  • In this video I'll be comparing my girlfriend's Nintendo Switch Lite to My OLED Nintendo Switch. I love both of these models! I would say go with the one that suits you best. If you only want a handheld console and want to save money, go with the Lite! But if you would like to connect the switch to your tv and don't care about spending a little more, go with the OLED! Comment bellow which one you have or want to get! Don't forget to like and subscribe :)

I have the standard Switch but Switch Oled is definitely more preferable by most people since it has dock mode and joy cons and it’s a choice if you want play handheld or not! It even has Bluetooth with audio to listen to with headphones.

My turquoise Switch Lite had an issue with the left analog stick yesterday not being able to move right. It can still right but the pointer in the calibration screen would go back to the middle. First noticed it yesterday morning while playing MK8 Deluxe using Lemmy on Bell Cup. Didn't think much about it initially and then played it again a few hours later. I couldn't turn right correctly. Would lose the first race I'd usually win.
Calibrated it multiple times and used the rubbing alcohol with Q-tips method. Didn't work. I've owned every Nintendo console from NES to Wii + Game Boy, GBA SP, and DS Lite. Other than the toaster NES where we used to blow into the cartridge or game slot, Nintendo products rarely fail on me like this after 35 years owning them until yesterday after 7 months of flawless usage Not even a single controller has ever failed on me after years of using them.
Got it for only $90 which came with BOTW amd carrying case and it worked perfectly for 7 months and still looks new. I sold it yesterday on OfferUp for $110. Should've got the Switch OLED because you can always replace the Joy-Cons. But I really don't want to carry that device around. The great thing about the Switch OLED is that screen, longer battery life, and kickstand. Can accept more third-party Bluetooth controllers too.
I may just wait for the next Switch since I expect it will be 100% backwards compatible. Will re-download all my games onto that one. No wonder I'm a bigger PlayStation fan. My Vita slim which I've owned for 6 years is back being my all-time favorite handheld. It's back being my GOAT. More dependable. Had some crashes here and there after modding it but downloaded a plug-in and it's fine ever since. It's in slightly worse condition when I first got it than the Switch Lite but still looks better than it.
Adrenaline to run PSP and PS1 games was crashing constantly that I had to keep powering it down by pressing the power button for 30 seconds which got annoying. Added the plug-in to fix the two-touch crash and it's back being fine. No issues with the analog sticks or d-pad. The d-pad is way better than on the Switch Lite. And battery is at 94% health which is unbelievable if that's accurate considering the 2K model came out 10 years ago.
I guess I'll be in the market for a new handheld. I'm deliberating between Steam Deck, Ally ROG, GPD Win 4, and GPD Win Max 2. I'll just emulate the Wii U version of Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World. Don't need to re-buy since I hear Wii U emulation is very good on the Deck. It's starting to look like the Steam Deck for me. Best value. Great online community support. Best ecosystem. Or maybe I'll only get handhelds with hall effect sensors.
There's also a possibility I may NOT get the successor to the Switch and just leave my digital games there without retrieving them again by newer hardware. To tell you the truth, I really haven't been a big Nintendo fan since the Super Nintendo. I know I've owned 9 Nintendo systems but PlayStation has always been more of my platform. I'm not in awe from any of the Nintendo franchises. I didn't even think the new Super Mario Bros. movie was any good. It was just OK.
If I want to play newer Nintendo games, I'll just wait years to emulate them. I have this love and hate relationship with them like Apple. That Switch Lite was the first Nintendo product I bought in 15 years and I only got exactly 7 months usage from it. Very disappointed. None of my Sony PlayStations ever failed except the the 1001 model that needed to be flipped upside down to work. My PSP phat and Vita slim has never ever given me hardware failure like that.
    PS Vita (2000 model)
    Design: 9/10
    Durability: 9/10
    Switch Lite
    Design: 8/10
    Durability: 5/10
Nintendo systems mostly rate a 9/10 in durability. Super NES, Nintendo 64, and GameCube were all tanks. I don't know what happened but the Switch Lite really let me down in that area. I see tons on OfferUp selling for $100 or less. I bet many of them have unmentioned analog sticks issues.
    Sony > Nintendo
    Sega > Nintendo
    Always for me.
    PS Vita = PlayStation Life
    PlayStation 4 life.
I wish Sony and Sega released another true handheld. Sega to me was always more innovative even if it became their downfall by taking too many risks and confusing consumers. I'm going to be anti-Nintendo again and stick to companies I like more.
I'm not a total hater because Nintendo raised me. But I just can't go back to a company who overcharges their first-party games and used to bully third-party developers with their monopolistic ways. Nintendo already pissed off a lot of kids in 1993 when they refused to put the blood in Mortal Kombat. They bully TH-camrs.

What i take from this is you bought a used Lite for 90 including botw and a case. Considering botw can be sold for at least 30, you hardly paid 50 for the console and you wonder why it broke in 7 months of use? That's on you for being cheap

Switch lite is a good system, do wish for some improvements but its a decent alternative if dont want buy something cheaper. One thing if thimbstick drifts you have to exhange it if covered under warrenty or buy new oen all together. Why a oled or regular might be better since you just buy new joycon or joycon alternative
