The video is very informative and interesting. Please mention which pH of neutral buffered formalin solution is better for fixation and how we will adjust that pH of that solution.
Thanks for the information. its quite educative. However, if tissue (e.g kidney) has been fixed in 10%neutral buffered formalin for more than a month, can it still be useful for histological evaluation? if yes, what are the likely challenges that may occur? Thank you.
So I am trying to make some tissue samples. The slides look ok around the edges look pretty good but the inside is just all black, is the sample too thick? Or did I fixate it incorrectly?
Hello! Paraformaldehyde - is a white sediment, the polymer of formalin. For fixation you should use 10% formaline (which is the same as 4% formaldehyde solution).
This was very very well explained. Concise and easy to understand. Well done! 👍🏼
Itis really informative video cover most of questions about fixation (why ,how, factors ) , usefull for education
I suggest other videos in the same quality about all tissue preperation steps (processing, embedding, microtomy )

Thank you so much for this explanation , it’s great and brief informations .. Allah bless you
Thanks for the well organized and clear explanation.!! -From Bangladesh.
Excellent and very useful for my studies

Brief but detailed.👍👍
Please explain decalcification method
very precise and informative.. thank you

Ur video was of help...thanks
Thank you. I would like to ask. Is the importance of methanol preventing sedimentation of paraformaldehyde..?
CAN YOU BREAK DOWN AGAIN THE MATH THAT IS INVOLVED IN HISTOLGY?
very use full, simple and easy to follow. please suggest any low price and good quality microtome for small HP start up laboratory
You can use any mechanical rotary microtome, for example, Sakura SRM 200 or SLEE CUT4062.
Please, could you clarify the example if 1,5sm = 1,5cm in that way it makes better sense to me.

Samples too thick
Nice explanation thank you dear
what is a special stain for lipids please tell the name
What are the 3 types of fixation
Mam, can i use dilute papine amylase solution for separating individual myocyte for slide preparation?
Hello! It is better to ask the manufacturer of the reagents that you use.
You mentioned 24hr fixation time. What temperature do you recommend?
Biopsy samples do not require 24 hrs fixation , in fact overfixation can be detrimental to tissue analysis
Thank you for this!

@@BioVitrumEN thank you
If I would have stored in 4% paraformaldehyde, can I transfer it to 4% formaldehyde?
@@divyalobi2820 Paraformaldehyde is not a solution, so the sample can not be stored in it. But anyway, use 4% formaldehyde solution for fixation!
@@BioVitrumEN hi we have 37%formaldehyde, is it the same?or should diluted less than 10 times???
knowledgeable video
Thank you very much
