In this episode i will show you how to add your KNX devices in Home Assistant!
Home Assistant is an open source home automation platform. It supports many smart devices and of course KNX.
For this tutorial you will need :
1) a KNX IP Interface or Router
2) a Raspberry Pi
3) An SD Card at least 32 GB

Looks cool, ty. I'm planning to integrate my KNX modules to Home Assistant soon. One question though. I'd like to use a laptop instead of RPi. Is it possible to integrate KNX to Home Assistant Container or do I need to have Home Assistant Supervised?

Great video! I've tried to run HA on different RPi's and with different SD cards but it always runs slow and crashes often. Ordered another new SD card and a new power supply.
I hope it works this time so I can finally get my KNX devices in HA! Your tutorial will help!
The same hapened to me, then i change to an usb of 32 gb and all problems go away

We didn't face any problem so far. We have tried HA in several Raspberries Pi 3B and we are using SD Cards from Sandisk.
Hi, thanks for this great video. I'm following these steps to go to the next level with my home automation project. The core of my house is KNX. 2 questions I had:
1) I didn't get why there are different group addresses for the switches... Are these power plugs?
2) Where do I find the IP address of my KNX IP interface?

1) These are the Group Addresses from ETS. From more details check this video : th-cam.com/video/WxD8TScEAP4/w-d-xo.html
2) From ETS5 you will be able to find the IP address of the KNX IP interface. Otherwise you could use an IP Network scanner like Advanced IP Scanner.
Is it possible to ad Philips Hue lights in the config to be able to control? I ha e a older Master Link Gateway from Bang&olufsen. It has not support for Philips Hue natively but it has support for KNX. And I have Home Assistant running as well.
Home Assistant can auto discover Philips Hue so it is very easy to add them in Home Assistant.

If you mean to use 1Home as KNX IP interface and then make a visualisation for your KNX installation in Home Assistant then the answer is Yes!

Hi, if you use Phillips hue, do you still need a switch aktuator for lights in order to set the individual adresses? Thx
The group addresses are required in order to integrate KNX in Home Assistant. Philips Hue are auto discovered in Home Assistant so there is no need to edit the yaml file.

Congrats, excelent. I´d just like to know, if i wanted to connect to apple home kit how would i do ? I only install home kit in home assistant ?
Go to Settings --> Devices and Services and configure HomeKit! Maybe we have to make a video about it!
I have two knx interfaces. one for my home and one for my workplace each with a different ip address. Can I combine there into one homeassitant setup?
I don't have an answer for that. I will have to try it first.

I have followed your wonderful video until I reached the restart of server. I got a message”connection lost.restarting” after few seconds homeassistant war restarted but when I pressed the overview button, nothing was displayed, although I had yalm file for lights

Do you have a timelag between switching the light in HA and the light go on in real? Did you have complex scene's which you switch over HA? Here any timelags?

Λατρευω τα βιντεο απο οταν μου βγηκε ενα office network setup και θελω απο τοτε να ρωτησω σχετικα με την αλλαγη router γιατι θελω να κανω host στον παλιο μου υπολογιστη αλλα με προβληματιζει η αξιοπιστια του router απο τον isp οταν βρισκονται ολοι στο σπιτι . Επισης το router χειριζεται και το τηλεφωνο υπαρχει κατι που πρεπει να προσεξω ή καποιο recommendation ;
Εμείς αυτό που κάνουμε συνήθως είναι να αφήνουμε το modem του ISP για το Internet και την Τηλεφωνία αλλά και για να είναι εύκολη η βλαβοληψία, (δηλαδή σε περίπτωση βλάβης βγαίνει άκρη μόνο όταν υπάρχει το modem του ISP!!!) και μετά χρησιμοποιούμε ένα Router που όπως έχεις δει από τα video μας είναι συνήθως UniFi χρησιμοποιώντας PPPoE pass through για να αποφύγουμε το double nat (διπλά port forward κτλ).

I used the raspberry to install Home Assistant. The raspberry will act as a server for the KNX installation.

Hi. Do you know something about possibility to use home assistnat with knx integration and voice control from google? It could be the cheapest way to use it together.
Google Assistant is supported by Home Assistant : www.home-assistant.io/integrations/google_assistant/

Would it be possible to interface your Raspberry Pi directly to the KNX network without a KNX IP Interface or Router?

Ti raspberry πρεπει να το βαλω μαζι με το IP Router μεσα στον πινακα; Δεν εχω μεγαλο πινακα αλλα εχω 1-2 σημεια που εχω εξοδο ΚΝΧ καλωδιο. Μηπως μπορουσα να το βαλω εκει;
Και δεν εχω καταλαβει πως συνδεεις το rasberry me to IP Router
Το Raspberry δεν χρειάζεται να είναι μέσα στον πίνακα το συνδέεις απλά στο τοπικό σου δίκτυο με ένα καλώδιο UTP. π.χ. σε ένα Switch ή απ'ευθείας στο Router σου. Οπότε το Raspberry και το KNX IP Interface/Router συνδέονται μεταξύ τους μέσω δικτύου.
Εγω εχω ηδη στο σπιτι μου το IP Router της MDT. Οποτε δεν χρειαζομαι ακομα

@@gbmwp πολύ σωστά! Δεν χρειάζεσαι κάτι άλλο.
Θα έχεις προβλήματα με το PI, αν θες να ασχοληθεις κάνε το Setup σε nuke.
