Hey Jirard, great video, as always! Just a little feedback: when you talk about sound design, like in 8:10, i believe you could let people hear the sounds you are talking about during the video. Since you were talking over them, the audience can't take their own conclusions.
If he intends to fully complete NieR: Automata, it may be... Interesting. (This is coming from someone who did 100% Automata) While the game is tons of fun, it becomes very RNG heavy by the end of completion, when trying to get rare upgrade materials, those last few needed rare enemies to spawn for unit data, and... fishing to fill out the encyclopedia. Fishing, the most maddening thing Automata has to offer. Aside from that, Jirard is the type to do _everything_, and with Automata, that includes Very Hard mode. He will definitely lose his sanity to that, if the game's story or RNG heavy road to 100% haven't done so already. All of that said, I would like to see him complete, and make a video about NieR: Automata.
@@fubblyfubbles I think the most difficult thing filling out the fishing log? I platinumed the game by use of [redacted] for the fishing. Oh... I forgot about the higher difficulties.

Hot take that's probably going to get me a lot of shit: Not receiving a reward for accomplishing an incredibly difficult task in a video game is not actually the worst thing ever. For one, the game doesn't have a completion percentage displayed, at least to my knowledge. (I don't have the game yet, but in all the footage I've seen, I think I'm correct here.) Thus, being pressured to get all of the gold medals is is entirely on you. They're meant to be fun, self-imposed challenges that don't lead to a reward, and therein lies the second problem. If there was actually a reward for getting all 86 gold medals, I 100% guarantee that people would bitch incessantly about how getting the reward is "way too hard" and "not worth it", no matter how good the reward actually is. On the flip side, when there is no reward, you feel that all your pain and hard work was for nothing. Except, like I said, the game doesn't mock you with an unfinished completion percentage if you don't get the medals, so they're clearly just meant to be a fun time waster that is NOT meant to be stressed over. The bottom line is that no matter if there is a reward or not, you're gonna piss a lot of people off. It's a textbook example of a Morton's Fork scenario. I'm in the camp of people that believe that bragging rights are enough of a reward. Despite my rant, I'll accept that most of my comment will be invalidated if the game does actually display a completion percentage somewhere that I'm unaware of.
I am fairly sure the only "completion percentage" the game has is trophies/achievements/what-have-you displayed both in game and on the platform you play it on. So you are pretty much on point about your.. Well, point.
Honestly, there is no reason for them to include a "reward" for completionists because for most people who do this it's just do it for the sake of doing it. Having a reward is nice I guess but then you get scenarios where you played a game for dozens of hours and it rewards you with unlimited power unlock, a costume or a really good item which is only useful if you plan on playing it again. Or it makes your save file look all pretty or gives you videos or concept art to look at. There is no reward they can give a completionist that they'd actually appreciate aside from a pop-up that says "Congratulations"
I grew up in the age of E-Peens and bragging rights. Jirard is just pissed because he feels like it was his job to get those medals, which it kinda was... Jirard _became_ The Completionist _because_ he wanted the bragging rights. Now it's just a job... Such juxtapositions can really make you think.
Mr. G-Force Well, he doesn't say that the completion bonus affects the quality of the game. If a game gets "complete it" and another gets "finish it" that doesn't mean one is better than the other, it just means one has rewards that are worth playing to 100%
Hey he does complete games 100%. There was one game since his channel started that he didn't complete because of how bad it was. But he rectified that with his New Game Plus episode of the game. So yes he's completed the games he reviews.
Peter von Feldt maybe the comment was from that original episode i dont know all i know is the comment existed since they showed it on the comment hate panel thing projared posted a video of it
The one where Jared put the gif of Jirard eating blue meth? Where they know they shouldn't read the comments but do anyway? That was a fun video to watch and was one of the few times have seen Jared, PBG, Jirard and Jontron together in a panel :)
Tbh, I'm starting to think that people in the office help him playing the games (mostly Brett and maybe Pat), which imo isn't anything bad, but obviously they aren't gonna say it openly.
Personally, I didn't think too much of 11 when I first saw it. It finally came in the mail and I booted up my switch to play casual as it described me perfectly. And holy shit, it's fucking awesome. It was 3d, so I didn't think I'd have so much fun. Sure, it was definitely hard. But it's amazing. I'm currently on my way to beating normal mode, which I really can't beat the Yellow Devil. Something that sucks is that you can't get the bolt catcher until a Saturday. Wow. Final Score: 8/10 Edit: 2.5D, srry
my goodness Jirard please go sleep you are the man no one does like you now go lie down my goodness Megaman should have been cathartic not as painful and soul sucking as it was
Speaking of which, did you see the armor Capcom gave her in one of the Mega Man 11 tips they were giving out on Twitter? I used it as the basis for the art I made for this one song I made for her. Hopefully it’s a hint for the future. Maybe she’d have a melee weapon centered play-style like in Mega Man Powered Up, possibly similar to Zero’s Z-Saber!
Got the game today. So glad I did. With it being the first game in years, I had to do my bit and show them there's still demand for our little blue bomber. It is so much better than expected honestly. It really does feel like a true revival of one of my favorite characters and series ever.
While i love this game, there's one small thing that makes me love it even more. For the first time (aside Megaman 4) the Robot Masters's creators are actually known this way ensuring the fact that they aren't made by one doctor alone. This little detail gives so much worldbuilding actually that makes me want to see remakes of the previous classic games with this style (this way making improvements over the frustrating sections of the original nes games) with the Robot Masters that aren't made by Light and Wily (like all the RMs from Megaman 6 and many RMs from Megaman 7, 8, 10, and &Bass) having actual different creators around the world.
I'VE BEEN STUCK ON TORCH MAN'S STAGE FOR A YEAR BECAUSE OF THE FLAME WALL SECTIONS. I RANDOMLY DECIDED TO REWATCH THIS VIDEO AND JUST NOTICED YOU CAN FREEZE THE FLAME WALL @12:19 WITH THE POWER GEAR. I HAD NO IDEA AND NOW I CAN FINALLY GO BACK AND FINISH THE GAME!!!! THANK YOU JIRARD
I completely applaud your dedication on 100% completing these games. A lot of these games you review are only out for a week or two and you already 100% it. That speaks volumes about your dedication!
Gotta give it to this dude. He has some serious dedication. I'd never go thru the chore of completing certain hellish games even if it was for a TH-cam video.
15:22 I believe you can actually just set your console system's date to Saturday to unlock the Bolt Collector. I don't remember if it actually works though because I don't really remember trying that method.
Tired old Jirard staring pleadingly into the camera and imploring the viewer, "*YOU* DO IT!!" may be my favorite thing in the history of schadenfreude.
So if he completes a game a week and some games take more than 40 hours, plus he has to film the videos, even if he has a team to help, he is working harder than most full time people. Thanks for all the effort! I look forward to it every week on Wednesday and Saturday.
Do you think that you'll ever get around to completing MegaMan 9 and 10 or is there a reason that you haven't? Understandable either way but I'm just curious
Most likely because it’s just the same as Mega Man 2 but with some modern ideas. Even though I absolutely love 9 & 10, I can’t really blame him for wanting to skip it.
Not only is there no playable Roll, they REMOVED Bass and Proto Man (the only other playable characters) ENTIRELY from ANY role they EVER had. They are just not in the game at all.
I just beat MegaMan 11 and so I started watching this video and I’ve got to say there were a lot of times in which I went: “oh come on” because you manage to figure out a way to circumvent some of the biggest hurdles I had when I played.
@Dat Ghost the game has some really hard achievements (like to beat certain stages without taking a hit) and he hasn't been able to win it for his own entertainment
I wish that this channel would release behind the scenes footage for some of these episodes. Like seeing Jirard lose his mind 100% completing these games would be so relatable and fun to watch!
Speaking of great music, are you planning on updating the usual songs in your reviews to the more recent iterations? Also could you do a review on Nefarious in the future? That’d be pretty neat.
Agreed Nefarious is awesome. And it's a fairly short experience, so Jirard could complete that game in no time, at all. And maybe give a shoutout to the comic as well.
You can get health orbs and weapon packs to drop in Superhero mode by equipping the thing that makes more of them drop. But, since only one is on at a time and bolts drop anyway, you can effectively pick which type of resource you want to find on the fly. it's a minor optimization, but every blip counts.
Great video, but please don’t deprive yourself of enjoyment or sleep just to finish a game. We need are ProCompletionist to be in good mental shape. Don’t strain yourself too much.
Are the megaman games are as hard as let's say ,cuphead? Don't get me wrong I loved cuphead. But the crazy scientist one with the giant robot is where I drew the line
diyagheith1 hm, i don't think either of them reach that level of difficulty, maybe with the exception of Megaman 1 because of some poor instances of bad level design and bs enemy placement.
As i said, though. Megaman 6 and 7 are probably the easiest ones. I would recommend picking up the first megaman legacy collection to experience some of the titles in the franchise. The compilation has a mode that lets you rewind your movements in the game, erasing some of the hard difficulty of the games.
Megaman 11 definitely had alot going for it, but at the same time, I feel like it's another example of wasted potential. The Speed Gear is a Godsend, that can make things SO much easier. . . But the Power gear, more often than not, felt completely useless to me. (Save for powered up Robot Master weapons, and even then, I rarely felt the need to use em.) Gameplay wise, it feels like it could really do for some alternate characters to play through with, though at this point that'd be leaning toward paid DLC, as Capcom loves to use whenever possible. . Story wise, where the heck are Protoman and Bass? Why are they nowhere to be found throughout this whole thing? It would of been amazing if Bass had been here, and been one of the final bosses, with a perfected Double Gear system, like Wily has! That would of been one hell of a fight. And don't all the robots Wily stole belong to a bunch of different developers? Heck, Tundra Man is one of Dr. Cossack's robots! (Says so in his bio.) Why didn't HE try to recover him? Did all these scientist see what was happening and just decide "Welp, just gonna sit back and let Light try to fix this." Also, the story kinda paints Dr. Light out to be quite the jerk. Getting Wily's research completely banned, purely because he disagreed with it, instead of giving him the chance to see it through, for good or for bad? That's just petty. Meanwhile, Light's research will eventually lead to the X franchise, and its near-apocalypse scenario, due to his development of AI. But it's the Double Gear system that's the dangerous one, right Light? . Overall, I feel like the game is pretty darn good, but it's held back by some missed opportunities, and odd design choices. And I'm sorry Jirard got stuck having to beat that horrific challenge mode, cause my goodness, watching him suffer through it on Twitch was quite the experience indeed.
Well, obviously, since Wily used the Speed Gear to steal and modify the robots this time around, nobody else had time enough to respond! ...Totally the reason. I think the main thing that limits Power Gear for Mega Man is the fact that his Charge Shot is deceptively weak in comparison to the normal rapid fire blaster shots. Yes, very useful for knocking shields away and mowing through multiple weaker enemies, but a lot of common enemies are really good a tanking a charged blast but only require so many regular shots to take down with little to no invincibility frames. The Charge Shot is more of a tool than a weapon in this installment I feel, speed is the game. Honestly though, I feel like that's by design as intended. Mega Man is just a more a agility leaning robot design, so he gets better and more frequent base use out of the Speed Gear. The whole classic series in general is more about the platforming than the combat when it really comes down to it. But, don't underestimate how truly powerful the charged Robot Master weapons can be when you tap the Power Gear on and off for a single shot at a time in conjunction with Speed Gear. Honestly, the Power Gear lives up to it's name in theory, but in practice there's just too many things to juggle in a playthrough for most people to be able or willing to get the best use out of it. It is pretty overwhelming just to think about only jumping and shooting precisely, then weapon selection complicates that further, and now the Gears add another layer and can just as easily force mistakes as they can save you. But that's a good thing. More complex gameplay that's totally based on player choice, and the challenge of making use of these mechanics mirrors their thematic flavoring too, so it's a win/win even as you die/die. Although, I do say this somewhat as an outsider, cause, even as much as I love the series, I'm actually pretty terrible at playing these games. Like, probably not The worst, but close enough that it makes no difference. No amount of critical analyzation matters without enough coordination to execute it.
i wonder if wily is responsible for the reploids power though Zero was in a class of his own, just under a fully upgraded x. its possible that the tech is actually based on wily's gear sustem. but wily is basicly making wmds, sure they dan be used for good. but look how wily implimented it
I used the power gear for Tundra man's power, which kills like everyone on the screen. It also gives you a bigger acid shield and makes Blast man's power really strong and is how I beat the first Wily boss.
The plot of Mega Man is that Wily is using 8 robot masters to cause chaos, you beat them and steal their powers, then you go to Wily's levels. Or if it is Mega Man X, you deal with Sigma instead and do his levels. The plot is a minor thing and honestly, this game with it's cut scenes, gave us a bit more than the ones on the NES and SNES did.
It may sound silly but Jirard's praise of the game's human story made me really happy. Light and Wily remind me a lot of their portrayals of the Archie comics (which were awesome) and i always wanted to know what specific event caused they breaku- I MEAN falling out. It's also interesting to see that Light wasn't always a that nice Santa Claus doctor, he was too focused on making his dream come true and lost his best friend because of it (and he even admits he made a mistake)
I like the 2.5 visual style. I’m sorry but as much a I like pixel style, it doesn’t have a place in a new game by a big company such as capcom. If they made this game with pixel visuals you’d see people bitching that they never change anything. If they didn’t add a new mechanic you’d see bitching about it being the same every time. This game is not perfect, but at least it is a start of a new direction and tbh I’m just happy megaman is no longer dead. I hope it sells well.
Unless you're an amazing pixel artist, 8-bit style pixel graphics are getting pretty stale (Highly detailed pixel graphics like in Freedom Planet or Sonic Mania, however, I'll never get tired of.)
Why have i not subscribed until now? I'm tired of all these fake gaming channels who don't even finish their games before popping up lazy review (Filip Miucin). You are the real deal. You not only beat, but "Complete!" your games. A rare trait as far as the modern gamers goes. You are not alone. And I salute you.
We may not always see eye to eye on every aspect of every game -- that's just how perspective works. But there is one thing on which we absolutely, 100% agree: Roll Game! Roll Game! /Roll Game!/ /Roll Game!/ (Seriously, Powered Up is lowkey one of my favorites solely for the ability to play as Roll.)
You could play as Roll in Mega Man Powered Up for the PSP and she even had a bunch of Free DLC costumes to play dress up with her. It was honestly pretty great. I'm not a huge Mega Man fan, but I genuinely love that game.
Jirard, I just love the way you conquered this one. Never ever change! Still have to start with Mega Man 11 but ... look forward to it ... except for the mentioned endless challenges.
Fun fact: Getting the upgrade that makes health and energy appear more often in Superhero mode WILL make enemies frop health and energy! Just a fun little thing I found out.
Mega Man Powered Up is easily the best Mega Man game. Tons of content, level maker, 2 brand new robot masters and the abillity to play as EVERY single robot master + Mega Man with slide and charge shot, Mega, Roll and Proto Man with the most strongest attack in the game.
The hardest challenge I think I've finished in a game is the Mirage Arena in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep---but it MUST be the PSP version. The mode was designed to be played multiplayer, but the enemies didn't scale down if you play solo. Combine that with the not quite perfect PSP controls to limit your camera and dodging abilities, and it was a hell of a challenge to get rank 30 for all 3 characters on the hardest difficulty. Fortunately (or sadly, if you are into that kinda thing) on the PS3 and PS4 release of the game they scaled the difficulty way back since multiplayer was removed.
It's nice to hear someone that gives an honest opinion with legit criticism instead of someone giving nothing but praise towards a game. Jirard has definitely earned some sleep after today.
Super proud of what you had to go through for this one. The Facebook and Twitch streams where great to watch. Take a long breather and get your sanity back in order lol.

Mr. G-Force
Well, he doesn't say that the completion bonus affects the quality of the game. If a game gets "complete it" and another gets "finish it" that doesn't mean one is better than the other, it just means one has rewards that are worth playing to 100%
To me getting the platinum trophy is enough for considering it a completionist run.

"In order for X9 to be a thing, MM11 has to sell well"
Oh go away with that. I hate it when publishers hold games to random.
“Wait you dont complete games YOUR A SCAM”
Still to this day one of the best comments jirard has ever gotten
Jacky Boy he hasn’t even completed 9 & 10
Wow. Final Score: 8/10
Edit: 2.5D, srry
Used my speed gear and clicked on this video too fast
my goodness Jirard please go sleep you are the man no one does like you now go lie down my goodness Megaman should have been cathartic not as painful and soul sucking as it was
Could you say that again in English?
My favorite line is fuse man saying “SHORT CIRCUIT!” As he dies.
It’s always great to see other people who also want to play as Roll in a mainline Mega Man game! Here’s to playable Roll in Mega Man 12!
I tell my friends "Don't die" as a joke all the time but man this time I actually mean it.
“I wanna play as role”
Megaman powered up: am i a joke to you
"I wanna have a Mega Man game that I can play as Roll!"
*Powered Up stares in annoyance*
I'VE BEEN STUCK ON TORCH MAN'S STAGE FOR A YEAR BECAUSE OF THE FLAME WALL SECTIONS. I RANDOMLY DECIDED TO REWATCH THIS VIDEO AND JUST NOTICED YOU CAN FREEZE THE FLAME WALL @12:19 WITH THE POWER GEAR.
I HAD NO IDEA AND NOW I CAN FINALLY GO BACK AND FINISH THE GAME!!!!
THANK YOU JIRARD
damn now i want a new battle network game
Nah, leave it as it is. Better to end on a good note than on an unsatisfying cliffhanger like Golden Sun did.
I completely applaud your dedication on 100% completing these games. A lot of these games you review are only out for a week or two and you already 100% it. That speaks volumes about your dedication!
Try DK Country Tropical Freeze
Yes, please!
@@arxes176 he did
Gotta give it to this dude. He has some serious dedication. I'd never go thru the chore of completing certain hellish games even if it was for a TH-cam video.
It was awesome watching you complete some of the challenges on twitch! You and your team are troopers.
Thanks for all the support!
Mighty No. 9: I'll be the next Megaman!
*Six Years Later......*
Megaman 11: When you want to do something right, you gotta do it yourself......
“I wanna play as Roll”
CLEARLY you haven’t played
Mega Man: Powered Up
15:22 I believe you can actually just set your console system's date to Saturday to unlock the Bolt Collector. I don't remember if it actually works though because I don't really remember trying that method.
The completionist’s videos are always awesome. Never disappointed by his reviews
also, the whole changing Megaman appearance based off of the robot master ability he is using came straight from Megaman ZX which I love.
Zone Of the Enders please.
Tired old Jirard staring pleadingly into the camera and imploring the viewer, "*YOU* DO IT!!" may be my favorite thing in the history of schadenfreude.
I think sleepy Jirard nearly became comatose Jirard. Hope you get you get some sleep mate. You earned this one.
"It's not fun ..YOU DO IT!". 🤣🤣
Hello! I really enjoyed this one. thanks for the info and entertainment!
actualy it is 12th time in classic Series. And Bass is Canon as MM9 showed us
So if he completes a game a week and some games take more than 40 hours, plus he has to film the videos, even if he has a team to help, he is working harder than most full time people. Thanks for all the effort! I look forward to it every week on Wednesday and Saturday.
Damn getting gold in endless mode is some real dedication. Mad respect yo.
Y' know come to think about it you kinda look like a young doctor light
The motto of completionists might as well be " I do this so you don't have to"
Still sad that no one wants to talk about 20XX
It's a fun game! And has online and offline coop!
And multiple characters with different weapon styles!
Alex and jirard did a play through of that on super beard Bros
Yea but it’s pretty much a complete rip off of megaman x so I think that’s part of the reason the game didn’t get much attention
Wouldn't say it's a complete ripoff, at least gameplay wise.
Yes!! I want to play as Roll too!!
Imo this is one of the best mega man games
If so that prove that creator was what hold back franchise during dark age..
I just beat MegaMan 11 and so I started watching this video and I’ve got to say there were a lot of times in which I went: “oh come on” because you manage to figure out a way to circumvent some of the biggest hurdles I had when I played.
Goodnight Jirard, you need sleep
Lo we Aw we re eee Ed to I understand u it emma5 to 5bqzl
Oh my, completing this seemed like such a struggle. Thank you for putting in the effort as always! Looks like a great game
Jirard can you complete enter the Gungeon ????? Pls
that game is hard as hell
defblazt duboise soooooo he can try, it's not impossible like other games
On a Super Beard Bros episode he said he's not doing it
Getting all the achievements for that game.... very Hard but possible (I have). getting all the items and all the guns, screw that RNG is a ass
@Dat Ghost the game has some really hard achievements (like to beat certain stages without taking a hit) and he hasn't been able to win it for his own entertainment
Been four years since 11 and we have no 12 in sight?
YES
I wish that this channel would release behind the scenes footage for some of these episodes. Like seeing Jirard lose his mind 100% completing these games would be so relatable and fun to watch!
The streams I do have basically become that, and the vods get uploaded to my personal channel.
The blue bomber is back
In fact both series are 8 Man rip off's ;D
Try Mega Man Powered Up it's like 11 but a bit simpler. Powered Up also allows you to play with Roll!!! And robot masters as well as Proto Man!
Some weeks I just run out of time.
I know there’s a crunch, but you’re doing a great job.
Jirard: (Gets mad doing the Dr. Light trials.
Me: Still trying to beat yellow devil on normal...
Well I never played mega Man. Where do you guys recommend me to start? Should I start with this one?
This one, 2, 9, or 10
6 and 7 are really easy, but 2,3,9 and 10 are considered to be the best by some.
"I wanna play as roll!" Dude, play powered up. Theres like 5 dofferent versions of roll. Lol
complete super mario party please
Man I wish there was a DLC multiplayer where you can play as Proto man, X(different version of classic megaman), Zero, Role, etc.
Are you complaining about the plot in a Mega Man game? THE PLOT. in a MEGA MAN GAME?!
This game makes me go super saiyan
The Game is my Holy water
12:46 Goku: TIMES TEN, KAIOKEN TIMES TEEEEEEN
If you want to die even more, play any monster hunter game except world.
World is a little easier and prettier
Can he solo a G rank Plesioth in Freedom Unite.
Probably not but that would be fun to watch him rage
It's the same as ask to him finish a MMO.
I hope we see an episode on Megaman ZX when the new collection comes out. Really fun short and sweet game to complete
And you can go even higher res pixel graphics that that, for the matter.
This actually made me want to check Megaman out for the first time since the X series came out.
Duuuude... 76 hours... Wow. I can hear the just beat down in your voice. Congrats on your completion! Major huge props!
We may not always see eye to eye on every aspect of every game -- that's just how perspective works. But there is one thing on which we absolutely, 100% agree:
Roll Game! Roll Game! /Roll Game!/ /Roll Game!/
(Seriously, Powered Up is lowkey one of my favorites solely for the ability to play as Roll.)
I honestly prefer this old format of the completionist
Mega Man Powered Up is easily the best Mega Man game. Tons of content, level maker, 2 brand new robot masters and the abillity to play as EVERY single robot master + Mega Man with slide and charge shot, Mega, Roll and Proto Man with the most strongest attack in the game.
this always will be the best show on youtube
Thank You for taking the time to talk about Mega man 11
There is a free DLC which includes 8 instrumental music sets for each of the 8 main stages if you pre-ordered the game. They are quite great.
13:20 "One: you don't have to use the double gear system
Two: you have to use the double gear system"
That makes sense
Take a long breather and get your sanity back in order lol.
jerard is the opposite of a gatekeeper. He is encouraging casuals and newbies alike to enjoy this game while warning more hardcore fans to be weary of this game will put you through.
