Sounds like general doesn’t want my business. They sound pretty worthless.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
How did it pull, what do you use and any pros or cons compared to other rigs while being towed. Thx
I’m using a Gen-Y goose and pulling with an F-350 DWD. I picked it up with a F350 SWD. Both pulled it easily but went with DWD to have more pin weight room when loading. The trailer pulls far better than my Lance (a TT) did. It pulls easy, tracks great. I have pulled it over the mountains (12000’ plus) with no issues. My Lance had sway issues (until I got a ProPride). The 5th just tows better. Thanks for watching!
I am not a fan of Schwintek slides. I see a lot of videos of people working on them.😂 My Nash has one motor and I have not had a problem in 18 years of use.
Thanks for sharing your experience and your comment.
I agree with #4 ,"No Range Top Vent" is a showstopper.
It sure would be a nice have. There is a gentleman that that installs them aftermarket that attends some of the events. But after living without it for the last months I have not missed it as bad as I thought I would. It would be nice to have for sure but hasn’t caused any issues and we cook a lot but it certainly can be a deal killer for a lot of people and understandably. Leaving it out was a bad decision.
I wish RV companies would all stop using Schwintek slides…. Great suggestions for the facia board mounting idea.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Tell Brinkley to quit installing Lippert junk.
I hope they leverage their purchase power to make Lippert do better but I'm not sure what the alternatives are as it seems Lippert has a monopoly on many RV parts. Thanks for watching and commenting.
My wife and I are still in the research stage of our next RV. After owning 4 rv’s at one time (down to 2 now) sold the 5th wheel, hail storm totaled another one. One is a single axle our jump and go rv. The other a 32’ with a rack and pinion slide. We are leaning towards a rv with no slides and extreme boondocking capabilities. 25’3” length 100 gal freshwater tank and onboard generator. Not the most spacious but very well built and insulated. Small enough to get in very tight places. Something we couldn’t do with our Wildcat. I am not a fan of that type of slide used. That is why I’m looking at not getting an Rv from the manufacturer we are going to buy from with a slide. I don’t want to be offgrid and a motor goes out. Luxury is nice but functional quality outshines it all. I’m glad you got your problem fixed and the customer service was exceptional. I follow all different channels of different Rv manufacturers. I like your firsthand observations and suggestions to better make Rv diy fixes possible.
Sounds like you know what you need and want. That is the most important thing as an RV has to meet your needs and style of RVing. I'm a big fan of nimble RVs with no slides because slides are a weak point. But with a large family and two dogs the extra room wins out for now. We had a great no slide RV two RVs ago (see out out west videos). Loved its ability to go anywhere and we loved it. Right now we love this rig as it fits us well and is well built. I also like to make mine boondocking capable and have built out large battery banks with solar in last two RVs for that purpose. Thanks for watching and commenting!
My 3610 has had this issue now 4 times in the past 7 months of ownership! In currently waiting for them to fix it now.
You have had four motors go out so far? That makes me wonder if there is something making this happen more than it should. I hope they get it fixed and get you back on the road camping. Please do come back and keep me updated. And thanks for watching and commenting.
I bought the warranty but do you suggest that I keep a slide motor on hand and if so what does a motor cost? I also want to thank you for the information.
For me I keep certain parts on hand because RV dealers and techs rarely keep a large inventory of parts so it can take a long time to get a repair while waiting on the shop to get to it to then find out they have to order the parts. So for me its worth it to avoid that issue. But some people it will not be worth it as you have to pay for the parts then haul them around. Admittedly most people would not keep an extra slide motor on hand, but I will from now on because of this issue. However, there are some parts everyone should keep on hand like a sail switch for your furnace. If interested I have links to the motors under the video in the description. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@ My wife and I have just purchased a 2025 3610 and I would greatly appreciate a list of the parts you suggest to have on hand. This is our first Fifth wheel and I am looking forward to our adventures with it.
Great question. I will make a video with my “spare part” items and post. Thanks for the idea. 💡.
Glad to see you are having a good time. We have a Z3100, would like to add one of these motors to my emergence repair box. Do you have a part number or better yet, Amazon link?
This is the off brand version. Reviews are bad but product is cheap for emergency. This is my Amazon associate link: amzn.to/4gUNFZr
This one is the Lipert version. Way over priced but the actual OM part, also with my Amazon Associate link: amzn.to/4a0CknV
More Lippert junk.
Thanks for watching.
Problem is there's no financial viable alternative. Vroom makes replacement slides mechanisms but it's about $4K a pop. Granted it would be cheaper because you wouldn't have to retrofit them but another $2K added to the price is something the bean counters won't like. Most buyers would gladly pay and extra $2K for piece of mind but unfortunately Brinkleys sponsored by Lippert. It's a rolling Lippert parts bin.
FYI...8mm and 5/16 are the same size
Thanks for watching and commenting. I guess I should have mentioned that I just happens to have a 8mm in hand. Good catch and info.
Thanks. Had a motor go out in my bedroom slide in my 3100. They are tricky to get to!
They sure are! Thanks for watching.
Well done! I have developed a close relationship with Brinkley’s customer care folks. They are second to none. Safe travels
Thanks and glad you also have had good experiences with Brinkley service.
A close relationship may indicate you're calling them too much!
@@luminousveiws Naw, just working through our list of issues which they are ensuring that we are getting everything resolved.
Yeah man you should call a tech for something like that¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Agree & Thanks for watching. A good tech is a great resource. But we had no option. It was do it (install the motor) ourselves or call our Christmas trip off. The tech that did come out before we had a motor in hand was very helpful. But he had Christmas plans and couldn’t stick around for the motor understandably. No other techs were able to come out. But now that I have done it I would feel very comfortable doing it again.
Great video & informative fix!
Thanks and safe travels. Looking forward to next van video.
You forgot to mention another key….a friend who talks you off the ledge! 😂 This video is going to help a lot of people out when they have slide issues. Well done!
Thanks for the comment AND for talking me off the ledge. lol. I definitely needed that help.
Great job explaining the slide out repair. Luckily, we have never experienced a failure, yet. 🤞By the way, being an old school SW fan, I love the opening crawl. JS!
Thanks. We had been very lucky and never had a slide issue before so this was new for me. Hopefully the last time.

Nice work. Slide failures suck.
Thanks!!
Slide failure was my biggest fear.
yep
Wow, this is some major damage a missing, screw a scratched light and a gouge on the floor, which you had to lay down and get 6 inches from to see
I thought the issues were very minor. This was a review of what went wrong so potential buyers could judge the quality. Not a lot in my opinion considering. I hate to disappoint people wishing bad fortune on others, but if considering this RV it should be good information. If that is you, you’re welcome. If instead you watched wishing misfortune, my apologies. Thanks for watching.
My Z3100 stayed at that same spot in Nashville TN. Some kids dumped their bikes by our RV and went down by that rock and started jumping in the lake. That has to be Elm Hills.
That is Elm Hills. We stay there often.
@@TreeTalkerTheTraveler I knew I wasn't crazy. That's the exact spot we stayed in.
Well that was a whole lot of nothing. Thanks for the cheap clickbait.
You’re welcome.
Looks like glamping. For me, i couldnt live in such a sterile looking place, even for a weekend
I can understand that, everyone has different preferences.
If possible please film a video of you wash and waxing your RV. I’d very much like to see how someone who is seasoned does this. I’m going to start doing washes and waxes to my G.
Thanks for the suggestion! I may do that in the future.
Good video but I do have to disagree with your assertion of ceramic coatings only lasting about a year. I personally use the Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic on my truck and my boat. I polished the paint on my truck when I bought it new and applied 2 coats of the Adam's I mentioned and it still looks new with a ton of beading and paint clarity. On my boat, I compounded and polished the gel coat and applied 2 coats as well and it has held up extremely well even though it only sees saltwater. I do not use a "topper" on either my truck or boat. I simply wash with a quality soap and dry. Don't be afraid of ceramic or graphene coatings. They are very good and definitely FAR outlast any type of wax or sealants.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Great to hear your results.
How does it handle very un even terrain! Can it handle a sloped hill?
Never had any issue with uneven terrain or slopped hills. During hook up if on uneven terrain you can use the jacks (up or down) to point the receiver in the right direction for the stinger. No problem at all. Thanks for watching
This was very informative. I was ready to dish out some big money for a 5 year ceramic coating. What products do you use to wash and wax your RV? Do you use something different for the cap?
Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching and commenting. I applied a ceramic coating with graphene to cap and front of RV. I did not have it professionally done and know it will not last as long. This is where it gets hit the hardest by dirt and bugs and so wanted it to be easier to clean. My cap is also black so I wanted to avoid water spots. In the rest of the camper I just wash and then use the spray version I showed in video about every other wash. Mainly because it’s easy and has good UV protection. It also makes it easier to clean. A full professional cleaned, prepped and coated is great and would be better, but only if worth the cost to you for the difference. I clean my RV often and don’t mind spending time adding the extra step (technically suppose to do even with professional coating) so the cost of a Professional coating just isn’t there for me.
Graphene Is not possible to put in a spray for said usage.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Agree 100% if wanting best coating that last as long as possible, like I mentioned in the video spray versions of ceramic or ceramic with graphene are likely diluted. That’s because of cost and to make it thin enough to work with a cheap spray bottle. While anything liquid can in theory be sprayed graphene is normally thicker and more Concentrated in the “detailing bottles” so if looking for the best effectiveness and longest lasting option (and if worth the cost to you) you would not want to use the spray but the small”detailing” bottles evenly applied by hand. With that said, many companies make a spray option, like Adam’s, and claim that it has good effectiveness close to the traditional versions. I’m doubtful. But in fairness I have not tested it to verify. Excellent point and Thanks again!
This channel should be one of the top RV channels on here. Very informative and original information. Unfortunately, dealerships have caught on to the great profit margin and have begun to ruin the product by having a $10/hr guy spray wax it and charge the customer thousands. I contracted for dealerships for 10 years and saw it all of the time. There are good dealers out there though, just like anything. The direct to customer model will be something to look forward to in the near future. Love this channel! Keep up the great work.
I really appreciate the kind words!
Great video! Wax on wax off Mr Myagi!
Thanks!!! Amazingly I washed and waxed the entire RV but still not able to do karate. Go figure.
@@TreeTalkerTheTraveler😂😂
Nice video. I'm a HUGE fan of the Gyeon products. Not the fancy ceramic one, but the ceramic wash Bathe+. Doesn't last longer than 2, maybe 3 months max, but it's so simple that using it everytime I wash keeps it looking great. I also use their ceramic spray wash too for maintenance. RV and truck both.
That sounds like a great approach. I need to try Gyeon. I did use the Turtle Wax Ceramic Wash and Rinse (3 in 1) and found it to be great at cleaning. Thanks for watching and commenting n
How do these compare to a professional Ceramic type RV application like the one done by Bob Moses using Sensha from Japan ? Not cheap but supposed to be superior.
The better quality of product and, more importantly, the better preparation and application the more likely to have a good bond. The better the bond the longer it can potentially last. Thus more likely to exceed that 12 month expectation and maybe even get a chance of 2-3 years (or more) depending on use case, climate, type of storage (garage or not) and if doing proper maintenance cleaning and additional protection application. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@TreeTalkerTheTraveler Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed reply. Very informative.
Bob Moses and their sensha product is the best hands down. I’ve had a few different high end, proper ceramics on my vehicles and the Moses and sensha process is by far the best. You can’t even smash the left over hardened sensha with a hammer.
@@ericrowley18 Thank you for sharing your information. Great product!
We call our RV Sompeace because it gets us away from the everyday, and we get some peace.
I like that philosophy
My new Brinkley got a ceramic coat the day I got it. I do it myself using Mother’s CMX. Quick and easy.
That’s a great product. A lot of work but worth it. Thanks for watching.
Excellent honest talk! I have always just used car wash with wax on our RV's and it works just fine.
That’s the tried and true way.

Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice rig
Thanks!
The most truthful, realistic “expose” of RV protectants I’ve ever seen. I 100% agree. My experiences and opinions match yours exactly. My neighbors paid $6000 to ceramic coat their 42’ RV and still have to do regular wash/re-coat service by hand using their special upkeep product that seems to be the same as the Turtle Wax ceramic spray you note in the video. And YES, that’s the exact product I’ve been using for 3 years on my RV, it’s very affordable, when I need more I just pick it up at Walmart, and it keeps my 40’ right shiny and easy to clean. Costs me about $40 year … saves me $6000. Great video, many thanks.

@@alfie2744 congratulations on the Brinkley and thanks for watching and commenting. meguires makes some good products and have been making coatings longer than any other company. I have not used their spray system but do use their soap and leather care products.
polyrasmatazz...you'll never ever have to wax your Brinkley again.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!
You're in a Brinkley which has electronic control over the release of each tank. Why do you need a manual pull as well? Is it due to keeping the excess from collecting behind the cap on travel days? Or is there another reason. I personally think it's a good to have for the reason I mentioned above but those that don't know would not know the reason if they have the same functionality your rv has.
I recommend this on all RVs in case you accidentally open the valve or it leaks while cap is on. This will prevent such a situation from being a messy situation of the worst kind.
