The salesman is excellent. He let's his customers talk until their conversation is exhausted before speaking. He doesn't seem to interrupt. Then he guides them to a good choice for his client.
What I love is that Michael knows his watches too a rapper buys an RM just because they want to look cool but the blind test really shows he doesn’t just spend his money because he has it but he’s actually knowledgeable about exactly what the purchase always is, his general knowledge just shows the life he’s had and all that he’s learned along the way.
@Mitchell Nova if you want to invest in Rolex, that's not how you do it. You establish a relationship with a dealer, buy new watches and sell for 50% profit every time. would be a useless investment strategy to just buy one and wear it for 10 years.
So the value dive pretty much happened when the owner took the watch out of the store. Cars and how the value drops the moment you drive it out of the dealership is a good comparison. From that initial drop there are watches that will go up in value over time, which is what they are talking about here. But you shouldn't really look at it as investment as the return isn't as good as actual investments for the most part. It's actually closer to savings account that may increase or decrease in value, but you can have a lot of fun with.

So she does prefer a watch with a better movement over a fancy looking watch

Brief reality check: The only time that you’d wait 6 months for an overhaul would be a Patek or any other grand complication etc.A common Rolex, IWC etc is around 2 weeks. I’ve had a couple Rolex watches serviced at Rolex dealers and will never ever go back. Dust, scratches and inside thumbprints. Only have your investment serviced through their respective headquarters. The best advice I can give, you won’t regret it.

As for Rolex waterproofing, I was in Turks and Caicos this last summer and in my dive group was a retired lawyer who was diving with a Submariner. He had no issues at 70 or 80 feet. I had an SKX009 (my regular diver) on on this trip.

The 4th Cartier was nice. The service of $300-$350 seems high, but I live in podunk USA and have to drive 2 hours to a place outside of St Louis where they charge $150. For my 1950s Omega Constellation, they did charge $200. There was a man in St Louis who did amazing work and serviced an old Swiss watch with an AS movement for under $100. He was probably a Russian Jew. When he sold his business and was hired by a ritzy jewelry store, his rates tripled.
I have a stainless steel gmt master ii black bezel and face and the value in 3 years has gone up quite a bit. I paid $6k for it used, now I can sell it for $12-13k without papers. It was a very good decision. I’m now thinking of selling it for the profit and putting it all into a more expensive stainless steel Daytona. If I can find a decent deal on a used one, I’d be able to comfortably buy it and even if it loses some value after selling it (which it won’t) I’d still have a decent profit if I take into account the original profit on the gmt master ii. And to me that is the way I could potentially scale up my watches until I have a very high end watch while minimizing risk.
You do not need an expensive watch to impress any body. You just need to be smart, cult and well educated. It causes a much better impress on people with a strong personaly. To show off just endure few minutes. A Rolex does not substitute intelligence or culture. You would like to impress is best to go well dressed with a very well cut suit.

The 4th Cartier was nice. The service of $300-$350 seems high, but I live in podunk USA and have to drive 2 hours to a place outside of St Louis where they charge $150. For my 1950s Omega Constellation, they did charge $200. There was a man in St Louis who did amazing work and serviced an old Swiss watch with an AS movement for under $100. He was probably a Russian Jew. When he sold his business and was hired by a ritzy jewelry store, his rates tripled.

I have a stainless steel gmt master ii black bezel and face and the value in 3 years has gone up quite a bit. I paid $6k for it used, now I can sell it for $12-13k without papers. It was a very good decision. I’m now thinking of selling it for the profit and putting it all into a more expensive stainless steel Daytona. If I can find a decent deal on a used one, I’d be able to comfortably buy it and even if it loses some value after selling it (which it won’t) I’d still have a decent profit if I take into account the original profit on the gmt master ii. And to me that is the way I could potentially scale up my watches until I have a very high end watch while minimizing risk.
I love how confident Michael is walking around in his clothes. I could never have those clothes. But it fits Michael ❤.

You do not need an expensive watch to impress any body. You just need to be smart, cult and well educated. It causes a much better impress on people with a strong personaly. To show off just endure few minutes. A Rolex does not substitute intelligence or culture. You would like to impress is best to go well dressed with a very well cut suit.
