I love how you teach us these projects! No distracting music, no weird gonzo camera work, just clear, good easy to follow instructions! Like a sewing class at home 🥰😊
It’s no wonder you’re one of my few subscriptions- fab ideas always well taught and another added to my looking- forward - to - making- list! Thank you very much.
Thats a really cute bag and like your methods. Ive only in last coupe years started making bags mostly from recycled jeans. After clothing sewing and upcyling that for 50 years I will say learning to do bags and with zippers is a new thought process. Thanks for sharing!
Love this little zipper bag, I think it will be a great project for my little sewing group to make (they are learning different techniques for sewing in zippers). Thank you for this great video.
I didn't sew this wonderful pouch not yet but it's a personal progress to understand all the things you explain. My English isn't as perfect so I'm happy about it! :) Can't wait to sew now ... I'm to find at my sewing machine. Will tell you the result later ... ;)
Cute bag. I made 4 similar bags, 3 for grandkids and 1 for me, but I used a pattern I purchased. I used Star Wars Fabric for the grandsons, pink flower fabric for the granddaughter and sewing themed fabric for me. I did use cotton fabric with batting and lining. I like your idea of canvas fabric. Another great tutorial.
I soo enjoy all your videos you have a pleasant voice and your instruction speed is perfect! I love your hair! Mine is that color too and I get many compliments!!
I like the different ideas you come up with Laura. You really inspire me. I am fairly a new sewer, and never had put a zipper in before, but this project I am going to try. What type of fabric did you use for this little pouch? Still confused on different fabrics and needles to use while sewing. Thank you for this video!
That is so cute. Thanks for this quick and easy little pouch. This will help me use up my 7 and 9 inch zippers. I know it will be adorable in novelty print.
Well thank you very much just made my wife a new possibles bag for any and eveything for or weekend mini trips. Thanks again you helped me tackle a zipper
Look up Whitney Sews easy 5 minute zipper bag. She has a lined version of that tutorial. I'm thinking to use that as a base. Get to the point that the fabric is a tube (zip is in, and both outside and lining fabric are on), then switch back to Lauras tutorial for the ends of the bag.
I’m always looking for something to make for the grandkids they will love this. I can imagine making it out of car material, the other one with batman or LEGO, put some unicorns on the Girls bags
Can one use that glue stick for hemming or tacking down seams or does one still need to use needles and the glue stick has its limitations? Yes needles are cheaper but if money is not an issue would a glue stick work for all instead of needles
I love this design and will be making some. I am a bit puzzled about sewing in the ditch instead of right through though, how does it hold that front fold down?.
Drawn to the small teal bag at the start of the video, but it looks like it has a different bottom from the canvas one demonstrated. Is it just a matter of ironing or something else? Thanks - the Mrs. :-)
yes, it has a flat bottom which is more work. You need to square off the bottom and trim off the corners. I found that the canvas way was quicker and easier with the smaller bottoms
I am not sure what I have done wrong but after sewing the bottom shut instead of the bag having folds at the bottom I have two folds at the back of the bag. Anyone able to tell me what I have done wrong ?

What a neat idea to cover the edges

It would work in a pinch, but I would sew it down to be sure :)
That is just super cute. I love it!
I love this design and will be making some. I am a bit puzzled about sewing in the ditch instead of right through though, how does it hold that front fold down?.
