Ideas: Before opening up a clog, shove a measuring stick in the high water to see how much the water height is. you then can see accurately how far down the level changes. Also, there are ways to measure the flow . Wouldn't it be cool to see how many gallons of improved flow you create?

You can measure how fast the water is going pretty easy. How much is flowing through at the start vs the beginning is kinda hard to calculate because you need the area the water is flowing through in order to do it corectly. Thats not easy to measure. In this video you could take the end of the culvert to do so but thats not alwas available.

After viewing your video for many years no I realize the effort that you go through to unclog these culverts and outfall structures even when the City doesn’t do take care of them. I am lucky to have a 12 inch galvanized culvert running through my backyard along with an old brick basin/ditch. The system is from 1964 and it is probably in need of replacing it. I thought it was always kind of rough around the edges, but compared to the ones in some of your older videos, I realize that there must be so many other drains out there that are waiting to be maintained. Keep up the good work.

The tines are longer than the rake, and you can dig them in to really break up the stuff so the current carries it away. Just a thought from the garden experience. Happy unclogging!!

While the handle is longer than what you like unlike a bow rake and asphalt rake is designed for pulling and pushing heavy material and the very narrow tang gives you a foot either end go work with a real dam breaker for sure.

Also the sky was sooo beautiful. The reflection on the water, the movement of the water ... ah ... so blissful.

I don't know if you're still in Pennsylvania, but visiting the Johnstown Flood Museum could be really cool! I went there just the other day. I couldn't do much because it started to snow a lot, but it was a lot of fun! My recommendation :)

A lot of folks have either two screens or two devices... it would be fun if you posted (maybe unlisted?) separate videos for the two cameras, so we could play them at the same time and hear the sound from each of them. This one was so fantastic! Great work as always.

Even your camera angles are art. Love the sound of the rushing water.
    Wait for the end! Beautiful.

I think you should consider making a few tools for the purpose of unclogging culverts. Something involving a lever would help lift up big packed clogs quickly for easier dismantling. One or two hooks on steel shafts with pull handles would also help. I'm sure you can design something to improve on the rake :-)

a clipping tool to break up some of the branches to make them easier to move

@@captainnerd6452 Well, Post is a clever guy so I'm sure he could come up with one or two things to aid productivity. The rake while useful is not very efficient on large clogs.

Fortunately, the beavers aren't clever enough to block the culvert ten feet in, out of the reach of your rake!

Great job, best one yet. So pleased you went down stream and found the other blockage. I would have liked you to have gone further downstream to see where all the water was going. Many thanks Pete (Manchester UK).

That was fun to watch. The rake of doom worked a treat on that blockage. I kept rewinding to the bit when the water started to rush out the other end. Great idea to set up two cameras for simultaneously record.

Man you live in such a ecologically interesting area, I live on a island with nothing like this, no swamps, never really getting flooding unless its a water main bursting. I'm always so fascinated watching your videos

That’s cool, is it like a tropical island? I live just north of Chicago and because it’s so flat we have tons of swamps and drainage is mostly manmade because slopes are uncommon.
