@@supernutbar Mega Man's name in Japan is Rock Man. Dr. Light speaks with a lisp in Mega Man 8 (which ScottFalco admits to liking), and his R's come out as W's. Dr. Light is about to call Mega Man "Wock (Walk) Man, but corrects himself at the last second.
Which in itself is a double-pun against Mega Man's lousy walking/running animation, which is also pointed out in the vid.
Just finished MM11 yesterday, and I agree wholeheartedly. I think the music would have been better if it was balanced more with the sound effects too, but that is something you can fiddle with in the settings.
My only real problem with the game is everything goes back to the status quo at the end. Again. For the 11th time. Capcom doesn't really care about the Blue Bomber anymore, so why don't they just make two or three games to end it and connect it to the X series? Give fans that catharsis. Either that or remake the games to tell a better story with actual continuity. Modernize it and make it fun to get powers, move around, and see the affect Wily is having in the world. How much fun would it be if you were playing Mega Man 2 and you see robot masters from later games, before they get corrupted, running or fighting back against the rebel robots? It'd be great. Set up some interesting relationships with the other masters. Heck. MM9 had Wily talking to the bots. Imagine that. Having a friendship with some of those masters, only to have them turn sides because they realized they didn't want to die!? Remasters in this world could be really interesting if done well.

Honestly, with the way that Megaman's features change to fully demonstrate the power he's using here, it felt like Capcom was taking the piss from Mighty No. 9. "See? This is how you do a fun game instead of that mistake you made."
Capcom kind of danced on the MM's creator's corpse with this game and the failure of MN9.
The failing of Mighty No. 9 comes down significantly in the realm of bureaucracy within Comcept, I believe, because the initial demo and the drive of Inufuni were strong. Then, time passed, finances dissolved, and what we got was NOWHERE near what we promised. This word got out, despite MN9 being an okay but forgettable game otherwise, and it tanked its efforts entirely. Shame, too. It had promise...

Beat it last night, really enjoyed it. First mainline Mega Man for me, so it was hella difficult to get into. I didn't fully grasp all the weaknesses until the boss rush, but I figured it out eventually. It was a fun ride but a lot of minor enemies felt more annoying than challenging, and the movement always came off as "sticky" if that makes sense. Also, totes agree that the soundtrack was forgettable. They could have done a better job if they just remixed classic songs and rode the nostalgia train (Even I have old Mega Man songs in my chiptunes folder). I'd probably rate the game a 4 out of 5.
I know people rag on Mighty No. 9 but can I just say that game had a lot more interesting boss designs? Some of them were hit or miss, but in Mega Man 11 the only boss design I especially liked was Tundraman (Flamboyant ice skater ftw) and Blastman (Because he reminds me of Bakugo, also his weapon with power gear is OP as fuck).

Megaman 11 has some of the most useful weapons since Megaman X, especially because you can basically charge them.

I’m less disappointed with the music and more with the sound effects. I would have expected a more modernized version of the previous series sound effects but they just swapped it with “futuristic” stock sounds. I still get pretty much every soundtrack stuck in my head at some time or another.
Yeah I love the fact that he physically changes when he gets a new weapon instead of just getting a new colour. It just makes it feel so much better and more epic!!! (Blast mans weapon looks the best in my opinion:))

I don't know why, but what bugs me most about more recent Mega Man games (which is just Powered Up and 11) is that they call Rock "Mega". Yeah, I get that he's Mega Man in the West, but with Rock and Roll you have a great pun, and the music puns are one of the defining features of the series. With Mega and Roll you just have two weird names.
Hey Scott you should do a shaving seconds of Kirby nightmare in dreamland. Specifically the boss endurance mini game mode. It not only give you your time at the end but I found that there were some interesting strategies. So if you were looking into a quick game for your next shaving seconds that would be cool. It'll also be pretty short.

What's your favourite Megaman game then Scott, if you don't mind me asking?
Controversial opinion here but my favourite ones are Megaman ZX and the first Megaman Battle Network. ZX was a good new take on the original classical style with SO MUCH content, good stage design, good secrets and unlockables, great music and bosses and powers. Just all around a brilliant entry in the Megaman series.
As for Megaman Battle Network, I really appreciate any attempt to shake up the formula and in my opinion this worked perfectly. Again a lot of content, lots of secrets and interesting levels. Exploring the 'deep web' was an amazing experience the first time around.
Oh sure, people complain will (satirically) complain about Megaman falling before entering a boss door, but no one sheds a tear for Ryu or Nina and the entirety of the Breath of Fire series when it falls into mobile game hell.

It's Megaman. Megaman is like the Iron man to marvel or Jack Sparrow to Pirates of the Caribbean. It's to awesome that if even 1 feature were to be left out that the world would be seeing Animal Crossing enacting WW3 on a dime. It truly is imperative that we see all features in the Megaman game. Imagine Mario kart without drift ability! It'd be a disaster because so many rely on drift to not see stupid Lakitu(sorry if I spelled that wrong) for the 10th time that 1st lap!

Anyone else think that mocking someone for wanting to enjoy a media in it's original language is a pretty shitty attitude to take? Sure, if someone only watches/play media in a particular language because they hold a delusion that said language is always superior in all occasions, then that is worth mockery. But that's a niche scenario. It should be really obvious why someone would normally choose the original language option over their native language. That is, the original language version contains the performances, the actors, the voices that the people who designed and wrote the story and characters chose as the best fit for their vision. That's something you lose with the localized audio, as it was produced by people where were not involved with the original production.
Localized audio has it's place of course. Mainstream consumers usually won't watch/play something that's not in their native language, hence the need for it. But if someone would rather experience a piece of media as close as possible to how the creators intended it to be, why the hell is that a bad thing? Am I some kind of "Germanaboo" because I will only watch "Das Boot" and play "Deponia" in German or something?
And yes, I know that the guy who made this video was making a joke, smart-ass. I'm talking about the general attitude of "the people only want to play games in Japanese are weeaboos" that you see all across the internet.

The beginning is SO TRUE!!! I love the Megaman series, all of em. So seeing someone do a TH-cam video is awesome, and I mean a good video. He definitely talks about somethings that definitely makes 11 great and what makes 11 horrible. I believe that 11 is okay, but the stages are to long as I've heard and seen and the bosses don't have any "push" to em if ya know what I'm talking about. I've heard it from time to time again that 1-3 where the best of the Megaman retro series. My personal favorite has gotta be the Megaman 2, mainly cause I can go through it with little to no effort. Also the bosses felt great to fight, sure the special weapons you got didn't have much awesomeness as the newer weapons in 11, but I believe that MegaMan 2 will always be great.

The reason Mega Man games are so short is because of how hard they’re supposed to be. In the original Mega Man, to compensate for the short length the game had to be, Capcom made the games SUPER hard, and that’s been a staple for mainline Mega Man games ever since
