    Enjoyed your video. We knew this information about motor homes prior to buying our first Class C and our current Class A. It’s just my wife and I traveling now. As another poster said, I drive no more than 62 miles per hour and leave a significant distance between me and the vehicle ahead. After 40,000 miles of driving motor homes in this manner, have to say that I don’t feel unsafe in my rig. Of course there is always the chance of being invited in a crash but that is the risk we’re willing to take. Statistically, our chances of a crash in a motor home is significantly less than a daily driver. You can be the safest driver in the world driving a vehicle with the highest crash test rating and still die in a crash going around the corner to get ice cream.
    I believe the folks towing travel trailer/fifth wheels at 75 MPH in the left lane, with the family on board, are at far more risk than I am. A lot of these people make up the “I don’t even know it’s back there” crowd.
    Bottom line is, when we’re leave the house for a trip, that’s when vacation begins. Part of the vacation is the drive and therefore, we’re in no rush, we take our time and drive as safely as possible. Safe travels to all.

    I disagree on class As being a death trap. Any vehicle can be a death trap if the driver is careless. That being said, besides the front cap, Class As are built on a frame and the base of our seat belts are anchored to the frame. We usually travel at 60 mph and feel very safe driving it down the road. In rain, we are unaffected while little cars beside us struggle and cower. Travel trailers have their own dangers, carbon monoxide poisoning. Fire. Severe weather danger, and more! Thanks for expressing your thoughts, and happy camping!

      Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion. I hope people read it to get the full and valid spectrum on the issue. It’s a topic worthy of discussion . As I said I LOVE class As and will consider one again when it’s primarily just the wife and I. They have a lot of advantages and frankly are beautiful.

      @@TreeTalkerTheTraveler I agree the safety issues should be addressed, but it would make these vehicles even more expensive than they already are. But certainly you need to do what's best for your family's needs and safety!

    This pertains to mostly the stick and staple industry builds.
    The actual bus builds are much safer.
    Prevost is the safest bus on the road.
    If you're going to RV in a Class A, do it in a bus and not a stick and staple build.

    • @TreeTalkerTheTraveler
      @TreeTalkerTheTraveler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree. The bus builds are safer (referred to them as more high end Class As in video). They are just not as many and substantially more expensive. But very nice!! Provost is the main one in this category that I have seen, but I toured a Volvo Bus build last week that was amazing.

    • @RogueBohemian
      @RogueBohemian ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TreeTalkerTheTraveler Volvo owns Prevost now. The Prevost is the only bus built of stainless steel also. From the frame up, it's all stainless frame.
      Newell also builds their own frames from the ground up, but with steel.
      Charlie Daniels had a Liberty Prevost. Liberty offers the original owners a lifetime warranty against squeaks and rattles. Charlie got his either in the late 80s or early 90s and Liberty kept it on the road for two million miles when Daniels died and it's still running.

    Agree with you on Motor rv’s more so the Class A’s. I personally enjoy the luxury of our truck with a beautiful sound system and how quiet our cab is. We spend lots of time on the road so hearing audiobooks and music through a good sound system is a must for us and most of all is our safety. Don’t get me wrong love those really nice class A’s. Yet I find myself towing until one day physically I might need to move onto a motor Coach perhaps a class B most likely.

      Agree. I can see us in a motor coach when kids are grown and it’s just the two of us, but right now as long as I’m able I prefer the truck.

    The lack of safety test for the class a is exactly the reason why I will not get a class a. They are beautiful and it would be amazing but I have everything precious with me and it’s not worth the risk to them. Thank you for bring this to people’s attention. I agree with your assessment of the class A's, even though I own one. I just have to be mindful to always drive no more than 62 mph and keep my distance. That death trap scenario always on my mind, but I have to say I hear of very few accidents with class A's. Travel trailers are scarier to me due to swaying or jack knifing during a hard break.

    Good perspective. Class As are beautiful but having little space in the front for a crash is concerning. We love Super Cs and yes they have a lot of steele in the front BUT the Freightliner M2-106 does not have airbags not sure about the Cascadia though.

    Well I certainly wouldn’t disagree about your opinion as we all have them nor would I unsubscribe from your channel. We’ve had both, travel trailers and two class C’s, my latest is a 2021 class C that is 33 feet. We are retired and love our class C. Just her and I. But as for seat belts in the A’s and C’s in the back you’re right on. As for towing ,, we’ll, at the end of the day your towing a trailer of sorts or a car or something behind a motorhome so 7 or 8 mile to the gallon , what’s the diff. 39 years of pulling chemicals in tankers, makes this child’s play to me. Just funning.

  • @tksleeper
    @tksleeper ปีที่แล้ว

    I respect your opinion and disagree at the same time. What is disrespectful is throwing all the hate about Class A’s during a collaboration- It’s not about why you didn’t get a Class A but what you like about what you have. Save you activism for more appropriate places. Be safe and have a great life!

    • @TreeTalkerTheTraveler
      @TreeTalkerTheTraveler  ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate sharing of opinions and different opinions. If you read the comments there are several people that disagree and I'm respectful and acknowledged some of the good points made. We all have different opinions and I respect the same as long as genuine.
      However, I find your comment odd and suspicious.
      Regardless, what distinguishes their comments from yours, as far as I could tell is that they had both watched and comprehended the video before commenting, even if they disagreed. Any one who watched and comprehended the video would know I never "hated" on Class As. That I would even get one if it was just the wife and I, and may actually do so one day.
      You are also wrong about the collaboration, which is understandable considering you were not a part of it. The object was to explain the process of how and why you choose the type of RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, motorhome) you have over other types. For us it was "why did you get travel trailer." As explained in the video, I wanted a motorhome (class C or Class A). But I knew of the loophole that allowed them to be unsafe for passengers not in the front seats. I didn't state it in the video, but I became aware of this after seeing bodies of teenagers in the morgue killed by this loophole. It made an impression. So we did some checking and eventually ruled out class As and Cs while we have young kids for saftey reasons.
      This is no different than how The Wayward Waggs explained in their video they ruled out Class As and Travel Trailers because they didn't like the ceiling height and it make them feel cramped. Thats not hating on class As or travel trailers just why they ruled them out in the same we we explained why we did. (Their video is good video you should go watch it along with the rest of them). Every person has what is important to them. What the collaboration did was show what those differences are for different people. That was the point. I may be wrong sometimes, but will always try to be honest and that was the honest reason.
      But please also go watch To Be Determined's video, they did a video on how they ended up in their Class A. Its a great rig and perfect for them and their situation, as would be for me if I didn't have young kids sitting in the back -- like I said in my video.
      I think all the videos collectively give good information that viewers may want to consider, safety of their family being one of them. I may have even saved a life with the video, who knows. So we disagree. Thats ok, but do actually watch the video. Thanks
