The Studio Series Bumblebee movie toyline has to be my favorite Transformers toyline ever. I absolutely love these figures. Pretty much all the figures released from 2022ish - now have all been exceptional figures with maybe a few nitpicks here or there.
Honestly, although I hate that we're getting concept art figures instead of finishing the Bay characters, this guy was a pleasant surprise in hand. I hated the initial leaks but after buying it, the transformation is really fun, the articulation is surprisingly great and honestly it doesnt look as overwhelmingly yellow as the original leaks showed. If only they put this much effort into characters that actually mattered...
@HardHeadtfreviews2008 They have so many Bay concept art or Bay repaints/2.0s they could be doing, it's not about running out of characters. We still haven't had a great trilogy Prime, the first release was a little wonky and the second release has compromised legs. The obsession with BBM needs to slow down
@@kinjapleb4228 While I am enjoying the Bumblebee movie SS figures (for the most part anyways; Soundwave needed some more work done for him, and Cybertron Cliffjumper and Bee aren’t really that good) I do agree that there should be a better balance of Bayverse and reboot stuff, especially with the introduction of the Concept subline. However we could be slowing down on some things for BB stuff since there are limited characters in that film. The most I mainly expect now are Cybertronian form figures for Optimus, Shatter, Dropkick, Sideswipe, and how many other mini-cons they had for Soundwave. I’m sure there’s a few others that we don’t know of, but those are the main ones I can think of. And while I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of some of the Bayverse stuff, there’s definitely some concept art I want to see figures based on. The DOTM Warpath is an easy pick for me, the concept series now also means we can get more Bayverse dinobots, and I’d also love to see them try to make a figure based on the concept of Soundwave initially having Blackout’s role and alt mode in the 2007 movie. I also wonder if this could lead to a potential figure for that submarine Transformer from TLK, because I’m pretty sure there was concept art of her having a robot mode similar to Strika. Though it’s not only the concept stuff I want to see more Bayverse figures from. We still need a TLK Barricade, a new TLK Megatron, and I really want them to make a new mold for an SS Nitro Zeus. But with the addition of AOE Optimus, Hatchet, and concept Widow maker coming next year, I think we’re starting to get back into Bayverse a bit more. Though that’s just speaking on the live action stuff. The 86 subline is kind of trumping Studio Series for the time being.
@@jaydonmagan4694yeah I also want to see a Dark of the Moon video game Warpath figure in the Studio Series someday since they’ve basically acknowledged the tie in games already, maybe the Aerialbots too from the same game as well
check your hinges that are attached to the car hood, both are attached the wrong way around, so you need to detach the hood parts and rotate the small hinge part 180° for them to be attached properly.
The vehicle mode kinda looks like what a Corvette Stingray, BayVerse Sideswipe's alt mode, would look like if BayVerse Sideswipe was in the Bumblebee Movie except with his brother's head and color scheme
Out of the three concept art fugures released so far i think Sunstreaker is my favourite. Rumble is a core class, and altho i really like him, he doesn't really compare with the bigger bots. Megs is cool as hell, i love the design, the paintjob, the altmodes, everything. It poses super well too. But in the end it's just kind of a generic megs design. Sunstreaker is actually an interesting take in the g1 design, as it takes a kot from the source material while also doing a lot of it's own things. Dig the weapons and the altmode, and i really like the colors
Yeah, i know, they both have their feet do something to form the front, have their chest become the cabin, have their arms become the sides, have a piece flip over the back,
I think this is probably my favorite Bumblebee movie deluxe. I'm supposed to get shockwave tomorrow and Megatron later this year from pulse. Pretty excited for those.
good video! I don't have this Sunstreaker, but the forearms bother me conceptually - a big folded up panel next to a huge gap? was there no way to add a swivel so they lined up (and added some wrist articulation)? probably a budget-related limitation, but still
He reminds me of Die Anna's Hawk car from the Carmageddon video games... The mere suggestion of which would utterly horrify Sunstreaker with the bodywork damage, I'm sure, given they're destruction derby death-races.
3:12, at first I Thought that he had one silver arm panel and one black, but then I realized that it was just the lighting. He looks great, sadly Pulse UK has pushed him back to august for some reason
Amazing Sunstreaker! I really want to get him! He has a great botmode & a super swish carmode! Would love to see him in one of the next movies. I think he'd look really cool with SSGE Sideswipe!
This looks great! He looks G1-esque enough to fit in a G1 roster that consists of Siege/Earthrise and Gamer Edition/SS86. I was on the fence with him but this looks really cool.
It's alt modes like this that make me wish lots of them decided to stay with their Cybertronian designs. I swear, *all the Studio Series figures on the opening battle from Bumblebee are amazing!!!!!!*
This one surprised me a lot - wasn't too keen on it, but Target had it for $13 US so I nabbed it. After messing with it for a couple days, I'd have paid full price without hesitation. It just looks cool and has a really fun transformation.
Wanna hear something that you probably won't be able to unsee? The hood is not assembled properly the portion with the head lights is actually clipped on in reverse. it's an easy fix. Heard it on "The Outlaw Reviews" channel and just thought I'd share that info.
My only issue with this is the fact that it has so many solid flat panels, like i know a fair few of the bee movie bots do too but Sunny here stands out for how little greebls and mechanical details he has
hey man I got lucky and there was a sale at Walmart for like 19 bucks it was nuts and totally worth it mine has a bit of gaping in the arms next to the front fenders I couldn't tell if it was the same but I feel like they could have done that better love your content man I watch you a lot (that's not creepy).
Hasbro really did announce a concept art series and instead of using actual BB concept art like WW2 Bee or Decepticon hunters they really just pulled the "Source: I made it up" card on this guy and rumble
I picked this guy up recently and thought I'd come back to comment about the thighs after having him in-hand: An easy fix for his thighs would've been to shorten the upper thigh panels by a few millimeters to where they won't scrape against his hips. I'm sure no one would bat an eye since we don't know what he fully looks like, anyway, AND it would've made for less wear and tear so soon out of the box. Otherwise, it's a great figure. He got too much hate, imo. The shoulders are a bit iffy, but it's standard that one figure from each wave will have those shoulders eventually, so no use complaining anymore.
It's got kibble on the forearms and you telling me they couldn't figure out a way to use them to cover up the hollow back instead of just hanging off the side? Lazy.
I genuinely forgot this was a BB Movie figure. Since ge released the same time as Gamer Sideswipe I thought they were both game figures. Explains why I like the look of Sunstreaker more tho lol
As much as I want HasTak to get back to the Bayverse designs so we can finally have Bugatti Drift and either version of Hound… if they keep the quality on these BBM blorbos this consistently good, I say make as many as they want.
I was disappointed in the hollow arms and no wrist rotation. The hand rotation would have been so easy. I feel that in a series that is supposed to be the collector series that we get so many figures that do not appear to be given enough attention.
3 issues with misassembled parts on mine. L hip joint put on backwards, the car panels on both feet put on backwards with regard to the connecting piece. What a mess. Glad I only paid $9.50 for this. Fixed but wtf, Hasbro?!
I still don’t believe there’s actually art of him. The refusal to show both his and rumble’s screams that they made it up and are just going “yep, totally exists”.
Well I have this figure and I also have LEDs in my bedroom and when they are on white you can see the difference between the slightly bendy plastic and the palm it’s weird but cool great figure I had the choice between this and gamer edition sideswipe and I choose this guy
I kinda like him... his wheels i adore, vehicle mode is really to my liking. but wrists rotation being a no-no, the hollow arms, the hinges outside ... it's very hard for me to pay full price for him. on a very very good sale maybe, i will get him.
Two major flaws about this very, very good toy. The head snap inside for vehicle mode so you need a screwdriver to pop it back out for the bot. I had to shave off the clip with an cutter. Second fault are the hollow arms and no wrists. Still, I was pleasantly surprised.
Can't be leave how much they cost in Canada wow leader class here in Minnesota is $54 that seem great now that I know what u all are paying that just nuts
I hate hollow bits so much, I'd honestly sacrifice poseability over to make toys less hollow. I don't want a toy that looks unfinished, or as though they ran out of plastic 90% of the way through
It's definitely a decent figure, and I like the design, but yeah, those hollow forearms look awful. I'm hoping for a 3rd party filler set. Also, I would love an arm cannon or something to go with the arms.
looking at this toy before the review kicks off, it looks nice like i can dig the design, HOWEVER i do not like those giant shoulders that would like block his line of sight if he were an actual giant robot.
One of the reasons I never buy any Bumblebee (as in the character) toys by Hasbro (other than one NEST one) is that I think the yellow is really bright and oddly cheap-looking as a result. I feel like it's the same yellow for this guy, and that's offputting. That said, I bet some customs-maker out there does some work on him with panel lining and drybrushing and makes him look sch-weet.
