare the life out of me 😭😂🤷🏿♂️. I'm actually about to shop for car seats. I don't even know if they sell the base with the car seat or separate? Does anybody know. I have a 20018 Nissan and a 2001 for work but on the 2001 I'm not sure I know where the latches are, he said cars after 2000 should have them but I kinda noticed one on each side..ain't it supposed to be two latches. Y'all pray for me 😭.

I don’t have this exact same car seat but after seeing that the anchor strap need to be pulled straight up I ran mine back through the side loop it was running down though and when I pulled it straight up it tightened for me. Thank you brother this video helped me out.

Thank you. Great video my wife and I are getting ready to have our first. Having trouble trying to decide on seat placement. Seems like middle is best. My car is a 2010 Corolla I have located the latch system on the lh and rh sides but not the middle. I'll look again tho. Thank you so much
Yes the middle is the safest place for the baby to be. We have our only baby on the middle.

@@jayvardy yes, he was born on Halloween at 2:50pm. 6 lbs 11oz and 20inches long. Healthy, super cute, barely ever cries, passed his hearing test on the second go around which was a few hours ago actually. Smiles in his sleep.. the boy was able to lift his own head up and held it up for a few seconds half a day old.. he's a strong boy lol.
Congratulations! Halloween was my due date. He actually came 2 days before that. Newborns are amazing, aren't they?

The thing that drives me crazy about these infant seats is why they don't have any straps to secure them to the seat in front of them. The setup they have using the latch system does not prevent them from moving side to side. In a side impact it seems like that'd get whiplash which can be fatal for infants. Straps to secure the base to both the front and back seats would prevent this.
Question hope I can get an answer.
After he used the latch system I didn't see him put on the regular car belt is that how is supposed to be? Or do both the latch and the belt?
