Gratuliere! Der The Ramparts-Kammer-Chor hat ein einzigartiges Repertoire von Liedern - inbesondere die traditionellen irischen Lieder, die ich sehr gerne höre.
i’m deep into this obsession of irish song and i never want to leave
Wonderful song! I love Ireland and irish music, greetings from Italy!

la strada rocciosa per Roma
This awakens something from within! Makes you feel a sense of community and a togetherness. I need to experience Ireland. Love from canada.
beside the fact, what a talented choir you guys are ... oh my... my eyes are so blessed too, not just my ears. handsome men with marvelous voices
The best version I've heard ,the harmonising,I can hear every word, but it is often sung in a faster tempo
Easily the best version of this song that I've ever heard.
You haven't heard the Dubliners version then!
One of the three best, anyway
I use to think I was weird for wanting to learn Scottish gaelic since I'm latino and a bunch of other things but im seeing now that I'm blessed with an artist's mind. Art is everywhere and in every culture. LOVE this song. Beautifully composed and will be learning all parts. Love you Ireland
Yesyesyes my brother!
Make sure you don't mix up gaidhlig(scottish) and Gaeilge (irish)! Two different language
@@ilovestamon Thanks! I has NO clue lol
A week ago today I visited Stag's Head and had a pint for you all! First time in Ireland, I cried on my last day, I didn't want to leave. Such an amazingly beautiful country full of the kindest people you'll ever meet. See you in Dublin soon.
damn, I miss pubs.
this is one of the most beautiful songs about "home" ever written and it brings tears to my eyes every single time.
Look at this beautiful mix of folks singin' the most Irish of tunes. Nice.
It’s just popped up on my TH-cam feed again. More songs, please! More rockin, Irish songs, please! Fabulous!
Okay,.... started with Nordic Viking music and now made my way to Ireland with this gem!... Love this cultural train ride im on. Can't wait to see whats next, but forgive me as I stay here a while!...
Welcome!
Turn to sea shanties next
While in the merry month of May, from me home I started
Left the girls of Tuam so sad and broken hearted
Saluted father dear, kissed me darling mother
Drank a pint of beer, me grief and tears to smother
Then off to reap the corn, leave where I was born
Cut a stout black thorn to banish ghosts and goblins
Bought a pair of brogues rattling o'er the bogs
And fright'ning all the dogs on the rocky road to Dublin
One, two, three, four, five,
Hunt the Hare and turn her down the rocky road
All the way to Dublin, whack follol de rah
In Mullingar that night I rested limbs so weary
Started by daylight next morning blithe and early
Took a drop of pure to keep me heart from sinking
That's a Paddy's cure whenever he's on drinking
See the lassies smile, laughing all the while
At me curious style, 'twould set your heart a bubblin'
Asked me was I hired, wages I required
I was almost tired of the rocky road to Dublin
One, two, three, four, five
Hunt the Hare and turn her down the rocky road
All the way to Dublin, whack follol de rah
In Dublin next arrived, I thought it such a pity
To be soon deprived a view of that fine city
So then I took a stroll, all among the quality
Me bundle it was stole, all in a neat locality
Something crossed me mind, when I looked behind
No bundle could I find upon me stick a wobblin'
Inquiring for the rogue, they said me Connaught brogue
Wasn't much in vogue on the rocky road to Dublin
One, two, three, four, five
Hunt the Hare and turn her down the rocky road
All the way to Dublin, whack follol de rah
From there I got away, me spirits never falling
Landed on the quay, just as the ship was sailing
The Captain at me roared, said that no room had he
When I jumped aboard, a cabin found for Paddy
Down among the pigs, played some hearty rigs
Danced some hearty jigs, the water round me bubbling
When off Holyhead, I wished meself was dead
Or better for instead on the rocky road to Dublin
One, two, three, four, five
Hunt the Hare and turn her down the rocky road
All the way to Dublin, whack follol de rah
Well, the boys of Liverpool, when we safely landed
Called meself a fool, I could no longer stand it
Blood began to boil, temper I was losing
Poor old Erin's Isle they began abusing
"Hurrah me soul" says I, me Shillelagh I let fly
Some Galway boys were nigh and saw I was a hobble in
With a load "Hurray" joined in the affray
We quietly cleared the way for the rocky road to Dublin
One, two, three, four, five
Hunt the Hare and turn her down the rocky road
And all the way to Dublin, whack follol de rah
*While in the merry month of June* sorry it kinda was annoying
@@traimccroarey3065 Some versions have May and seems like the word choice varies slightly between versions
'twould set your heart a bubblin'
i always hear "Protect your heart above all"
Yeah the way they said June confused me 😂😂
Thanks a lot for the words, 'cause I'm not fluant enough in english to understand well.
Mind. Blown. That harmonizing is out of this world.
I grew up playing in an Australian/Irish band and this is the reason i love the music so much :) so much energy and beauty in the music
Loved the complexity of the changing rhythms, harmonies and dynamics in this and all performed with real pleasure by the singers. A joy to listen to. Reminds me of some sea shanties as well. Thanks for uploading!
My grandmother, who was from Donegal must be smiling down from heaven as I play this video.
A very beautiful song with meaning and soulful performance. I can't stop listening to this (from Russia, Siberia)
One million views! We can't believe it. Thanks everyone for watching and enjoying the video!
You're welcome 💋🎶💋🎶💋🎶💋🎶💋🎶💋
It is well deserved guys 👏🎉🥰
its class :)
So much atmosphere in this video. Very well recorded and produced. Brings out the quality of the vocals.
I bet at least half of them are just from me lol
It's been almost a year since I visited Stags Head and Dublin for the first time and I'm dying for another trip. I want out of America and I would love nothing more than to move to Ireland. I've been to many parts of the globe, but never had as great of time as I did driving through the island of Ireland. Love you all, the greatest people you will ever meet.
Just look at the joy of singing on the faces of these young men!! Wonderful performance!! Thank you for posting...much appreciated!!
Excellent version of a fantastic song. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day everyone 💚🇮🇪 ☘️ Even if we can’t go out to the pub, we can enjoy the craic online
I’m not there and wish I could be this is the most beautiful group of men in a long while. God bless
I love the Stags Head and have watched this about 10 times. You guys are so talented as a group!!! I look forward to seeing more content🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
So this is the original speed of this toe-tapping and shoulder-shaking song! After watching 'My Name is Gabriel' show on Disney+, I became curious about what this song would sound like when it is normally sung. It's so catchy that it never leaves my ears after listening to it.
I was just scrolling, searching for “irish music” and this was not what I expected but so much better!!! I got the chills as soon as they started. Imagine just sitting there and they start singing out of nowhere. Absolute chills.
that in the middle is daniel radcliffe, you can't deceive me, you're not tonks.
You mean Justin Trudeau?
so true! thought exactly the same 😂
I thought the same XD spotted
And on the right sits Iwan Rheon also know as Ramsey Bolton (GOT)
It was filmed at Hogwarts, in the pub in the basement.
The Mullingar line always reminds me of my late dad! He was born in Mullingar. This performance was amazing, I love Irish music. Hopefully someday soon when things are safe, I can make the trip to Ireland again :)
This song is such a core memory for me, my grandmother was Irish through and through, and she taught me to sing this when I was a kid. Every time I hear it, I remember her and my grandfather always grinning from ear to ear, pounding the table. Good shit, and this is the best version I’ve ever heard
Thanks so much for sharing this amazing memory with us, Connor. It sounds like your grandfather would’ve made a fine member of The Ramparts ❤️
I don't know how I got here but this gave me chills, incredible! your music has reached South Africa
afrikaans
Ja man!
Some bloke sitting with his girlfriend thinking to himself, "Today I picked to leave the bodhran at home...I coulda been a star."
i was thinking the same thing
You had a table didn't you?
not to mention feet and floor?
😂😂😂
thank god he forgot it
Wine on board, headphones on, volume at 100, lets watch another hundred times! BRILLIANT

Lots of love from turkey
My family is just Celtic meaning Scottish Irish and English it don't matter where your from but I can understand
❤❤
Not to be THAT guy... But your ancestors enslaved the Irish. Sure you might be friends now, but get your historical facts straight haha
