This is excellent. You nailed the 1990s feeling, right down to the big box's art and the "CD-ROM" label on it. It looks like it could have been a multiplayer instalment released after the original "X-Wing" game and the original "TIE Fighter" game, that might have been released before the real "X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter" game was, in 1997. And that LucasArts badge on this hypothetical game's box may not be real, but it hurts me all the same to be reminded of a great videogame developer with so many great intellectual properties that was snuffed out too soon.
I love that the game box is pre-used lol This is AMAZING 90s-style animation, I hope this get at least 50k views! Did you make the 3D shots in Blender ?
No, I made them entirely in Nuke, which is not necessarily the best tool for this job. Blender would have been the better choice, but I am not as used to it.
Its too bad we already had this oh thats right StarWars Rogue Squadron came out in 98. And they had better graphics than what you do. btw just trying to critique XD good work
@@Youda00008 Not a game engine, something more traditional you would use for movies, but yes, the idea is the same. And yes, I took 3d models, reduced their quality, and animated all movement by hand. Except for the "indoor cutscenes", those are from the old x-wing games.
WELL I AM GLAD YOU ASKED! With hours of hard work. Cause you have to make it look good before you can make it look crappy again - or was that actually a technical question? The main ingredients are the resolution of the original games (upscaled to 1080p without interpolation), a reduction of the available colours (manually) and for the cutscenes, reducing the fps drastically.
@@ace_tristPWN Yes, it was more of a technical question. I am not that familiar with video editing technology, so I was amazed at how you could do this. :)
Oh, ok. Well to simplify it a bit, this is not some kind of editing filter, I basically rebuild everything they did in 3D, just with way simpler models. After that, the tricks i mentioned earlier. A lot of manual work. I might explain it a little in depth if people care.
I'm wondering why this doesn't get more attention. It's incredible work and nails 90th space sim perfectly. I love it!

Excellent work. :-)
This is really impressive!
I wish I could get any game to run that fast back in 1995
amazing work!
Very nice! For extra authenticity it should say floppy disk though not CD-ROM!
:D I actually thought about that. 40GB ~ 27.777 floppy's. But I played the '93 CD Version, so I went with that.
This is amazing
It's such high resolution

700th like! 👍
How did you do this???
I basically re-animated the whole thing with crappy models and textures :D
@@ace_tristPWN So you used some game engine where you put your own models and then scripted the movement or how?
@@Youda00008 Not a game engine, something more traditional you would use for movies, but yes, the idea is the same. And yes, I took 3d models, reduced their quality, and animated all movement by hand. Except for the "indoor cutscenes", those are from the old x-wing games.
This is how you sell the game in 2020. But that's too much creative for the corporate thinking.
How did you make everything look so crappy? LMAO xD
