Bravo on the Maxine, looks absolutely perfect. A little tip on knitting turtle necks or fold over necks, once the foldover height has reached go up a needle size for the remainder, it'll stop the length from creeping up towards the jaw. If it keeps creeping up, a couple of stay stitches around the neckline will keep it in place. The only drawback with superwash wool is that it 'grows and grows' adding anywhere from 5 - 10cm in length. I always knit my superwash garments smaller than intended, cause it will grow in size.
thank you so much for all this advice and good tips! I'll definitely keep it in mind in the future! I feel like I always have so much to learn with every project and it's amazing :))
This colour combination is absolutely gorgeous!! I'm a beginner knitter so nowhere near being able to knit this but I can't wait to knit this when I'm able!!
I'm not too sure if there's any videos out there but Laura describes it really beautifully in the pattern so if you were thinking about the maxine I'd definitely recommend getting the pattern when it comes out!
Stunning job!!!! ❤ I have only ever made a colorwork hat, and didn't like the fit. But I have found a colorwork sweater I can't pass on and hope to make it this year.
@hayleys_space it's a free pattern on the filcolanna website using two different Anina colors and 4 different mohair, and it changes the colorwork yoke is done by changes in the mohair. It's stunning! It's on their website
Moth attack is a knitters horror. I understand your distress. I think I would have also put the sweater in the freezer but I do often over react. The sweater is beautiful and the colors are dreamy.
How can you knitt a sweater that fast😂.. I am impressed! And it looks so good👏👌👍🏽… now I have to finish my sweater , it has been on the needle for sooo long 😢. Greatest regard’s from the cold weather in switzerland 🇨🇭
videos can definitely be deceiving! this one took me a couple of months to knit up, but everyone knits at different speeds and things as well! what sweater do you have on the needles? I hope you get to finish it and enjoy it this winter!
sweater looks lovely. PS Fair Isle- off the Scottish mainland; island situated between Orkney and main cluster of Shetland islands. The number of strands used in colour work doesn't mean it's Fair Isle, Fair Isle is distinguished by the design.
thank you so much for this information! I feel like knitting terms get thrown out everywhere all the time and I never really know the difference, but now I do! thank you :))
Your Maxine is beautiful. If yarn is Super Wash, it must be stated. Bendigo woollen Mills yarn has a different process. It softens beautifully with blocking and you can add a little hair conditioner to the rinse if you want it softer ❤
I had a thought as you described the rearrangement of stitches for a tubular bind off. Can you switch direction and do this so the leaning stitches are inside?
I didn’t do anything at all to prevent colour bleeding! to be completely honest it didn’t even cross my mind until I saw your comment! this yarn is fantastic and I guess from my experience I can say it doesn’t bleed!

Your maxine sweater looks fantastic on you, fit and colours.
Stunning job!!!! ❤ I have only ever made a colorwork hat, and didn't like the fit. But I have found a colorwork sweater I can't pass on and hope to make it this year.
thank you!! which pattern are you going to knit up?? I’m always on the lookout for more colourwork sweaters to add to my to-knit list 😂

I was so unsure as to what to do! (and my freezer was already full haha) I think it did solve the problem though

omg thank you for this information! it can be so tricky with all the different terminology so that’s awesome to know thank you!
I had a thought as you described the rearrangement of stitches for a tubular bind off. Can you switch direction and do this so the leaning stitches are inside?
I would have to try it out to see if it works!
Your sweater came out beautiful!
How did you keep the colors from bleeding, especially the burgandy yarn?
I didn’t do anything at all to prevent colour bleeding! to be completely honest it didn’t even cross my mind until I saw your comment! this yarn is fantastic and I guess from my experience I can say it doesn’t bleed!
Your Maxine is beautiful 🤩
Your Maxine is absolutely gorgeous! All of your FOs are always amazing. I enjoy your podcast.
😢 sorry about the moth… sometimes they just appear.
it’s like they appear out of nowhere!! 🥺
Moths are everywhere. All yarn and wool needs to be sealed up in plastic bags or containers.
You definitely need to freeze your sweater if it’s if they laid eggs on that yarn, the eggs are in the sweater. Sorry to say.
