I don't buy upgrade kits, but they are definitely way too expensive. For what you get in most, it should be like, idk, $20 at the very, very most? For most kits, you don't get enough of _anything_ to warrant like, $50 or something.
I really dug the Siege leader class version, but he really needs his own thing. Unless they can figure out a killer tank mode I’d love to see him as something new.

I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know the background behind that Autobot symbol on Shockwave's arm - but it kinda gives me the impression that he dismantled an Autobot and used their parts to repair himself, which is both metal as hell and oddly fitting for Shockwave.
There's no in-universe background behind it lol. He takes part in a relatively small scene taking place on Cybertron that was added into the movie last minute. So a lot of the characters in that scene are designed out of Optimus Prime's cg model for simplicity's sake and efficiency, since it was so last minute. That's why he's got Optimus Prime's spine detail, feet, forearms, etc. the Autobot symbols on the forearms are just a leftover from Optimus' cg model that they either forgot to remove, or decided it was a small enough detail that nobody would see it and wouldn't be worth removing It does imply some interesting in-universe lore though, gets the brain gears turning. Shockwave in Transformers Animated had a disguise as an Autobot to spy and I think that's the headcanon backstory I'm gonna use for this guy to explain the symbols

But, there actually isn't any in-lore explanation in the movie on why Shockwave has a Autobot logo on his arm. BTS, it might be because his model reuses parts from other characters, such as Optimus. But, if you wanted to headcanon a reason, then maybe he has it because of his Senator days? Idk. I only know that he was a Senator in IDW, I don't actually _know_ know.
I absolutely adore this thing, he's so cool looking. I'm glad to actually have him. That being said the lack of bicep is kinda infuriating when he's essentially got two wrist swivels and two thigh swivels. They could've like shifted the port or something i dunno
It is strange that he doesn't have a Bicep swivel, because the core had it. Both bicep and forearm, plus the arm rotated and just tabs into the back of the shoulder to secure the arm. Idk why they didn't decide to just upscale all of it frkm the core figure, it's so odd.

If Legacy ever modernizes Prime Shockwave, *they better retool parts of this mold.* Of course the head, cannon, and many other parts will get new molds. *But the build and conversion is perfect!!!!!*
Definitely going to be picking this guy up - already liked the core, this is basically just that figure upscaled with much nicer detailing, and it fixed the one issue I had with the core - which was how in tank mode the head was just looking backwards from the turret.
They should have put the budget they used on the lower thigh swivel on the biceps. I have him right now so if they make a upgrade with proper arms. IM GETTING IT
Funnily enough Generations Warpath from way back when actually kind of had a solution to this problem. It had no bicep swivel where you expect it to but it does have a mushroom peg at the elbow joint, meaning you can move the arm out like a traditional bicep swivel and it still looks pretty alright.

So, no big deal, really.

I just got Studio Series Bayverse Shockwave and he is one of the sickest transformers ever. This Bumblebee version does not spark any feelings like that for me.

Loved this design when we got the mini figure. As a prime fan, i really liked their nods to it. My voyager is coming Monday, so I'm so excited to have it in hand.
I'm not a fan of the song, but that core to Voyager is a good transition. In addition, I'm glad it is voyager most like voyager prime beast hunters shockwave if that sold today leave to hasbro to toss in accessories and call it leader. That's the best thing about this it's got 2 accessories that are parts of this the hose and blaster. With soundwave I gotta get this.

He reminded of the Prime version alot for sure. Which Optimus does he share parts with? Also despite having him for weeks now you showed me something I didn't know, that the gun extends, I somehow missed that on the instructions, I do like that you don't have to tuck the left hand away for the gun arm if you don't want to, as it fits in the space that is left empty when you do. I wish the Optimus Prime from the Bumblebee movie was this big.
I just picked him up today from Target and god he feels and looks so damn good. And besides, it’s Shockwave, he’s not pulling off anything super dynamic anyway
I really wanted to like this, but that lack of bicep swivel, just, it feels like someone just punched me in the throat. It's almost perfect, and there could of been a few easy alternatives that would have instantly solved the problem.
I guess stabilty might be the reason for the lack of bicep but couldn't they have added a compromise like a reverse butterfly joint? That could've worked in place of a bicep swivel.

Some Chad in Instagram modified the bicep swivels using the useless knee swivels. I think that's a Big IQ move, right there 🗿🗿🗿

Given that Evolution Javelin proved they can reuse BBM designs with Hasbro-designed alt-modes, I can see that happening.

The fold down feet in the front bothers me in alt mode. Wish they figured out how to smooth that out a bit.

The bicep swivel should have cut that peg slot in half. It would still be able to peg in, while also locking the bicep swivel in the process

I have the big Yolopark model kit and hands down one of my favorite Shockwave designs.

Actually there is an Upgrade kit out there that gives Shockwave bicep swivels and poseable hands if you're interested in that Toy Guy.

He reminded of the Prime version alot for sure. Which Optimus does he share parts with? Also despite having him for weeks now you showed me something I didn't know, that the gun extends, I somehow missed that on the instructions, I do like that you don't have to tuck the left hand away for the gun arm if you don't want to, as it fits in the space that is left empty when you do. I wish the Optimus Prime from the Bumblebee movie was this big.
You could also say the autobot symbol is a reference to IDW Shockwave because he was an Autobot Senator before the was Empurata’d and joined Megatron.
I just picked him up today from Target and god he feels and looks so damn good. And besides, it’s Shockwave, he’s not pulling off anything super dynamic anyway

I really wanted to like this, but that lack of bicep swivel, just, it feels like someone just punched me in the throat. It's almost perfect, and there could of been a few easy alternatives that would have instantly solved the problem.

Why does he have autobot logos on arms? I didnt understand, is it a reference to something or a mistake from cgi model?
His CGI model was made by modifying assets from Optimus. He's still got a tiny Autobot symbol on his arm in the movie.
I guess stabilty might be the reason for the lack of bicep but couldn't they have added a compromise like a reverse butterfly joint? That could've worked in place of a bicep swivel.
Shockwave is the only character who can lack bicep swivels and yet still hit the hardest of poses 😭
