Plot twist! The beavers have their own channel where they go around looking for open culverts that need to be clogged. Sometimes they'll put up a trail camera to see if they can catch the human that comes around during the day. They know it's futile, the human will just come by and unclog it again, but if they do a good enough job, maybe it'll be enough to keep the human busy for a few hours.

Very interesting post. Saw the moose, heron, bobcat and beaver. Think bobcat was hoping for a beaver snack? Always so beautiful the areas you visit. Really enjoy your adventures. Nice place for a dip too. Can't forget the moose dropping culvert. 😅😂🤣😳🤔🤭. Stay safe and take care. Fish did eat some of those dehydrated apples anyway. Probably the beaver if he found any? ♥️🦫♥️

It’s really amazing how determined these beavers are to keeping their homes from being destroyed! If wasn’t for Post 10, the northeast would be a new flood plain!! Keep up the awesome work my good friend, you truly deserve more than you’ll ever know!

@@Meerkat628 Yes they put speakers in the woods and played sound of running water and the beavers covered the speakers in mud until they could no longer be heard.

Poor wee Beavers just beavering away building their wee homes for their families and we humans go in and just pull them down.
It's nice to know when they are captured they are put somewhere they can thrive.
I understand why it needs to be done and I have to say you do a very good job. Keep well and be careful please, some of those currents look dangerous.xx

We understand better how important beavers are to the environment. Just have to figure out the best ways to live and work in harmony with them. So that we can have our roads and they can have their.....beaver stuff.

I just learned so much about beavers! Here in Kansas where our trees are not super plentiful, the beavers can wreak havoc on a good stand of woods that also provides dry habitat for deer, pheasant and other game. They aren't typically seen as beneficial here for that reason. I appreciate your knowledge and conservancy mindset! Lol, and I ended up here from a random drain cleaning video! New subscriber now!

Anyone remember when Post 10 unclogged city streets? Those were the days seeing cars trying to navigate thru the flood, driving on sidewalks, police closing the roads, etc. Who does that now since Post 10 is annoying the beavers? I regret suggesting to Post 10 to unclog beaver dams long ago. Ah - the good ol' days.

I was hoping you would try to partially clear each side of the plastic culvert in case the beavers blocked the concrete one again and the pressure washed out what was left in the middle of the plastic. Glad to see you made the attempt, it's fun to see the rake go so far in :) We may be doing nothing at all and wanting you to do everything, but we love you for it.
We need to invent some type of super robust telescopic rake handle.

I made a 20 ft push pole from 4 lengths of 3/4" black pip pipe with couplers and a 3" flange at one end. Made it 20ft long at the most. I just fimrly hand tightened the unions so that I could break it down when done. Used to to push an impacted culvert full of grass clippings (low water flow allowed it to clog up). Yes, it's heavy, but durable.

The first culvert you worked on came back to bite you. Ninety nine per cent of what you pulled out with the rake and then allowed to flow back in never came out thru the outlet. It let the water level drop but just increased the thickness of the clog without the mud further back in the culvert pipe.

Beavers are instinctively drawn to build dams across running water. While it causes problems for human infrastructure, by creating ponds and lakes they increase habitat for fish and migratory birds, reduce flooding and provide settling areas and filtration for contaminants. As their ponds silt up, new meadows are created, opening up forests and improving and diversifying habitat for deer and other animals. Pretty amazing!

I love watching your videos. You're such a hard worker. I wish you didn't have to break apart the dams, though. I know beavers build those dams so the water is higher and predators can't get to them or their mound/home. Have you guys ever considered making the creek a little bit deeper in the middle so that maybe the beavers won't build the dams? I just hate seeing them chased off. Where else will they go? There has to be a way to live together. Just an idea. Again, I really enjoy your videos! Keep up the great work!

I see the links above (for lights and camera rigs) but, I was wondering what you use for recording. I thought a few times I saw what looked like iPhones or some version of a cell phone. Do you use anything like a GoPro? I want to buy some recording equipment but, GoPro is kind of on the expensive side and there are some other brands out there that are much cheaper. Any info would be appreciated.
P.s I love your channel ( I am not sure why 😊😉). I find it extremely interesting and learned a few things. I have been watching forever (on my Samsung TV account). Stay safe and much continued success!

Where did all the water come from to refill pond? Overnight footage was great. Awesome video.

Loved the sped-up clips of the water flowing at the end.

A question for you, sir. Could you float a rope through a partly clogged culvert and use it to pull a chain through. Attach a grappling hook to the up river end of the chain and pull on the down river end with a come-along attached to a tree?

I'm usually all for trying not to be too critical, so please keep that in mind here. I'm not insulting anyone, I'm not going to have a conniption if things aren't fixed. But I will tease just a little; like having a meal with a buddy...
Herring is a fish. Heron is a bird. Those 'angry believers' though; they sure are tenacious in their belief that they'll keep that culvert clogged. I'd still say you did pretty good for editing some of that stuff together while drying off from a bath. lol Oh, and 'organic' has no T in it... even in the phrase "Organic Material". ;)
Keep on trekking Post, we'll be here for you. :D Can't wait til I get to the next one in my list!

My opinion: I think they need some end caps older like these for the culverts and maybe not get so much damage to them from excavators working the area. Great job Post, keep the videos coming !👍👍👍
