As I was goin' over the Cork and Kerry mountains,
I met with Captain Farrell and his money he was counting,
I first produced my pistol and then produced my rapier,
Stand and deliver for you are the bold deciever.
Musha ring dum a do dum a da, whack for the daddio,
Whack for the daddio, there's whiskey in the jar.
I took all of his money and it was a pretty penny,
I put it in my pocket and I brought it home to Jenny,
She sighed and she swore she never would deceive me,
But the Devil take the women for they never can be easy.
I went into my chamber all for to take a slumber,
I dreamt of golden jewels and for sure it was a wonder,
For Jenny drew my charges and she filled them up with water,
Then sent for Captian Farrell to be ready for the slaughter.
'Twas early in the morning just before I rose to travel,
Up came a band of footmen and likewise Captain Farrell,
So I first produced my pistol for she stole away my rapier,
But I couldn't shoot the water so a prisoner I was taken.
If anyone can aid me it's my brother in the Army,
If I could find his station in Cork or in Killarney,
And if he'd go with me we'd go rovin' through Kilkenny,
And I'm sure he'd treat me better than my darlin' sportin' Jenny.

Tolle Version. Grüße aus Kiel 🇩🇪
Best version I know, apart from Neve Campbell's!❤
wait wheres the love for John here
Love Metallica and Phil Lynott’s versions, but traditional is so refreshing. No electricity,no reverb, just damn good playing.
If you like trad you should look at older trad versions, quite easy to find.
After Thin Lizzy, the best version...
Too bad it's not possible to put multiple thumbs up !
Like y'all's version the best. Don't know where y'all filmed this at but it looks just like the brown out front of my place in the western ozarks
Who made the guitar?
Whack-fol-the-daddy- oh!!!
🇮🇪🇬🇷
Ah
They use the basic riff from Thin Lizzy, but then they go on like the Dubliners...luckily
Yup mommas got a squeeze box. Fuck Metallica you all got it going on. Txs 🇨🇦
Great rendition but none can beat the Dubliners version. Sorry. Liked and subscribed anyway, cause I checked out others of your covers. There are some really great ones.
Thin Lizzie's and Metallica's version are way more powerful and meaningful......Who knew amps, anger and electric guitars would make an old song better lol
Too long winded intro, should have left this one to the pros
CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
