I wanted to add that we’re VERY CLOSE to the end. I know GS riders are sick and tired of the modification videos but those of you here on my last 4 motorcycle builds know this is only about a month of ‘noise’ then things go back to normal. We’re almost done, I promise. I think there will be 10 more videos left total then the bike will be out in the woods.
Hi mate Is this cover strong enough apart from beauty? The problen with 701 which happened to me is that the brake pedal hits the cluch cover and break hole in it. So the idea of the carbon cover is to protect it.
All I can say is I almost exclusively ride off-road and have not cracked or broken the cover yet despite a lot of drops. The pedals do not hit though nor have I dropped teh bike hard enough to bend them.
Hi Joseph. That would be the Wera 3/8 Socket Kit. In my description is a link to my Amazon store, you can click that and then go to Tools. Wera’s L-Key & Socket Kits are very good. Super strong.
You're gonna jinx it. Should I go ahead and order the ones I really wanted and keep them on standby? www.tripleclampmoto.com/products/hdpe-engine-cover-sets-ktm690-husqvarna-701
@@AdamChandler86 YES! The Tekmo won't even survive the first time time your "large" foot comes off the peg and back on after a slip at speed. Then that stupid tab looks like a design mistake and will catch on the first branch. And you get both covers for almost the same price. Is the material similar to the one on the engine guard? So now we have to watch another install video! O:)))
That's the farkle game! Companies thinking they know better than the motorcycle engineers then the customer is left having to replace something that wasn't even required on the bike to begin with. I embrace the farkle lifestyle but most should farkle with caution. I've read so many product descriptions "fix what the factory didn't" LOL as if a hundred KTM engineers had no idea their brake levers were weak..they're weak so they can break and not break other more expensive stuff. it's designed that way for a reason. Doesn't mean I don't still put on aftermarket levers :P
@@patrickcooper9641 Tekmo Covers have survived on an enduro bike protecting the engine for 208 hours.. yeah for sure they get scratched up but the point is its protecting your OEM casing from having the same thing happen, the Carbon is easy enough to get rid of the scratches in the early stages with some fine grain sand paper and some car polish and it comes back looking like new.

I used a torx bit in a screwdriver. Never had to remove clutch slave. Looks good.
Are there specific torque settings for the cover bolts and oil filter cover?
Hi. I have the 701 Technical manual. "10 Nm (7.4 Ibf ft)" and no LocTite needed. that's according to the manual.
I wonder if doing this with kickstand used would keep the oil inside?
I think you’d need to lean it over a bit more..like against a wall but maybe.

What’s the long wrench your using 2:17 section. Never seen before looks handy

I like making things easier on people so here’s the direct link - www.amazon.com/dp/B0024LOT6Y?ref=exp_adamchandler_dp_vv_d
It looks nice but how long will it last is the question.

@@patrickcooper9641 did yours break from your boot hitting it?
Be careful, I believe there are overheating issues related to these covers.
No issues yet but I'll keep my eye out.
Nice one Adam :-)
It sure is pretty (for now)
