    I adore my Yamaha BB735a! I call it my "monster of the deep" because it's got such an amazing deep bass tone that envelops you like a warm hug. I was able to set its action nice and low without any fret buzz, so it's really easy to play. I'm never getting rid of this bass!

    I own a single cut BTB846, and the thing is a pure monstrosity. It doesn't have as big of a bass boom as my Warwick, but the overall grit and tone is just amazing, especially when downtuned. In normal tuning, the tonal characteristics are surprisingly warm with that "Ibanez crisp" treble.

    I enjoy these collection series videos. Moving forward, how about doing complete pedal boards within an established budget? Every pedal board in each budget range should at minimum have a Tuner, compressor and a preamp/DI. Need to include cost of pedal board, cables and power supply. I think this could be very interesting and help bass players that are contemplating building their own pedal board.

    I recently bought an Aria Pro ll 313 MK-2 Detroit and though it required a little nut work, is unbelievable for around 5 bills. Super tight build, great balance and weight, and really has an authoritative bark. I've had it for a few months now and it's just as good, if not as fancy, as anything I've played, but gets many extra points for being a unique Fender alternative with much more to offer. A more articulate p/j with 24 frets and that Aria Pro ll SB style body hangs perfect. Roasted, light satin finish, not a sharp edge on it. Really simple and solid. The neck has been a rock even in my drafty Northern Minnesota apartment.

    1k two 4 String basses: Definetly one Ibanez Soundgear bass, the neck is for me still one of the best for playing fast stuff. And one from Yamaha in a PJ Configuration. Both companies have absolut solid and good quality. Better than some Fender high price basses. Regarding the price the Fender quality control is a shame! My second hand perci is okay. What would I get for a Thousand Bucks ?
    Marcus Miller M7 5 String
    Harley Benton HB-60
    Epiphone EB-3
    I got the Harley Benton Beat Bass specifically get that early ‘thonk’ Macca tone.
    While rather liking the tone with the bundled roundwounds, I went and put Pyramid flats on it as intended.
    A month later I put the rounds back on.
    Much nicer sound to my ear.
    I MAY at some point put some flats on my P or J, or I may just put some damping foam under the rounds as required.
    The HB Ukulele bass IS great fun.
    I may have to reset the nut on mine because the open string tunings don’t match the fretted notes.
    The nut on mine is leaning forward a little.
    I got a Marcus Miller V7 years ago, 2017. It’s Great.
    My goto bass is my Modulus Q5, she covers most ground.
    The rest are for funzies

    Just tried an ibanez btb 845 and it was awesome, but since I initially thought I would need the multi scale btb in order to play prog/djent and tune down to G or F#, I was wondering if this 35" btb 845 could do the job? And in the same time, be more versatile for other genres (easier to play high chords etc).. What do you guys think?

    • @EnergyChasms
      @EnergyChasms ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For G or F# on a 35" I would recommend using significantly thicker strings, which may require filing the nut. However, I personally much prefer a 37" for keeping those low tunings extra tight, as I don't particularly like strings thicker than .145
      You could also go the Meshuggah route, and tune your E string to F, keeping your B string, or even giving yourself a low A.
      There's also the digitech drop, which is a great pedal and plenty of touring bassists in the djent/metalcore scene use it.

    • @julien.biardeau
      @julien.biardeau ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EnergyChasms Thx a lot for your answer!
      Yeah I'm not sure to be down for really thick strings.. I think it's a matter of how comfortable I am on a multi scale then, but they're impossible to find in shops here in France! So maybe it will end up as a mix of 35", a bit thicker strings and a drop pedal.. Oh well x)

    • @EnergyChasms
      @EnergyChasms ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@julien.biardeau Good luck! The drop pedal is less fun than a new bass, but it can be a money/life saver, and if you set everything up correctly, it will sound incredible!
