I have a 2019 X5. It got stuck on a beach with hard packed sand! They claim it’s 4WD , but it isn’t really. The car does not have any LSD front or rear. Watching the Tesla MY on that icy slope was extraordinary! Thanks for making this video.
Tesla is just so impressive in their engineering, design and functionality. It would be great to see a companion video of the same vehicles in hotter climates. For example Australian dirt roads when it’s 45-50 degrees celsius. Perhaps when international flights start up... you might feel like a holiday... would be great to see that video!

Not to mention that solar and wind do occur almost everyday which means we only need the batteries to bridge night time and for some balancing, however during the day we can use power directly from solar and turbines without the need to store it in any batteries.
That was an awesome video showing how the Model Y performs in cold winter weather conditions. And it passed with flying colors! I ordered my Model Y last week and plan on taking delivery of it in November so I will get to see how it works this coming Winter. Can't wait!

I live in the middle of nowhere and Where I live there are pot holes all over the gravel roads so living here if you don’t have a truck the chances are your car won’t survive very long but in the winter are roads look allot like the roads there in the interior of Alaska.
Yeah but this is done with two motors and no complicated differential, which tends to break after a few years. The number of trucks I've been in with busted 4x4 modes are incalculable.
Independent motors with *two* orders of magnitude faster traction response than an ICE (single) engine design? Yeah that's not the same, but similar goals. 4x4 is fine compared to none, but it's just what can be done with the relatively more rigid ICE design limitations. It's not this flexible or responsive to traction conditions. Both track mode and off-road mode are utilizing this flexible setup, just with different software settings that handle their respective road scenarios on demand. A computer is better at handling this task, responding constantly, in fractions of seconds, to changing road conditions, adjusting each highly responsive motor to accelerate, decelerate, regenerate, etc, and leaving the driver free to concentrate on the task at hand.
2:19 Most cars would be able to handle that with correct winter tires. In Nordic countries there are magazines such as (translated) "The world of Technology" which does this kind of testing each year for new vehicles. Most cars get up the hill with no problem although sometimes the driving computer won't comprehend the situation and gets "stuck". Model 3 had problems with its front boot plastic cracking in cold.

Yeah but this is done with two motors and no complicated differential, which tends to break after a few years. The number of trucks I've been in with busted 4x4 modes are incalculable.

Independent motors with *two* orders of magnitude faster traction response than an ICE (single) engine design? Yeah that's not the same, but similar goals.
4x4 is fine compared to none, but it's just what can be done with the relatively more rigid ICE design limitations. It's not this flexible or responsive to traction conditions.
Both track mode and off-road mode are utilizing this flexible setup, just with different software settings that handle their respective road scenarios on demand.
A computer is better at handling this task, responding constantly, in fractions of seconds, to changing road conditions, adjusting each highly responsive motor to accelerate, decelerate, regenerate, etc, and leaving the driver free to concentrate on the task at hand.
2:19 Most cars would be able to handle that with correct winter tires. In Nordic countries there are magazines such as (translated) "The world of Technology" which does this kind of testing each year for new vehicles. Most cars get up the hill with no problem although sometimes the driving computer won't comprehend the situation and gets "stuck". Model 3 had problems with its front boot plastic cracking in cold.
