It's so cool to see the reactions of people that don't know newer. Imo it's better than the original. Especially because it has the 5 bonus worlds that didn't got shown.
Newer is beyond underrated, it's great that Nico can shine some light on it for potential new players
I love it
It's always funny to see people who like Newer. Not because the game is bad or anything like that. I also enjoyed Newer really much. But if you've seen the Developer commentary of Skawo (for those who don't know: Skawo is one of the creators of Newer) it's kindy funny because you know (and probably can relate) the things Skawo don't like about the game and the things Skawo criticized...
And spoiler alert: Skawo criticized a lot of things in Newer...
@@danielsimon424 yeah i know that skawo things like this but it's still an amazing work, it is the biggest 2D Mario mod out there, it changed the world map, added custom worlds, so many creative and unique levels, added so much new stuff even a new power up. Most people see their own work with way more criticism too. But well everyone has different opinions

You can actually use the Multiplayer bubble feature to avoid the coins in 7-Airship and 8-4 as well as that one coin in 1-Tower without the Mini Mushroom.

2:46 you can tell a separate take was done to demonstrate getting the coin as we see him collect the right hand coin but here the left hand coin is missing. Neat!

Only as of last month homebrewed my Wii U and VWii and this is the only thing ive played. Even the DS counterpart is, they are so well made they could pass as an actual mario game

Nico, you should try to go to the secret worlds (one of the purple levels in world 1 will bring you to world A). There are 5 secret worlds(A, B, C, D, and E), so maybe you CAN do this game coinless.

15:20 looks like if you go to the right instead of the left and time it right with the lava, you can use the propeller a bit farther and get through without the coins
Also, at 17:12 could you time the throw right so you throw the propeller block and get enough height to land on the platform without touching the coin?
If both of these work, the total would go from 5 to 2 coins

I wonder how many coins you might be able to save by trying Worlds A and/or B. World B skips 3-Tower I think (you can't skip 2-Tower sadly I'm pretty sure). But maybe the worlds themselves aren't great either as far as coins go, idk.

It’s nice to see newer be recognized by someone other than Nathan’s brother. For anyone able to it is absolutely worth playing. After 100%ing it twice (on console) I feel like I have a right to say so. Finally a use for New Super Mario Bros Wii.
I also think it's a reference to Mario Kart in general since whenever you get struck by lightning your character shrinks temporarily with the time you stay shrunk to about a twelfth of the character's size depending on your current rank in the race
When you look at the cloud you see the reference already lmao

Nico and Nathaniel are two of the world’s greatest Nintendo gamers.
Can we just sit back and admire how gorgeous this game looks. When I first saw it, I thought it was official, but no, fan made. It's such an amazing game, the Newer Team obviously took their time with this. It's so great, and the levels are all unique, each world is different and distinct from one another, with my favourite world being World 4, Sakura Village. It's just a great game. It is truly epic. Also, custom music too? This game is amazing, Nintendo, hire these people.
I thought it was official too. When I was little, I once went to a gamestop asking for the game, not knowing it was a romhack.
If this game was actually released then it would have been my favorite game of all time!

Even though this is a mod, this is my 2nd favorite Mario game(falling short of hotel Mario of course)
